After interviewing with several and not really feeling like their services aligned with what I needed, someone suggested that what I really needed was a "life coach". "A life coach?!" I thought "that sounds so...fluffy". But after so many failed business coach attempts I decided to Google "life coach Seattle" and found AnnMarie. I was drawn to her experience as a therapist and a life coach and we set an appointment. I cried when we finished - she asked questions of me I hadn't ever considered before. That no other business coach or leader had asked of me. I knew immediately I would hire her, but what I didn't know then was what an incredible impact she would have on not only my life but my career. What I realized after we started working together was that the business coaches were so narrowly focused on just that - the business side of things. They could help me build out a plan to advance my career. But what they couldn't do was expertly blend that with what I was feeling and needing in my personal life. You see, the pandemic took me from traveling every week and missing my children's and husband's lives to being present at home. After a year of floundering I had to ask myself tough questions - was it time to find a different career that would allow me to spend more time with my family? When our first session of 5 was complete I realized two things - I not only accomplished the goals we set out to accomplish together and felt better at the end of those 5 sessions than I had in 12 months, but also that I absolutely needed AnnMarie as a sounding board on an ongoing basis. So the end of our 5 sessions began a relationship that has now spanned many many months together. AnnMarie has helped me navigate my career - everything from working through whether to stay or to go (I chose to stay, and she helped me realize I actually could have both family and career - I just needed better time management), as well as how to navigate a job offer that came quickly on the heels of deciding to stay (which, I am convinced the job offer was largely due to the confidence I now felt after working with AnnMarie).
