It was our lucky day when we found Skylark Cafe! Ambiance in and outside the cafe is amazing! Outdoor seating was perfect since we had two little dogs with us on our way from Missouri to Hot Springs. Our food was outstanding! Hubby said it was one of his best meals EVER! Highly recommend!!!! read more

My absolute favorite restaurant. The house is so unique, and adds to the experience. If you go on the weekends, be sure to order the steak! It is worth every penny. Also, the customer service is also top tier! Do plan to wait unless you beat the crowd, but I can assure you that it is worth it! read more

Skylark Cafe is a small town treasure that anyone passing through north Arkansas needs to add to the itinerary. The cafe is a comfortable folk art-adorned historic house that exemplifies Leslie's quiet artsy culture (cool without the pretense). Probably most famous for splendid cakes and pies, they also consistently deliver quality menu items. The sandwiches, salads, and sides are well above your average diner fare. Some of their produce and herbs are grown right on the lot, so it's not surprising everything tastes fresh and flavorful. The featured dinners have yet to disappoint. In fact, the NY strip dinner is one of the best steak dinners I've had (at least thrice times). read more

Great food, great service, quaint atmosphere. Some of the best desserts ever! My little hometown has the best restaurants!

We were traveling through and saw the reviews on Yelp for this cafe. It was excellent! There were three of us and each ordered something different. My husband had the brisket tacos that he and I both agreed were the best we have ever tasted. I had the steak quesadilla which was filled with delicious chunks of steak and topped with an amazing black bean and corn salsa. My mother-in-law chose the nachos which were excellent and covered with fresh greens and cilantro. Everything had the presentation you would see in 4 star restaurant. We all shared a piece of the hummingbird cake that was delicious to top off our meal. The restaurant itself is in an old house that was very quaint and created great ambiance . We loved everything about this place and will definitely make this a stop when passing through from now on. read more

We stopped for Saturday lunch. My friend had the green apple, chicken, pecan salad with homemade dressing. And I chose the BBQ pulled pork quesadilla with pickled onion, cilantro & on advice of our server I added slaw which gave the perfect crunch. It came with a chipotle dipping sauce. And we shared a slice of strawberry pie. Scrumptious mix of sweet strawberries & tangy cream cheese layer! The setting is retro, sweet & welcoming. The dishes are delicious, impeccably fresh & sophisticated. Skylark Cafe is reason enough to make the drive to Leslie. What a gem! But you've got to check out Serenity bakery while there. read more

Service was excellent. Food was fantastic. I had pork tacos, my husband had brisket tacos, my son had the chicken quesadillas, other son had a sandwich and salad and daughter had a house salad. Ranch dressing was delicious and everything was flavorful. For dessert we tried the blueberry custard, wedding cake, cookies and cream cake, and strawberry shortcake cheesecake. All great choices. Highly recommend! read more

Great lunch. I had pork quesadilla with cole slaw. My wife had a sandwich. I took off a star because she is very allergic to tomatoes. She requested her first choice of sandwich not to have tomatoes. However, our server informed her they couldn't remove tomatoes from her choice. She said she could pick them off. My wife made another choice. We both had desert, both were great. read more

This is an excellent restaurant with great service. The homemade strawberry pie is a must try. I will be visiting again soon.

We came in with high hopes after hearing so many great things. But we were seated outside and waited 20 minutes without seeing a waitress offering us even a water while we waited while it was hot. I'm not sure if it was because we were on the patio, they were under staffed or because we had a person of darker complexion in the group. Leslie is not known to be the most welcoming to people that aren't white and we feel like that was the root cause. We left. Won't return. read more

We ate here a few years back and are anxiously awaiting when we will be able to come back again. Their brisket is great but what we loved the most was the strawberry pie. The waitress was very helpful and attentive. read more

We were coming back from Branson and saw the good reviews for here. They did not lie! We had the Cuban, which I could eat everyday! The meat tasted amazing and was paired with the pickles and mustard perfectly. We shared the tacos, again the meat was perfect. They were assembled to look fancy, but tasted better than expected. Try the Hummingbird Cake, its like banana bread and spice cake had a baby. The building is like a cute old house that has a comfortable feel. This is not a cooperate establishment, so don't expect lots of staff to wait on you. There is a handful of tables in each of the 3 rooms. But the ladies who run it will treat you good. We will be coming back. read more

The oriental chicken salad was phenomenal - the best I've had. My wife ordered the Fiesta salad and loved it. The strawberry pie is killer. The service was fantastic. Don't miss it. I will be back. read more

Great little out-of-the-way kitschy restaurant. Soups, sandwiches, desserts were all great! The place is a restored home, the feel is cozy and casual. read more

A very quaint Cafe which highlights fresh produce of the season, never-frozen, rather homemade food which is very tasty. The pies are always homemade as well as the cakes and various other desserts. The price is mid-range I would say, the servings rather large as every time I've gone there I brought back a doggy bag :-), but the service is excellent and always served with a smile and a HomeTown feel. I don't think you would be disappointed to stop and try anything on their menu. read more

Wonderful experience here March of 2021 on a family vacation. The staff was extremely pleasant and courteous and the food was wonderful. If they have it available, I definitely recommend the Hummingbird Cake for dessert. It was my first time having it and I think it's my new favorite. If you happen to be in this beautiful and hidden area of America, please stop in at Skylark...you won't be disappointed. read more

Headed home from vacation and stopped here for lunch with 10 people in our group. I felt like i was stepping foot into my great grandmothers house. The old fashion charm brings back the nostalgic memories of my childhood. The food is amazing!! You must save room for the homemade cakes and pies!! I even had picky ones that loved the food. This will definitely become a stop on our yearly family vacations. You will not be disappointed. read more

One of the best lunch spots in Arkansas. You get so much for your dollar here. I had the Jumping Chuy (grilled chicken, green chilies, avocados on a ciabatta bun) I had the spinach cheese dip as my side. In most places, cheese dip is a $4 side - this comes with your meal! So if you're ever driving through Leslie (i.e. on your way to Branson) you need to stop here and eat. read more

Wonderful food. Sinful evil dessert temptations. Great attentive staff which is near impossible to find anymore. This hamlet is a foodie mecca with wonderful wood fired sourdough bakery across the street. I've given up on gluten but know good baking when I smell it. We will be back. A friend took us there as everyone he takes is impressed. The decor is eclectic and wonderful. My highest recommendation. read more
