Had brunch with my best friend and their family it is their birthday. The Ambiance in the restaurant is excellent I thought it went with the airport the lights are propellers it's very bright very lit open. Food is delicious. I gave four thumbs due to the fact that the server was a little behind time checking on refills for coffee also my best friend couldn't find the butter for pancakes. It is a great place if you are visiting Kansas in Topeka definitely go to the sky restaurant at the airport it is definitely highly recommended as one of the great places to have a great brunch in Kansas. This is a neat little breakfast/brunch & lunch restaurant nestled within Billard's Airport, it's on the outskirts of Oakland. I wanted to try it out with my family as I'm always looking for something new and different. We had 5 people in our party for Sunday Breakfast. It is a buffet and the price was pretty decent. They have a few cocktails available that I saw on their menu. I ordered a Bloody Mary which was ok, a little lemony for my liking, the server told me that was the 1st Bloody Mary she ever made. The buffet was not too bad, when I read the menu online it said fried chicken, but it was chicken tenders-which weren't bad, I was just expecting fried chicken. They had scrambled eggs, bacon, b&g, pancakes, diced potatoes, salad, fruit, cottage cheese, some desserts, overall the atmosphere was neat, there were large floor to ceiling windows so that you could see the runway-it actually started to down pour as soon as I got there. Great breakfast buffet on Saturdays and Sundays until two. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, French toast, biscuits with andouille gravy, breakfast, potatoes, salad, bar, yogurt, parfait bar, as well as some rotating options every week. Food is always fresh and hot. Servers are very friendly and helpful. Restaurant is clean as well as the bathrooms. Definitely becoming one of our regular stops on Sundays. read more

Just opened- Sky is set on the Capitol City's airport- Phillip Billard in Topeka. They've been working the bugs out. We've been there for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Hopefully this weekend we'll get to go to dinner. It serves as kind of a diner-esque environment during the day, and it's to be a nicer spot for the evenings, which Topeka needs. The food has all been good. We've had shrimp salad, avocado toast, steak and eggs, brunch buffet (my fave so far), cheeseburger, and pulled pork sandwich. They're sorting their flavors out- so somethings maybe haven't had enough spice.Don't miss this place and keep going back! read more

First time to try Sky it is cute. Before 8:30a on a Saturday and the breakfast buffet was out of eggs and French toast. They did bring more after asking. All the food was cold. The silverware had skinny round handles that was very hard to hold and control. Two out of three of our knives were dirty. For $16 I expected a little better. read more

Dynamite breakfast buffet when we visited on Saturday morning. The restaurant had a sizable crowd awaiting the 8:00am opening yet everyone was seated immediately and the waitstaff was all over it! Service? As good as it gets, prompt, personable and attentive. Leadership skill clearly showed thru, in staff training and motivation as well as organization! Food quality and variety on the Saturday buffet was excellent. Who would have expected tender, smoky burnt ends or wonderfully seasoned breakfast sausage on a breakfast buffet? Amazing transformation of this restaurant - beautiful place. We both ordered the Swiss and Brisket Omelet with Hash Browns. The brisket was tender which made the omelet delicious. Our server kept my coffee continuously filled (bonus points!). We will return. read more

Food is good but service is poor. This hasn't got much better since they reopened. Not sure if it was the lunch kitchen crowd or what.

Food was great, bartender and drinks were great. Bartender checked on table many more times than server. The wait person was awful. She left us waiting to order, to get our check and we finally had to ask someone else for the check. Ambiance was lovely. We will be back but hope we get a different server. We had breakfast at Sky this morning and it was delicious! This was our first visit but it won't be our last. The service was top notch and the buffet option was excellent and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and the kitchen kept the buffet well stocked with hot, fresh food plus the fruit was cool and crisp. The decor is beautiful and large windows provide a good view of planes taking off and landing. Had a brief visit with Crystal, the manager, when she stopped by to see if everything was satisfactory. She was fun to talk to and it appears the staff all work very well together which Is always a plus. Go check it out and see "Donna" the robot that takes dirty dishes back to the kitchen automatically. And if you're lucky, you might get to see a couple of Blackhawk helicopters land right outside like we did. read more

We have been to Sky on 2 separate occasions. Both experiences we have been met with smiling faces and great service. The building is clean and the view is fantastic. Watching the airplanes is always fun. We have also enjoyed the food. The first time we had the brunch buffet. On the buffet there was eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, diced potatoes, Shepards Pie, buffalo macaroni and cheese and a whole fruit/yogurt bar. Everything was on the buffet was delicious! We paired our buffet with Bloody Mary special. Our drinks were well made and had great full flavor. The second experience was during lunch menu service. Our party had the Philly, shrimp Po Boy and fried chicken sandwich. Each sandwich was well made with plenty of toppings and sauces. Each was served with a side including hand cut fries, onion rings and sweet potato waffle fries. My dad said his fried chicken sandwich was the best he ever had! The prices are reasonable and portions are large. Definitely worth the short drive to Oakland for breakfast buffet or a fantastic sandwich for lunch. read more

Waited 45 minutes for my food while the rest of my party ate the lackluster breakfast buffet. When I finally got my shrimp and grits it was bland and disappointing. The only other person in our group that ordered off the menu got his food delivered on 3 separate plates 5 minutes apart, hash browns, then 2 eggs over easy, and finally bacon after he finished everything else. There's bacon on the buffet. Why would it take 10 minutes to deliver? Our server seemed inexperienced and clueless. No spoons with the coffee, only refills when we flagged him down. Overall terrible, which is too bad because the place is cute and would be fun to watch the planes. Disappointing read more
