I had a friend, who moved from up north, trying to get his vehicles inspected elsewhere and was getting the runaround at another place. They told him he needed to spend a couple of thousand dollars before they would pass it by Texas standards. Josh and Liz looked at the list of things they said and told him that they were trying to put one over on him. He got his vehicles inspected with no hassles and passed with flying colors. Since day one, when I came in with a car that I genuinely thought might be DONE done, ABR has taken care of me. And Jordan? That's the guy! What has kept me coming back is trust. I've never felt like anyone here was trying to get over on me, sell me something I didn't need, or make a situation sound worse than it was. They've consistently helped get my vehicles back on the road, so now I bring all of my cars here from routine maintenance to those lovely little surprise error codes nobody asked for. Even the shop itself stands out. It's always clean, smells nice, and the complimentary services and little extras they provide are top tier. It definitely doesn't feel like your average maintenance-shop experience. Finding somewhere you trust with your vehicles is a BIG deal, especially when you're dealing with foreign cars, and ABR has earned that trust from me. No hesitation and no questions asked this is one I recommend. If your foreign car starts speaking to you through warning lights, this is a place I'd trust to translate.

About a year ago I was in a small crash and had a body shop on the south side of town do the repairs. They called when the car was ready and said that it wouldn't run. Frustrated, I knew there was what supposed to be a reputable VW TDI guru nearby, so I had the car towed to them for repairs. Seven plus months and myriad excuses later, they'd done nothing to get the car back on the road. It was an awful experience. Finally it dawned on me that I had previously had a great experience at Das European, so I had the car towed again to the team here for repairs. I was very frustrated at the inability to just get the car fixed. because I had spent about $8,000 having a lot of work done to keep the car going, I was worried I wouldn't be able to get her fixed up and back on the road. Christian and team came to the rescue. They fixed the issues on the car and more all in one weeks time. I couldn't be more thankful for the work these guys did, and more importantly that they understand how much I love the car and how hard they worked to help me keep it running. If you have a TDI or any older VW that you love, these are the only people in Houston thar you should trust to care for your car! Thanks again to the team for all of the great work. I was disappointed with my experience here. In my experience, important information was not clearly communicated to me before I made decisions about repairs. I later learned information that absolutely would have affected what I chose to do. I understand that vehicles can have multiple issues and that a repair shop can't predict everything. My concern is with transparency and communication. Not giving a customer all of the information available so they can make an informed decision about repairs feels like sketchy business to me. Unfortunately, the experience left me without confidence in the shop, and I won't be returning and if you are considering going think again.

After having our minivan inspected at the Honda dealership, we were told it needed several major, high-ticket repairs totaling well over $3,000--and were even advised that we'd be better off trading the van in. We took the list of "issues" to Cal's for a second opinion, and they carefully went through each item. Most of what Honda quoted was either incorrect or nowhere near as bad as we had been led to believe. Cal's charged less than half of what the dealership quoted, and the van that we were told "wouldn't last much longer" is still running strong three years later. I truly appreciate their honesty and transparency. We always take our cars to Cal's and trust them completely.
