Lauren canceled the day before my scheduled apt that I had made a month and half ahead of time. With no help in rescheduling it. I had taken off work (teacher) for the apt. No apologies or help getting in again with her.. I had scheduled engagement pictures the day after and was going to have my hair done. I'm not sure how anyone runs a business like this. This Salon is not needing any business I would stay away if you want to have a reliable experience. Lauren was fast to send me to someone else and not deal with rescheduling me. Wow. I also chose this salon for its "great reviews" - This was probably my worst experience ever!! FOUR hours in the chair, and I walked out with the most UNEVEN, nasty looking "Bob" (if you want to call it that). The stylist, Tiffany, didn't even lift my hair to see if anything is even, much less try to shape or provide any layering or texture at all. I had to point out several times how uneven my hair was, and she still couldn't get past just cutting freehand at the bottom to give me a bowl cut. I highly recommend that you find another salon!! I even said that I am not looking for a refund or anything and I just am looking for a way to fix this. She told me to change my stylist and gave me a number to one. I went to them and the lady told me that my her is damaged from the dye. I went to a few different stylists to fix it and they all told me the same. I just have to wait for it to grow and cut. It was, unfortunately, a full balayage so it will take a lot of time. I cried so much during the past few months. I regret going to her so much. Not only did she ruin my hair but she did not even offer a haircut or help. She refused to even see my hair. I chose this salon because of the high reviews. I think they gave me the newbie. Young girl with pink hair. I am out 50 bucks and just made an appointment elsewhere to have it fixed. There's a whole section in the back that doesn't even have any layers. It looks awful. I have been getting my hair cut for 40 years and I would liken this to a $10 bargain cut. Not impressed at all. I was blamed for a bad attitude by the owner on my google review but my attitude only changed when I realized the stylist had not listened and the haircut wasn't going to be a great one. Unfortunately I was right. If it feels better to blame the customers attitude for a lousy haircut then you shouldn't own a salon. I have noticed that the owner of Skylight Salon in responding to negative feedback or problems always blames the customer and/or is simply rude on the phone to unhappy customers. Like we all somehow cut our own hair badly or turned our own hair orange! Seriously?! If I was the owner my first response would be to find out what I could do to make it better rather than blame the customer. Two thumbs down all around. Today I went to Becca @Skylight Salon & She was able to Fix what another stylist "Leah LaRue" did to my hair 2 weeks ago & I have NEVER been in LOVE with my Hair so Much!!! I have had my hair done more times than I can count & I've always been Happy or at the very least pleased with my hair but This is the First time I can say I LOVE IT! I honestly don't think the pictures do it justice! It seriously looks AMAZING in every lighting! Becca took just a lil over 2 hours to CORRECT THE COLOR MESS, ADD HIGHLIGHTS, RECOLOR, RECUT when it took Leah LaRue OVER 3 1/2 to create that original mess! I still cannot believe Becca was able to do this! My hair feels better Now even though Becca had to do More to fix it. Plus The Salon was so welcoming, clean, ALL the stylists were More than Kind, Every Client who walked out while I was there had the BEST hair I've ever seen, seriously magazine model type style The owners were beyond helpful & made sure I was comfortable & 100% Happy before walking out! Honestly, I cannot day enough good things about Hannah & Skylight Salon McKinney. After researching a few of the stylists there, I decided to text Hannah about setting up an appointment to get my hair cut. She responded the very next day and was able to get me in that weekend. When I arrived at the salon she was super sweet and friendly. I told her I was wanting to donate my hair and then have a really choppy bob with whatever was left, and she totally nailed it! I have been trying for YEARS to achieve the choppy bob look and have never been able to find someone to give it to me - not anymore! We just moved here from San Diego and I didn't not realize how difficult it would be to find a new hair stylist. Jordan was nothing short of AMAZING! Usually I'm indifferent about haircuts I get, but this has to be my best one yet. You don't argue with the customer you are to provide the services and make sure the customers are happy. My daughter went today and asked for balayage and got orange hair. My daughters hair was virgin hair she has never had anything done to it. Also my daughter and her friend are minors and no parents were there to authorize this procedure. This is what the outcome was and asked for what in the video clip. Ana said she could do it but failed to come thru it. I was not going to make a formal complaint but to hear how the owner Lauren spoke to me this afternoon. I was very disappointed in the way this was handled by the owner Lauren. Skylight is located in beautiful downtown McKinney. The salon itself is adorable, very unique. Hannah works with me figuring out the best options for me. I wear a short bob cut which seems to be a more difficult cut for some stylists but Hannah nails it every time. I change my color very often and she never compromises the integrity of my hair. I always leave feeling beautiful and well taken care of. The last visit that I went to she did a complete make over on my hair and I was so impressed. I absolutely love the color.
