A group of us decided to stop by here for breakfast before going to the air museum just down the road. The good: - Very accommodating staff. - Food was very good diner type food. - 1/2 order options available. - Reasonable prices. The not so good - Confusion when bringing out orders. I was the first to arrive and discovered that the rest of my group was at least 20 minutes behind me. I figured that they wouldn't seat just me, but they got a couple of tables together and I took a seat. They even brought me coffee right away. When the rest of the group arrived, the staff brought over another table as soon as it emptied. They said they didn't want us feeling cramped. They really went out of our way here. We ordered our food and it was kind of a circus when they brought it out. They didn't know who ordered what and even tried to give us some wrong orders. It got to actually be annoying and the only reason for taking away a star. Everyone enjoyed their food and the portions were plenty, even for those that ordered 1/2 size portions. My wife and I can here this past Saturday for a little date. Star 1 is for the food quality. This is traditional diner breakfast food, but boy is it good. I got the bacon spinach omelette topped with h hollandaise sauce. It was really good, however, the feta cheese made the flavors a bit too powerful, but other than that it was great. The hash browns were also very good. My wife ordered the breakfast sandwich which was also pretty good. Nothing amazing but still yummy. We also got one of their sticky buns to share which was huge and also delicious! Star 2 is for the service. The service here was too notch! Our waitress was very helpful and provided great suggestions. She also made sure we always had what we needed and was very pleasant. I got that same feel from all the other workers here as well. Star 3 is for the atmosphere. The atmosphere is my favorite thing about this place! Not only are there model airplanes hanging from the ceiling and pictures of airplanes, but there are also windows all along the north wall that look out over Felts Field. You can literally watch small planes take off and land during your meal. It was just fun! Star 4 is for the food being worth the price. For all three parts of our meal, we spent barely over 30 bucks, and we took tons home as leftovers. Star 5 is for the WOW factor. There isn't really one aspect of this place that I can pinpoint as the WOW factors here. The service, atmosphere, and food all kind of meshed together to make for an awesome experience. Sadly this used to be our favorite place to eat but we will not be going back. We arrived to have breakfast and I have a medical condition and just had surgery and can't wear a mask. The hostess asked if I had a mask and when I replied I can't wear one because of medical reasons she asked if I could put a napkin over my face to which I replied sure. She hands me a napkin, we walk to the table and she replies " Now that wasn't hard was it."We sit and I ask my husband if I heard that correctly to which he replied yes. I then asked a server if there was a manager on site? She advised that the person who seated us. This was enough for us to know we won't give money to someone who feels as if they need to shame someone when they seat them. We were so excited to go because of all the great word of mouth we have gotten about Skyway Cafe. My husband ordered Eggs Benny with egg over easy and he had only great things to say! Egg was cooked perfect. I got classic French toast, lots of extra butter and you don't even have to ask. We got the kid, the kids pancake with sausage and the pancake is surprisingly large! loved the sausage. It was great diner good, really no complaints about the food. Wish the hash browns were warmer but we did come at 1pm so maybe that's why they weren't the freshest. The reason for the loss of a star... the Coca-Cola came in a can!! would have been cooler if it was a fountain coke for 3 bucks. If you want diner food this is what's up! read more

Someone in our party ordered half of a waffle and the waitress asked if he would like eggs and meat with that and he said yes bacon and eggs over medium. He didn't specify how many of those items he would like and when the meal came she brought him two pieces of bacon, two eggs over medium and half of a waffle. The menu (which I have attached) said that this would be $11.50 for the full order and they charged him $20. They charged him an absurd amount for a half order of food for 1 person! This is ridiculous. The amount of money we all paid for the quality of food is not worth it. I would not recommend coming here. I would like to say the staff is kind and seem to have fun at work but their prices and way they charge customers needs to change drastically. read more

Neither of them could even get through half, there was so much food. I went for an omelet and received about as much food as IHOP, maybe a bit less. In comparison, my meal looked like a kids meal. The hash browns were decent, if not a bit bland. Same for the meat filled omelet. It was adequate. Actually, even the coffee was just that - adequate. Now we get to the fun part. This is my son and my dad's favorite spot for breakfast. Having a 4 year old makes this restaurant 10 times better. They do have incredible food and service, but we come for the planes. The whole restaurant is planed out. And my son loves it. While waiting you can watch the planes take off outside and it's a sweet blessing and gives you a second to enjoy the little things. The ladies here (at the front desk, serving, cooking) are not the youngest staff in town, but they beat the pants off most other restaurant staff in town. It was super busy today for Father's Day and they were running their butts off to take care of customers...I wish other restaurants would take a lesson from this team. Ladies...you rock! The outside is all art deco and the inside is a blast of airplanes. Its a seat yourself kind of diner with plenty of places to sit inside. The Skyway Café has a HUGE menu. I went with my standard first time breakfast of the half order of the corned beef hash, hash browns, scrambled eggs and toast. The hash browns were chunky and delicious. The corned beef hash tasted like the canned variety and the eggs were fluffy. Pretty good amount of food for the half order, wouldn't need the bigger plate. Working our way through their large breakfast menu and the specials! The chicken fried steak special is HUGE! My husband had the half order of the biscuits and gravy, which was huge! This was amazing peppery gravy with sausage bits in it. The bacon was AMAZING!! Best bacon in Spokane. Thick and crispy deliciousness!! Our waitress was super friendly and patient with us. She explained how large the whole orders of food are. We will be back to try more items on their wide variety menu! If nothing else, give me an order of their bacon with a side of bacon. read more

Absolutely ridiculous. We literally waited an hour for cold eggs, stiff waffles, and inedible food. You can't microwave that stuff and still have it taste like anything but cardboard! When the manager showed up she couldn't have cared less. Truly UNPROFESSIONAL. She complained about being short staffed but that had NOTHING to do with it. When the food is just sitting there while the waitress wipes down tables and pours water for other guests, being short staffed isn't the problem; stupidity is. Forget this place, go anywhere else if you want to actually eat what you order. read more

I met some friends for breakfast today and was pleasantly surprised. This place is a hidden gem in a great location at a local airport for mostly private aviation types. Staff is top notch and very friendly. Menu is more than extensive with about 6 pages of various offerings. Mostly many breakfast choices in both 1/2 or full order. My 1/2 order of a meaty egg scramble with hash browns and toast proved ample enough to require a small go box and my friends also utilized a large go box combining leftovers from 3 meals. Seating is all at tables & I saw no booths but ample windows facing the airport runway. The art deco building is accompanied with flying related items adorning the inside. And I discovered free wifi as well. All in all, I wish I had tried this place a long time ago and it will be on my 'to go' list for future visits. read more

We found the cafe by accident from a search on the phone while passing thru. What a find! After winding through the warehouse district we landed on the gem!! Ordered loaded hash browns- they were a soggy pile of potatoes with totally raw onions & green peppers. My dad got the Monte Cristo and the French toast wasn't deep fried, just soggy bread. This cafe is just that, a cafe. Their food quality and level of service should be the gold standard for every other cafe. It is rare that a place gets it this right and this consistent in the Spokane area in my opinion. At the time of writing this they serve breakfast all day. All food I've had here was cooked as expected each and every time. The staff is so friendly it's almost a shock to the system not to get the all too often received disgruntled Spokane style service!
