Went in today for an all over color and a cut. My hair was down to the small of my back and the ends were fried. I had several bands of color and it just needed a lot of TLC. Jaymee did a FANTASTIC job. She listened even when I rambled. She explained everything very well, made recommendations for color and cut. She was even super patient with me when I had to dash out and get my daughter from school and was patient and really good with my eight year old daughter when she came back with me. She showed me how to do the style at home and didn't make me feel ridiculous for asking how to style my hair at my age. I took a shot in the dark and tried a new salon and a new stylist after a less than satisfying session at a nearby chain. Skye Bar did not disappoint t and I had a lovely trim from Kenzie. She was super professional and immediately wanted to know my hair habits- what products I used, how often I used hear, etc. She spotted and fixed breakage and unevenness by doing a dry cut to prevent shrinkage- something I've always wanted to try! Kenzie read the notes I wrote on my appointment booking and I was really impressed by her ability to work with wavy and curly hair. She gave good product advice, but didn't try to sell me a bunch of stuff, and genuinely cared about maintenence after the appointment. She was a blast to talk to as well, always a plus. I highly recommend Kenzie and will be coming back for color and future trims. Also, shoutout to the staff at Skye Bar for rescheduling after the ice storm we had. They were super accommodating and everyone there seemed happy to be back at work- and on a Sunday no less. Run-dont walk- and give this place some business. read more

When I first made this review I gave a bad rating because the hours were messed up on google and I was frustrated. BUT. Let me tell you. The owner, Ashley, goes ABOVE AND BEYOND for her customers. Erin gave me the exact color I have been looking for all these years! Dimensional coloring, healthy, and she trimmed my hair just enough to make it feel more a little more full. Really disappointed in the overall customer service of the salon. I've been to this salon 3x times. 6/30/21 10/21/21 11/11/21 The first time Natalie was my stylist and the last two times Jaymee. I wasn't a huge fan of Natalie mainly because she seemed in a rush. I always thought Jaymee was very sweet and took her time. She usually saw me on a federal holiday or weekend since I am AD. I always appreciated her working with me. While the salon itself is well maintained, clean and the staff usually professional, I'm surprised at the customer service I received a few weeks ago. I tried to book an appointment to do a shadow root balayage on April 28th 2022 online. I booked it and a few hours later I received a notification it had been cancelled. Alicia then called me and left a voicemail saying I had booked 2 appointments by accident. No worries. But then left the call to have a quick conversation, she returned to say that the stylist didn't feel comfortable booking me on a Saturday due to me cancelling once and no-showing the other last year. Which the second I did not no-show, I actually called ahead to let them know I was unable to come in. While I understand salons policies, I felt like the way it was handled was not professional. And I was not offered another stylist or appointment time. Considering the 3 appointments I have kept, I always tip and arrive early, I'm disappointed. Life happens. Considering most of the ladies that work there have active duty husbands and know the struggles of unexpected duty, long hours and just the pain that the military is itself, I thought that they would be more understanding. Especially since I had discussed my work and lifestyle with the stylists multiple times. Also, I've always been willing to pay their prices. This is one of the most over priced salons. The last time I was here I paid $135 (not including tip) for all over color. I have left 5 star reviews on FB. I considered myself a fan and valued customer of Skye Bar but I will not be returning. read more

Skye Bar: My experience at Skye Bar Salon. I understand that other people may have had a good outcome at Skye Bar, but I need to share my experience because when it comes to something as important as your hair, you want the good, the bad, and the ugly. I had a consultation before my apt. And the lady (Natalie) seemed to know what I wanted and said that she would text me before my apt. To work out color. Natalie did not text me before my apt. When I went in the day of, my hair was extremely long and close to my natural color with a tint of red. I added a before picture and labeled it on this post. I posted and labeled a picture of what I asked for (which was my hair without any dye and had my extensions in) and I wanted only a few inches taken off so that my extensions would only be for volume. I did not want a straight across cut either. Natalie did a dry cut on my hair and did not show me how much she was taking off OR if it was ok for the amount of hair she cut. As you can see in the after pictures, it's very much shorter than I wanted AND straight across. She told me she had to take that much off for the extensions to match the length BUT If you look at my after picture you can see that my hair extensions are now longer than my hair and it looks awful. On top of the terrible cut, she also placed the extensions in the worst positions. My hair is thinnest at the crown and she placed multiple tape ins where they are clearly visible and almost impossible to hide. My hair looks greasy in the after picture because Natalie also did not wash my hair before installing the extensions. What salon doesn't wash your hair before installing tape ins?! As for the color, I told her I did not want to go darker than my roots (my roots/natural color is shown in the photo of what I asked for). Somehow, she managed to go WAY darker than my roots and the extensions did not match at all. As a side note, At one point Natalie asked the stylist next to her for help with applying my hair dye and instead of combing out a big knot in my hair, this stylist used both hands and physically ripped my hair in half to get the knot out. I saw my hair literally falling to the ground. The salon owner seemed nice and told me that she gave me a discount but l ended up paying full price. I was quoted $250 at the consultation for everything and even though I left the salon bawling my eyes out in anger and sadness I still left spending $250 + tip. Where's the discount when I paid the exact price I was told I would pay before the apt? Overall Natalie seems extremely unskilled and I will never go back here and I urge you not to take the risk either. I am now left with short hair (compared to what I came in with and wanted), that's cut straight across, way too dark, doesn't match my extensions, terribly placed extensions, hair ripped out. I feel so defeated after growing my hair out for YEARS...There's more negative I could say, but you get the jist. 0/10 read more

I went in to get a full highlight. I ended up getting a full balayage instead because I was talked into it's practicality. I was going for a icy blonde color. I ended up loving the color as I left the salon. I didn't wash my hair for 2.5 days. When I washed and air dried my hair, I found out that my hair is back to the color it was before I went to the salon. It's a yellowy blonde. Also there's horrible chunky streaks. It for sure doesn't even look like I got a FULL balayage either. I'm disappointed I spent over $200 on my hair when the only thing people notice different is my cut. I basically paid $200 for a haircut. The salon is really nice and I had a good experience there. I'm just disappointed in my results. Update: They're salon policy is if I'm not satisfied within 3 days they'll fix it for free- My hair was not washed until the 3rd day so until that third day I didn't know what my hair looked like straight, since I still had the curl in my hair. By the time I realized what my hair looked like naturally, it was too late. AND not to mention when my hair was blow dried at the salon, how could the stylist look at the chunky part of my roots and think it looked good??? I can't see the back of my head so I couldn't tell it was like that. read more

The atmosphere is great and I am happy with my hair color but be warned......ask about prices before you get anything done!! My hair is shorter than shoulder length, I had highlights and lowlights with root shadowing and a toner...pretty much what I always get but I was charged $368!!! I've NEVER paid that much before and there's no real justification for the high price. The prices alone will stop me from ever going back! read more

I just got a hair cut there, I was expecting to get my hair washed , cut and blow dried . I got a dry cut which turned out nice. Was just odd that I didn't get my hair washed or blowed dry . Also I was due to get my cut at 10 and when I got there , they didn't know I had an appointment .Not to mention she only spent 5 min on my hair. You can knock out so many services at ONE place here, which I love! I get my roots done by Brooke because she's really particular about my greys. She coats them every which way and was extra careful to not dye the skin around my hairline - I can't stand it when people get dye all over my ears and face! They use shampoos and products that are top of the line. Fancier than what I use at home, and I thought I was pretty bougee about hair care products. The salon itself is very cute. They have the good shampoo bowls that are actually comfy. Coffee and water. Parking is easy - there's street parking right out front. Pricing is fair - on the higher end, but they use really great products. Not the cheap stuff. Makes a big difference in your outcome. I've been for blow outs, bleach, haircuts etc. I've seen lashes, extensions and makeup being done while I was there. One stop shop! read more

I called around 1130a.m and asked for a shampoo, blow dry and straighten. They got me in fast and said I would be able to come in around 12:15. When I got there I was immediately greeted and we went back to wash my hair. I don't know the ladies name but she was super gentle with my head and super friendly. The problem started when she was blow drying my hair with a blow dryer than was blowing cool air. It was about 40 minutes in and my hair was still soaking wet and she was soo slow. (I did not ask for a blow out.) so at this point I just said I would let it air dry and I was ready to leave. I was still charged $35 for a soaking wet head. Then another lady called me when I was driving home asking why I was upset because she could see I wasn't happy. Props for calling because that's good customer service, but instead she was defending the lady blow drying my hair saying blow outs take an hour and it's a slow process. I said I didn't ask for a blow out and she said the lady must've been confused. But why would I get a blow out and ask for it to be straightened?! Don't go here!! read more
