My (now) husband and I had the incredible pleasure of finding Skylight in Denver, CO and had our wedding there on April 13, 2025. First, let me start by saying we had the most amazing experience working with the Skylight staff. From start to finish, every single person at Skylight was so sweet, welcoming, and patient, we were in such great hands!! We went in person for a intro meeting and after every question I had written down were answered without skipping a beat and we were kicking ourselves for not bring our check book to put down our initial deposit. Thankfully, we were able to do it online as well and had our date booked! It's a very DIY space and the rental was for a full 24 hours. So we had the confidence going into it that after the wedding was over we could come the next morning to grab our belongings. Once we started getting more into planning and booking the rest of our vendors we realized we were barely treading water and needed help. Thankfully, Skylight offers planning services and we were able to book the wonderful Sophie Shinn to be our Month of Coordinator. Starting two months out from our date, she helped us handle our ceremony & reception layout, answering any and all questions we had, helped recommend any vendors we didn't have booked yet at a great price, collected the COIs from our vendors, an amazing timeline for the entire day, set up all of our personal decor we brought in, orchestrated both of our immediate families for a smooth and quick ceremony rehearsal, and managed the whole day of the wedding with ease. I cannot stress enough how thankful I am to Sophie, Honor, and the rest of the Skylight staff that helped bring our wedding vision to life. I seriously cannot think of one thing I would have changed or done differently. Without their help, I don't think I would have been as stress-free as I was on my wedding day. Sophie listened to all of our wishes and made it a reality, she seriously knocked it out of the park!! Also, we had an all vegan wedding, with WongWayVeg (an all vegan food truck) already on Skylights list of preferred vendors, we were thrilled. We had an indoor buffet (in case the April weather wasn't in our favor) and had Green Bus Cafe as our coffee bus outside for a coffee hour after dinner. The outside set up cocktail tables were perfect for people to step out back and relax to some cooler weather before heading back in for dancing with market lights set up inside and out. Rex from Discosapien (our DJ) kept the good vibes going with our premade playlists for every section of the night to perfection. We loved the look of Skylights wood tables and metal chairs, that we based our look around it. We went with a wildflower theme and had the tables decorated with cheesecloth, faux greenery, rechargeable lamps, and mix and match bud vases. We used Skylights in house beverage service for drinks (so convenient!) and even got their in house photo booth, draping, and rented their mobile wall. Everything looked absolutely incredible seeing our vision come to life and hearing our guest rave about how excellent and beautiful everything was. Did I mention that the amazing staff also tore down and boxed up all of our decor the night of the wedding so the next morning all we had to do was load it into our cars? 1000/10 recommend booking your wedding, next event, or party at Skylight!!! What a wonderful venue. I loved that it was wide open because a lot of my guests were kids and they could dance and run around. The staff was impeccable, Sophie was there every step of the way from 'where do I start?', to, 'hey, it's time for your grand exit". The decorations, Honor, were just what we wanted. Our wedding at SKYLIGHT was better than we ever could have imagined! This was the first venue we toured, in July 2024, and we knew immediately it was the space for us. The space is so customizable and allows you to choose the vendors that fit you best. We chose all of our vendors from SKYLIGHT's preferred vendor list and we were thrilled with how experienced and professional they all were. The entire team at SKYLIGHT, specifically our planner, Sophie, was so helpful from start to finish. Sophie was communicative and met with us on a regular basis to make sure she had a complete understanding of our vision for the day. (And she knocked it out of the park!) We had pretty minimal decorations and flowers but she was still able to make the space come to life. We could not be happier with how our wedding turned out! read more

Skylight was an excellent venue for our wedding. The staff (Sophie, Honor, and Jill) were incredibly kind, responsive, and helpful throughout the process. We loved the flexibility and room for creativity that came with the 24-hour rental, and the space itself worked perfectly -- the open floor plan, built-in bar, and outdoor area made for a beautiful and seamless event. The only downside was that the in-house decor (like the mobile hedge wall, etc.) came at an extra cost. It felt a bit unnecessary since those items were already out and used by most couples; in our case, it seemed like it would have been more effort for staff to put them away than to let us use them. Still, that's a minor issue compared to how wonderful the overall experience was. read more

Had the pleasure of working a wedding here as a wedding planner and day of coordinator. How beautiful it was to see the whole place transformed from an office setting to a whole wedding in a matter of minutes. Event coordinators on site were extremely helpful throughout the meetings over the months to the day of the wedding. They were available when needed even if it was last minute and were able to answer all of my questions throughout the day of. This place is a vibe. Stop by for a tour if you can. We were initially so excited about Skylight--it truly seemed like our dream wedding venue. From the start, we were transparent about our $30k budget and asked if our vision could realistically be achieved within that amount. We were reassured that it absolutely could, so we signed a contract and were paired with a planner provided by Skylight. However, once we began working with the vendors they directed us to, the total cost of the wedding exceeded over $70k. This included a $12k quote for florals, from a vendor recommended by our planner. We were shocked, stressed, and felt completely misled. When we raised our concerns with both our planner and Jill, we were told they would now try to work with vendors to get closer to our original budget--something that should have been done from the beginning. A few days later, suddenly and almost magically, a new quote appeared at $34k. By then, the trust had been broken. Why wasn't this effort made earlier? Why did we have to threaten to walk away before receiving real help? We asked if we could get our deposit back due to the poor guidance and failure to respect our budget from the beginning. Jill told us she would have to "jump through hoops with leadership" to make that happen, and ultimately, we were denied any refund. We've since moved on to a different venue and date--just four months before our wedding. It was a stressful decision, but we're relieved to now be working with people who are honest, upfront, and truly supportive. Unfortunately, that was not our experience with Skylight. read more

We had multiple stations and installations and Sophie was able to take our ideas and run with them. We selected Skylight as our wedding venue, and we are SO happy we did. We didn't want to compete with the $$$ mountain wedding, so we went with the "urban warehouse" vibe. We had the best time, and our guests couldn't stop raving about what a cool space it was. Skylight is unique because it's a white canvas--you can really customize and make the aesthetic yours. We also loved that they had a list of reputable/recommended vendors, but didn't require you to exclusively work with their list. The team at Skylight is willing to be involved as much, or as little as you want them to. We also want to shout out Erin, who worked as our wedding planner. She was essential to making sure our vision came together, that the day of went without a hitch and that we both a great time. We loved having Skylight as our wedding venue. The staff was helpful and courteous throughout the process, and leading up to the wedding day. Skylight has a great vibe, which was exactly what we were looking for - An elevated, modern industrial elegant blank slate that we customized to our style. Our guests raved about the venue and how they loved it as well. We were able to have tons of flexibility in picking our vendors, which was a huge highlight. The ability to pick our own catering and other vendors made such a difference to our wedding and how personal it felt. They also provided additional decor items that we rented out, which was helpful to not have to find elsewhere. We really loved having our wedding at SKYLIGHT, not only because they are so close to our house, but the people we worked with were wonderful. Melissa was our contact throughout, and she was great. So quick to respond and was very helpful when we needed her. We loved the blank slate and the venue without anything at all is a beautiful space. It was really nice to be able to have the place for 24 hours (10am-10am) in order to get set up and tear down with little stress. Clay with the Skylight bar was super easy to work with, as well. We requested a couple of specialty drinks, one that required muddled blueberries and his bartenders delivered. I never saw a large line at the bar, ever. Anything we asked of Clay, he delivered. I have not planned or hosted an event at SKYLIGHT myself, so keep that in mind as you read my review. However, I attended an event here two days ago and had a wonderful time. The venue is absolutely beautiful and stunning. It has a very clean, minimalist look with lots of natural light. It's definitely a blank canvas upon which the event organizer's vision can be projected. I had no trouble finding street parking less than a block away. It's in a centrally-located, fun, vibrant, and overall up-and-coming area. Based on my experience attending an event here, I would definitely keep SKYLIGHT on my radar if I was planning an event in the future. read more

Skylight was amazing! When we booked, they didn't have vendor limitations which is very hard to find. My mother in law was a florist in the past and she really wanted to do our flowers. She did the centerpieces, cake flowers, bouquets, basically everything that didn't have to be hung up on the ceiling or walls. To fill the room, we were able to book a different florist which we researched on our own who didn't have a minimum to book. The flexibility with vendors was really helpful. They also allow food trucks which was a hit too! Skylight provides the wooden tables which are really nice. I didn't want to cover them up so I just used table runners. They also come with the market lights on the outside patio and the inside. Special shout-out to Jill!! She was so amazing. We met her the first time when we toured and she basically sold us on booking. She also answered my million questions. It's rare since she's not even part of the team that helps on the wedding day but she was there that day! She helped us during tear down and helped us on what needed to be set. She's so nice and easy going. All in all our experience was great! read more

It's taken me a while to write this review because I didn't quite know how to summarize our experience at Skylight... It was a beautiful venue and perfect space for my 60ish guest wedding. We divided the venue using tulle, used the front space for cocktail hour, the back space for the ceremony, the back yard for the transition while the curtain divider was removed and food was placed and then used the full venue for the reception. We kept things pretty chill. That's our style. We brought in our own food and of course used their bar service because you have to. Pros Beautiful Venue Neat part of Denver Allowed to bring our own food Bar prices were reasonable Cons Look, we were doin this shindig on a budget. I could not bring in a full catering team and staff to set up and clean up. I had my own family and a couple friends helping with that. All of which was arranged prior to the event. Thankfully, my family kept me in the dark on my wedding day... or I would've been PISSSSED. #1 Chalk. I'll only 50% blame the facility on this one. I didn't know that we couldn't use chalk on the outside cement. Someone briefly mentioned that on the DAY OF to my maid of honor who then put the chalk to the side. Later in the evening, a kid found it... and there was chalk drawings happening. There was an event rep there the whole time. They KNEW we had tried to hide the chalk but said nothing when the kids were going at it. It took HOURS to clean up. #2 Bar Service. The bartender was freakin rude. Just straight up. He was super rude and standoffish to guests. But more than that, we had planned on the ceremony start times and reception times but everything was a bit later that intended (which isn't abnormal). I had planned a schedule with the bartenders and when we realized we were so late and NEEDED the bar to stay open they refused. I offered to pay them MORE THAN TWICE their standard hourly rate and THEN SOME and he basically rolled his eyes. Not to mention, there was an INSANE amount of alcohol STILL AVAILABLE THAT I HAD PRE-PURCHASED and they have no buy-back or take-home options. So basically I donated a crap ton of booze to the staff. I get it, we set a time. But this is something that is not uncommon in the service industry. I could not believe the response we got. And IF there was a "legal" reason or something, it was not explained to us at all. It was a NO and then my wedding reception ended rather abruptly because there was no more bar. #3 CLEAN UP. This was the biggest issue I have. Ladies and gents, know your contract. I knew mine but I didn't make sure my mom had a copy (she was in charge of cleanup and dealing with the venue on the day). You sign a contract for a 24 HOUR RENTAL. Meaning we got in at 10AM and had to be cleaned and gone BY 10AM. Yet, shortly after they abruptly shut down the bar the venue rep came out and told my mom everything needed to be out before they left that night. WHAT? So you're telling me my mom needs to stay HOURS after my wedding to pack up CRAP TONS of stuff and transport it out THAT NIGHT???? NO. Had I been there I would've corrected the rep but since my mom didn't have the contract, she tried to argue but the INSANELY rude rep insisted. After MY FU$%CKING GUESTS helped with the cleanup (shout out to awesome friends who jump in and help my super distressed, frantically cleaning family)... the rep then re-emerges from the office to let my mom know... "Oh, I guess you were right. You have the venue until 10AM". (Of course, this is as the cleaning was 10 minutes from being finished.) So. All that to say... we did get married. The ceremony was gorgeous. But there were kinks on the day that really made some unpleasant memories of our wedding day that could've been avoided with a little touch of client first mentality. I would've love it for them to have even offered an apology (thought frankly I do think a refund of some sort is more than due). read more

We had our wedding at SKYLIGHT on Aug 9, 2019 and it was perfect! The venue is stunning with white brick walls on the inside and a large moss covered gate in the back of the outdoors space. We had the wedding inside, cocktail hour outside, and the party inside with desserts in a food truck out back. Jill was our coordinator and she was better than I could have expected. I planned my wedding in 8 months during my last semester of grad school, while renovating my fixer upper, and looking for a new job. (I was also working full time as a teacher.) Needless to say, it was busy and challenging. Jill told me what to do and when. She gave timely suggestions and advise. She connected us with "epic" vendors who also exceeded our expectations. On the day of the wedding, she expertly coordinated everything. The day went very smoothly and all obstacles were handled before I knew there were obstacles. Jill stayed till the end of the party and even made us boxes of food to take home so we didn't miss out! Clay, the beverage coordinator, was incredibly patient with me, giving us multiple revisions until we had the perfect beverage selection. Everyone there was always very welcoming and supportive. One last thing, they have a lovely bridal room that was perfect for relaxing before the ceremony and great for pictures while we signed our marriage license after the ceremony. It was a calm place to get away when we needed all night. I'm so grateful that we found SKYLIGHT. They far exceeded our expectations! Other benefits: They have nice looking furniture (tables and chairs) included in the venue fee. Jill set up my rentals with the vendor, so I didn't have to do anything other than review my reservation and pay. They do a 24 hour rental, so my vendors could start moving in at 10am and I could pick up gifts and left behind stuff the following morning. read more

Skylight is like the cool mom of the wedding venue world. You can do whatever you want within reason. The space is beautiful on it's own, but it's also like a blank canvas. If you have a vision, you can make it look fantastic at Skylight. It has great natural lighting inside and a great courtyard in the back that feels private and cozy even in the middle of the city. Hiring Melissa to be our coordinator was the best decision we made. She had tons of great suggestions and hooked us up with the best vendors. She worked hard to understand our vision and was passionate about making it a reality. It's obvious that she loves her job. We feel so fortunate to have had her on our side through an experience that can be notoriously stressful. Thank you for giving us a once-in-a-lifetime experience! read more

Skylight is the perfect wedding location. Coming from a background in hotel, Skylight was refreshing and a change of pace because it got us out of a banquet hall and let us truly create our vision. With white brick walls, concrete floors (that they can make into a dance floor) and industrial lighting you will get to create your wedding a blank canvas. On top of that, their onsite coordination was PERFECT - shout out to JILL!! Jill was with me every step of the way and is extremely responsive. Having Jill allowed me to deal with the fun planning while she dealt with the logistics. Her counterpart, Melissa, is equally as perfect. She wasnt my coordinator but she supported us as well. Also, their onsite bar pricing was breathe taking and didnt break the bank. The beverage manager, Clay, was helpful and even did a dance off with me at one point the night of my wedding!! Meh. I have experienced better. Yelp you couldn't have said it better. As someone who attends and plans events often. I had high expectations for this venue. Let me start with the positives, as I do. This venue is BEAUTIFUL. The interior is pretty, great space, and the furniture provided fits with the venue. It was perfect for what we needed for a surprise party. Located close to downtown, and in the art district. If the management was on it, this place would be on point but it falls wayyyyy short of that. Their contracts are not standard, their ideas of a venue are not set up correctly, and their service is way off base. If you think you can set up and take down in the standard 2 hour set up, one hour take down, you are mistaken. They are not helpful when you are at the venue, and frankly, they do not care and will show the venue to others while you are setting up your event. They believe you should pay for the entire time you are there (including set up) and will not have things cleaned up for you to set up when needed. The staff is not on the same page and they will not do what they say they will. To sum it up, this place needs to sit down with their owner and hammer some things out. I get that you are new, but you will lose a lot of business if you continue to run the ship in this condition. PS- the tables wobble and need to be tightened for use. Had high hopes for this place, hopefully they get it figured out before they stress anyone else out trying to have a party. read more

I have so many good things to say, so bear with me, this is gonna be a long one- but the take home message is this: Skylight made our wedding dreams come true, and we will forever be grateful to the beautiful people who worked to make it so. First off, we won our wedding through Skylight (still cant believe it). As part of recently opening, they offered off a free wedding and we were selected. I am telling you everything was free, from the photography (Louise you are a photo magician), to the food, drinks, venue, DJ, decor, hair and makeup, videographer. Now, while this totally meant that they could have asserted themselves with what they wanted since they were footing the bill, or they could have totally cut corners and planned on a budget, but they were so warm and accommodating, and seriously pulled out all the stops. They gave us the gift that we never would have been able to have provided for ourselves. The people- Ashleigh Glod is the wedding planner that coordinated our wedding who works for the 828 venue company. Let me tell you, that woman is a wedding fairy god mother. She is the perfect blend of calm and getting shit done. She never showed that she was stressed, even though I saw her schedule and to do list and it made me panic. She was always available to me, even though I know she was still having to attend to all the other weddings and parties she was planning. I was super overwhelmed and Ashleigh provided the perfect amount of support. She was always there to say "I'll take it from here, no problem." She was completely reliable, and I really never worried about much of anything, all you brides know what a gift that is, to feel perfectly secure in knowing that someone else was in charge and have no fear that it would be a disappointment. Ashleigh is made to be a wedding planner, she is a therapist, dreamer, visionary, and friend. Tim and Louise, who own 828 venues, were so amazing and kind. Tim was on the front lines helping to set up and take down. He is this wonderfully tall and kind person who you can tell just enjoys seeing clients happy. Louise is his wife, but also was our photographer. I may be biased, but she is one fantastic photographer. I swear I have no idea how she managed to capture our "best sides" the whole day through. She perfectly managed to navigate our blended family and dynamics, without hurting anyone's feelings. She was 100% there for me, for us. She even offered to do engagement photos for us, free of charge, which in no way benefitted the venue, but was just out of the goodness of her heart. The venue- it's just beautiful. White walls make everything pop, it's simple and understated and classic, allowing for any decor to be brought in to bring someone's vision to life. The venue was able to seamlessly transition from our ceremony, to the cocktail hour, to the party all in the same place at the same time. They were a well oiled machine, no one even noticed when they were taking decor down, and when they were putting new things up. The best part about 828's philosophy is that they are truly there for their customers, not to partner with some super expensive vendor to scratch each others' backs. Instead, they believe that a customer should be able to bring in their own vendors, allowing for wedding planning/party planning to be more affordable, something that has gotten wildly rare in the business. They give you access to the venue for 24 hours, to do whatever you want for how ever long you want. That is a company that truly represents the couple, not their own interests. Even before we had won our wedding, I was seriously considering using their venues because I love their philosophy so much. In short, this team of beautiful people walked into our lives and will forever be a part of not only our wedding, but our lives. They gave us the greatest gift, there are not enough words to thank them. I wish every bride could get the gift of a life time, being able to enjoy their wedding. read more

We had the privilege of being the first wedding reception at this beautiful new venue and I know everyone wanted it to go well. Jill was attentive to all questions and worked well with the vendors we brought in. The blank canvas of the room itself is a real positive when a lot of venues can look very dated. It is a lot of space to decorate but we added a large center chandelier and it was stunning. With uplighting on walls and other touches, the large room becomes elegant and intimate. Because it is a blank slate, absolutely everything had to be brought in, down to the garbage cans and coat racks! It all makes for a large bill for rentals and decor, but we were able to make it just what we wanted it to be. Skylight made our daughter's vision for her reception a reality. read more

Where do I begin?!? Booking our wedding at SKYLIGHT was the best decision we could have ever made. When we started planning our wedding, we were disappointed to see that many of our venue options had restrictions and little flexibility. I had seen an ad for SKYLIGHT on Instagram before they even officially opened, and instantly knew that was going to be the site for my wedding. We met with Jill at SKYLIGHT in January 2018 for our wedding on 11/17/18. We were so impressed that we booked the venue on the spot. Jill was so wonderful to work with. I tend to stress a lot, and she made the process as stress-free as possible. She took everything into her own hands and gave us the most gorgeous wedding. She truly went above and beyond! We absolutely loved the venue, and the ability to bring in any vendor that we wanted. It made our wedding so amazing to be able to pick everything and make it exactly how we wanted it. We had our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at SKYLIGHT, and it worked better than we could have imagined. We had plenty of space, and they flipped the room for us so easily.
