Not sure where all the negativity is coming from but I had a great experience. Walked in at eight am and was greeted warmly by a girl with short hair. She got me checked in and I waited three minutes for Alex. She cuts good hair! Bangs are banging and my hair feels great. During my cut, three other girls were taking down Christmas decorations and sweeping and mopping. Music is nice. Smiles all around, for the most part. It's not an over the top friendly place (no hugs or fake conversations) but it's not cold or depressing or uncomfortable. Just the way I like it. I'll be back in two weeks for a bang trim. What I asked for and received are two different things. I asked for a certain style, did not receive that style, in fact the hair in the back is cut choppy and not a good straight cut, and the layering requested in the pic I gave was not given. Of course they offered for me to return today to fix it or another stylist which I'd have to pay to help fix it a week from now. Somehow that just doesn't set right with me. I asked for the very best person and was willing to pay quite a bit as I haven't been to a salon in 10 years. Broke my heart to walk out of there like I had to (very unhappy). Felt rushed especially with the curling iron portion. I did not request a wave flip, the picture I gave was for an under end curl. Anyway...the style I asked for was nothing like what I was given. Booked an appointment for 6/10 at 2:45. Got there early and waited in the parking lot for an hour. When we went it the lady said the appointment was for 6/11 at 2:45. That may be so on their end but I specifically went through the stylist online to try and get an appointment on Tuesday. Not a bad experience but an annoying day to say the least. read more

I have been coming to Wild Olive for almost 3 years now. I came in this past Friday to see Rimika my normal stylist for a simple all over color and haircut. We looked at swatches together and picked the perfect brown. Well little did I know the owner Lisa and manager Hayli don't stock the hair colors and dye in the back like they should, which resulted in Rimika dying my hair RED!!!! Rimika told me the owner doesn't supply them with that they need so she had to mix formulas together in hopes to find the brown we decided on. Well this is the Owners "Lisa" problem but also Rimika's problem. If she did not have the correct hair color in the back she should have been up front and honest. Well after turning my hair red,. She tried to fix it by toning my hair. Well I got home and my hair is blackish and the ends of my hair and RED at the root. Well I messaged Rimika immediately and told her we have to fix this. So I returned to the salon the next day Saturday. She tried to dye my hair again and toned it. Well sure enough it's still RED!!! I was told by Rimika that the only way she could cover the red, she had dyed my hair the previous day was to go jet black. Well now my hair has been dyed/toned 5 times in 24 hours. It's dry/burnt. We quite naturally I asked for a refund. Well I was denied the refund. I've ask 3 times to please refund my money. I didn't ask for red hair!!! I didn't ask for black hair!!! The owner Lisa, Hayli and Jalisa at the front office refuse to give me a refund. I will post photos below of my hair and my poor burnt scalp. They won't even honor a deep condition treatment. My hair was butchered by a someone new at a salon that I've been to before. I had random layers & god awful bangs. Wild Olive put confidence back in my hair! This place really felt promising at first, and I was excited because I haven't went to a salon in a long time and my mother recommended me this place and her hair was wonderful. I went, had references for my hairstyle, and it was a little more alternative, but i've seen the work of some of the stylist and I felt confident going and i was trying to be very clear what I wanted. I wanted layers, and intense layers, what I got instead was a mess of insanely cut hair in random places, and my ends look HORRIBLE. I never write reviews or try to tear places down, but when I got home I was SOBBING because it was so bad. The stylist, and people were all very nice and sweet, and the vibe of the place was nice. I just couldn't believe how much I paid and I just hated it, it was the worst haircut i've ever gotten, and I wish I never dropped the money I did because I was devastated. The location is pretty good. Easy to find. The young lady who welcomed me was sweet. She offered me coffee, then asked me if it was true I hadn't had a haircut in ten years. We laughed and chat for a bit while the stylist finished up her client and happily welcomed me over. I was 10-15 minutes early and got started exactly on time. I noticed everyone was very good about sanitizing and cleaning. The stylists seemed professional and friendly while I was observing. The decor in the waiting area was awkwardly placed and sort of dated. There was some sort of either burn marks or hair die on some of the chairs? I couldn't tell, I just knew it needed to be replaced. MY hair has not had much action, obviously, but I have award winning colorists and salon owners in my family, so I tend to notice the set up of the establishments when I walk in. The salon itself didn't look bad. Just a few little things I noticed. The young lady who cut my hair was SO helpful and reassuring. I instantly knew she was genuinely listening to my concerns, desires and I felt heard. So I was ready for my first hairstyle. While she was finishing up, one of her coworkers walked by and said "oh don't worry, I'll go shampoo your next client since she's been waiting forever." As she ushered the client along, openly glaring in our direction. The poor girl looked at me embarrassed, then looked back at her snarky coworker and said "I'm so sorry, I didn't realize she was here. I lost track of time." So, here both of us are. Feeling awkward and rushed. The client getting a shampoo probably felt uncomfortable too. I don't think I need to elaborate how this should've gone differently and how it would've been beneficial to everyone had the rude woman (not the same one who checked me in) just communicated to my stylist that her next client was here. My hair came out fabulous. She did the closest thing to what I wanted, given my hair being so thin. I'm extremely happy with it, and I've been trying out some things she taught me. She took what I wanted, applied it best she could to my hair type without butchering my natural aesthetic. Educated me and helped me feel comfortable. Would I go back? Yes. Would I recommend? Yes. Wild Olive Salon in Jacksonville NC completely messed up my wifes hair extensions she had a consultation with Alexis on 12/04/24 said it would be $758 for the installation and the hair in total. Alexis then told my wife that if she could find 100% Human Hair Wefts she would install then for her. My wife searched and found hair, then made and appointment for 12/10/24 to get then put in. Her appointment was at 11 AM. My wife got there 20 minutes early and she came home crying at 3:00 PM. My wife had told Alexis she didn't want the hair if it didn't come out blended and natural looking, and that she was willing to pay for a haircut to blend in her natural hair with the hair extension, so Alexis did the hair extensions for around three hours then washed my wife's hair put a gloss on it then brought my wife back to the chair with wet hair and started cutting it my wife said she only cut her hair very quickly has her next client came in. She cut the hair and then left it to another girl to blow dry and style it mind you my wife didn't want it styled she just wanted it straight, so my wife told them not to style and she started heading up to the counter to pay. She paid $278 an told them to take it out as she cried in the store cause it was thick on top extremely thin at the bottom so then took it out for free. And they will not provide a refund as it is against policy read more

I went here expecting amazing work but I was kinda disappointed. I got extensions and payed a total of $800 for the hair, service,etc. within a week many of the beads fell out and the hair did to. I went back and they fixed it for free, then another part is now falling out. She really didn't listen to what we wanted done. I have natural curly hair and asked for the curly extensions and she ordered the straighten ones. We also ask for the roots to be faded because my natural hair is dark and right now I'm blonde and she ordered all blonde. The girl wanted to tone my hair to match the extensions better and whatever she used didn't work. So many people have pointed out the difference in colors. We paid $150 and hour (they told us it was $135 but up charged us) for their service and I was expecting better. Wasn't expecting for my extensions to become undone at all. I think it didn't help that she was actually timing herself while she was doing these trying to hurry them up. There are girls there who just sit around and just talk to the people doing hair and it does get annoying because it's making them lose concentration on what they are doing. I'm sad to say, but I will not be returning to the wild olive salon. If you want extensions I do not recommend them. read more

I went in for a color and cut and was charged 280$ and the second time around I came back for the same thing minus the cut and this time was charged 390$???? They literally have you sitting there wasting your time and money to sit on a chair just to not get the results you want. The work is very mediocre and soo expensive. I got my hair colored as the same color as my roots and honestly I could've done a box dye for the color, and a one inch trim... (fyi I had only colored my hair once before this, and it was virgin hair before that) that was 220$. And she blow dried my hair, which I didn't ask for, and left that shit so brittle, didn't add any product or hair oil, it was honestly ugly so I went home washed my hair afterwards. WORST SALON EVER!! YELP doesn't let me put zero stars, this place doesn't deserve any at all!!! I scheduled a consultation and specifically explained what I wanted and I had the formula of what I wanted done to my hair. The stylist named Victoria spent over six hours on my hair, when she was done I expressed how I didn't like it. I noticed my roots were black, the blonde highlights were very bright yellow/orange. The stylist did not follow the formula I gave her, she decided to do the opposite and it left my hair looking orange/yellow. I contacted the Salon and expressed my concerns and I even explained how I wasn't satisfied at all with my hair and I asked to speak to a manager about this issue. Instead of being understanding the receptionist Trishelle begins blaming the quality of the water in Jacksonville, NC and informs me that's why my hair turned orange/yellow. I found it very odd that instead of apologizing for a huge mistake the stylist did on my hair the receptionist decided to come up with a unbelievable story to try and cover up this mistake. I inform the receptionist that I want the orange/yellow removed from my hair. The receptionist tells me that Victoria is sick and will be out for the week. Then I get a call about a minute after getting off the phone with the receptionist and she tells me she gave me the incorrect information and that Victoria isn't sick she got confused with a different stylist. When I went in to my appointment I walked up to the front desk and at last minute I get told that Victoria won't be able to make it in because she missed her flight. I never received a courtesy call about this! Another stylist named Ariana begins telling me she can do my hair. She then tells me that her prices are different than Victorias and she charges $200, which is a huge price difference from Victoria which she charged me $150 and she begins informing me that the reason why she charges more is because of her experience. I then inform Ariana that I'm not satisfied with my hair and I want the orange/yellow removed. So then, she quotes me $155 for half the job. Ariana did inform me that Victoria didn't process my highlights all the way, this is why my hair turned orange/yellow and she also added a golden toner when I never asked for this. When Ariana was on the last step of blow drying my hair to show me the way the color came out I noticed the orange was still there, it never was removed. Ariana kept re-washing my hair each time applying a toner then removing it then re applying it and it kept getting worse. She clearly didn't know what she was doing because she kept contacting her Manager asking for help. My hair was very orange/yellow and it looked way worse than before. When I expressed how unhappy and devastated I was no one seemed to care. I never received an apology, instead I felt like I was belittled and the entire staff started attacking me with words left and right and not one staff member made me feel comfortable. Instead of owning up to their mistakes they began blaming me and informing me that I didn't understand the process. My hair is completely ruined!!! at this moment my hair looks dark gray with orange streaks! This is not even close to the formula I gave them. I specifically went in to get full head of blonde highlights and 7 ash roots. I didn't receive what I wanted! I was threatened by the manager, they tried to charge me for services. The manager was not apologetic and instead of taking care of this huge issue she was not understanding and tried to argue with me. What a nightmare! This salon needs to take training classes on customer service. Very unprofessional and rude! read more

There was a hair mishap that happened when I first visited the salon. Lisa reached back out to me to come in so she could fix it. And that she did! She did a beautiful job! I went in for a consultation three days ago where she explained all the upkeep and installation. She worked around my cowlick and very fine hair. I cannot recommend her enough!!! The table had someone else's hair on it that I just had Cassandra remove. This waxing tech hesitate, miss big areas, & can't lay a straight line. The tech & salon was also not stocked for waxing. They ran out of supplies 1/4 way thru procedure. I ended up waiting an additional time for supplies that should have been there. By this time another Tech (Snyder) joined to assist Casandra. If you want a waxing ask for SNYDER. She knows what & how to wax. The 2 stars are for salon and Casandra. Snyder bailed out the salon. Try to schedule appt. with Snyder for waxing. This time the hostess said, that they (Salon) will not allow that. But she will ask. The salon said no. I'll be going elsewhere. read more

I have been to this salon twice. The first time was wonderful but the second time was a complete nightmare. I was scheduled with Apex and she was 30 minutes late to my appointment, which usually I have no issue with, but the receptionist shampooed me and then Apex shampooed me again. She did a wonderful time cutting my hair but when she went to diffuse my hair the blow dryer was extremely hot. I sat there and tried to bare with it and deal with the heat until she touch the skin behind my ear directly with the diffuser. As she touched me I pulled away and said "that's really hot" and the continued to diffuse my hair at the same temperature. I got home and asked my husband to make sure I didn't have any burns and I DID! So we called the salon and told them what happened and emailed pictures, for them to say the blister was a clogged poor. They tried to make things right by giving me a gift card on my account and offering a scalp treatment. But all I wanted was them to acknowledge that I was burned and that the blow dryer was too hot to be using on a customer. First of all, I never leave bad reviews. I try to give everyone benefit of the doubt or excuse things as "maybe they're just having a bad day." But I can't excuse this. Do not get your hair cut by the stylist Apex. This is the worst experience I've ever had at a hair salon. My hair was almost to my butt when I went in there. I hadn't had my hair professionally cut it in 4 years. I knew I needed a bit of length off to get rid of the dead ends. I also wanted some simple long layers and face framing. No big deal right? At least it shouldn't have been. Picture #1 is what I asked for. Pictures #2 & #3 are what I got. After my hair was blow dried I tried to express to the stylist that I was not happy with it. She wouldn't listen or offer a solution. She just kept saying "This is what you asked for" "I did what you asked" (might I add she said this AFTER telling me that she had all this experience, that she knew what she was doing and telling me "I know you probably don't understand the science of hair styling." So I was putting trust in her. But that's beside the point) After expressing that I wasn't happy with it she dismissed me and led me to the front desk to pay even though she had already explained (prior to drying my hair) that she would do some texturizing and face framing after drying. I paid and left but when I got home I was in tears because I could not believe what she did to my hair. It's honestly inexcusable. I don't know how this was one of their level 2 stylists. After speaking with another stylist outside of this establishment, she said that this should've been a basic haircut. I did not ask for anything difficult. But what I got was a "dog ear" cut. This should've never happened. The only saving grace was being able to go back and have another stylist take some of the weight out of the front layers (picture #4). It still isn't nearly what I asked for and I'm appalled. If you choose to go here, please don't choose this stylist. But I'd avoid going here altogether considering this is what they believe is an acceptable skill level to allow within their salon. read more
