Outdoor patio. Live music weekends (or maybe just Oktoberfest?)

Different and nice diversion. No traffic on Tuesday morning. Kitchen and saloon. Cancel Ron Arceneaux. Okay, after eating to terrible garlic parmesan fries and getting zero service from sole employee in empty place.. Bring a picnic

For the views alone this course gets 5 stars. On a smog free day this course would rate much higher, if there were more stars to give. The course cost $17 for a day pass, per person. You can rent 2 disc's for $5. The bathrooms are clean, but small, including the sinks. Wear hiking shoes or at least shoes with good support. I asked how long the course takes an average person to complete, and I was told there's no lights out there and what time the grill closes, if I plan on eating after. I took that to mean this course is so long, no one finishes, so don't let the sunset or you will be lost in the wilderness til dawn. There's 27 hole here. I was told if it was too much after the 9th hole, that is a good place to stop, because the 10th is right out back of lodge near the grill. I'm not in the best shape, but I'm not in the worst. I'd say I'm an average person. I've disc golfed enough times to own my own disc's, but not enough to own a disc bag. This course took a solid 3 hours for me to complete including rests and enjoying the view. It took me an average of 5 throws per hole. I had a lot of fun. Great hike. Bring water. The view was what this place is all about. I did not experience any racism here. I did experience very direct and straight to the point help, so if you are looking to be coddled or have tenderness shown, this might not be the place. I appreciate the honest directness given by the staff. If anything they were under staffed and that nonsense stuff has no place or time here. I did try the burger. It was good. My party also had the Philly cheesesteak, which looked better than the burger I had. Beers were big n cold. Parking was plenty and easy.

Winter golf is good golf

Fantastic DG and a must check off the bucketlist! And great burgers and beer to round out the round!

It's located at the 10th hole of the frisbee park. 23 minutes from my house it's my newest best spot ever.

This place is amazing!! Read they were racist so I was hesitant but they are farrrrrr from racist as there's more Asians and Browns there than anything and the service was amazing, the burgers are fantastic and the beers were tall, cold and not full of foam. The drive up there is a glorious trip full of camp grounds and beautiful Pines.

It could be described as an "extreme disc golf" experience. Located about 90 minutes north east of Los Angeles, Mountain High's Sky High disc golf course is likely the most unique golfing experiences you will ever have. With amazing views of the Antelope Valley and a playing environment combining elements of forest and desert surroundings, it's well worth the drive if you are an avid disc golfer. The course is located at the North Resort, 7,800 feet above sea level. The course is divided into three 9 hole sections, giving the player a total of 27 holes of play. The first 9 holes are mostly down hill shots, mixed in with some shorter holes where getting around big redwood trees will determine birdies and pars from bogies and worse. The second set of 9 holes (10-18) features the signature hole of the course, # 11, which is a massive 546 foot shot on an equally massive downhill slope. The rest of the second set of 9 holes are mainly tough up hill shots. Right before hole # 12, there is the "sacrificial ledge" where those willing to give up some non-essential discs can let them soar off a ledge which drops into a canyon. We threw a few out and watched some fly for nearly 30 seconds until it was too small to follow. The last set of 9 (19-27) feature a mix of up and down hill shots and a few more through forest settings with huge trees. Now for some other small details... - Cost to play is $7.00 for a day pass (I know some other places online, including their official website says "per round"...this is not the case, or not at least on the day I went). You can also buy a season pass for $35.00. - The lodge sells discs as well as drinks, snacks and food. They had the BBQ going, selling hot dogs and burgers at decent prices (I think they were $4.00?) There's also seating outside in the back, where they had music playing. - Alcoholic beverages ARE allowed on the course, it has to be in cans not bottles due to the chances of broken glass. - I would highly suggest that those who play this course should be in decent physical condition. The course is essentially located along hiking trails totaling two and a half miles. Since the mountain air is quite thin, even those who are in great shape will feel the effects of this course and all the hiking involved in playing it. - Since it is located 7,800 feet above sea level, your discs will likely fly quite differently than at lower elevations. This means your discs will be more stable than usual. Right handed back hand throwers will need to put a TON of anhyzer on your shots to prevent it from turning hard left. Many shots on this course will require you to throw anhyzer shots due to baskets being on the right side of big trees and such. Also remember that being the air is thin, your throws will tend to fly a lot further than usual. - This course is in the middle of the wilderness, which means the possibility of coming across wildlife is quite possible. One of those animals you might come across are rattlesnakes. So be aware of where you're walking and where your discs land. NEVER put your hand in bushes (especially those Buckthorn bushes...really sharp thorns) in which you can't see where your disc is. - Wear sunscreen and keep hydrated. - The course is located off of HWY 2. Coming from the town of Wrightwood, turn right on Table Mountain Road. - The course is only operational during the summer months (from April to October I believe). Call for more info on hours and days of operation. Have fun at this amazing course!!!

I've been playing disc golf for a little over a year and heard a lot of things about Chavez Ridge,…read moreand most of it warning that it's not beginner-friendly, nor is it for the faint of heart, and I mean that literally because you'll get some really good cardio in just playing this course. Most of the course is on the ridge so you're rarely playing level ground. Wear good shoes. This course favors left-handed and forearm throwers. If you curve too far off to the left on most holes, you'll pay a very steep, and I mean steep price for it. I made sure to bring discs that can be easily replaced because you do have a chance of losing one or two. I'm surprised in a good way by the condition of the course. The tee-pads are rubber and long enough to make a good run-up while you throw, the baskets were all in great shape and there wasn't too much tagging. Really good players could easily play this entire course with mid-ranges and putters. I used my driver quite a bit, but I don't have much arm speed. I did OK. A few birdies, a few pars, and more bogies than I care to admit! It's very easy to get, "Chavezed," which means if your disc doesn't land flat it might decide to roll all the way down a steep hill and into the thick brush. Consider yourself forewarned! (; It's a dry and dusty course, but some of it is in the shade. Don't forget to carry some water. I was there on a Friday morning, with a few players around but not bad. I hear it gets really crowded on weekends. It's a little tricky to navigate. You'll need UDisk to find your way around, and even then it's a bit confusing. I was fortunate enough to join up with a group that knew the course so that made it a lot more fun. I used Google Maps directions: Chavez Ridge Disc Golf Course, Solano Canyon Dr &, Park Row Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90012. It put me really close to the first hole. You pull off the road and park head in. Be sure and use your parking brake! There's no water or restroom on the course. Too bad the city can't pony up for a porta-potty. I'm really glad I played here and I'm glad I waited to play it until I was somewhat ready. I'll be back. It's a great course and there are some spectacular views of LA and Dodger Stadium. This place is one of LA's gems!

If you've haven't been "Chavezed", you ain't livin'!…read more CRDGC plays along the ridge and steep slopes of Chavez Ravine. I'm mostly throwing putters off the tee and the occasional Roc3 or Atlas. That facilitates the tight lines and sticky landings needed here. I've watched many a' card-mate throw too many a faster-speed disc, only to watch it land, edge up and do The Chavez (that inevitable 100'-200' roll aaaaaalllllll the way down the hill). Similarly, 30' putts can bounce off the cage and suffer this fate...that's how steep the slopes are. Throwing mids and putters also helps avoid errant kicks off the trees which, with a higher speed disc will result in disaster here. So, the course is a real workout for your upshot/short game accuracy. I shot -5 (6 birds/1 bog') yesterday afternoon utilizing the above disc mix. Sadly, idiotic vandals have bruised this course pretty badly; Holes #15-18 are completely gone. And many tee signs throughout the course have been graffitti'd over. Abhorrent. On a happier note, new holes have been added; after you finish up the western slope, head up across the intersection to 4 newly added holes. They play up...then down, taking you back to the spot where we've always dropped down to hit the eastern slope's holes. These new holes are challenging - offering the first real chances to throw a faster speed disc and air it out a bit. Many trees have been removed recently due to blight and fire precautions. The pre-blight course was, IMO, more difficult but this newly updated track presents a variety of risk-reward options that still equal a ton of fun. I had a blast. Shout out to the course curators - great work and thank you!

Wow this park is amazing, it was very windy and foggy but the kids didn't mind. We brought blankets so through them over us lol and walked over. They have swings when you first walk up, but if you walk a bit further they have the playground. They also have a tennis or bad mitten court and basketball courts too. The playground is so nice and clean and they have a cool zip line for the kids to play on, they loved that so much and had a blast going on it lol. It even has a cute little gazebo such a beautiful park. The girls had a blast we would love to come here again. If you have never been to MacKay Park you should if you have little ones it's really beautiful here. Even if you don't it's peaceful and in the mountains and so lovely. The parking lot is pretty big too so plenty for everyone. Have a beautiful day, be kind to everyone :) Aloha

I ask a couple guys that were playing if they knew anywhere close by I can buy one. I tell them my story and one dude offers to sell me one of his old discs. Sweet! And here comes other dude. Starts haggling and making stories up about discs without flight numbers. Truthfully, I've enjoyed other courses more, but I'm still glad I was able to play at such a legendary course. I played in the middle of the summer, which means summer camps caused the closure of some of the holes. It was a hot, dry, and dusty day but I enjoyed every minute of it. It was a challenging course that required a good variety of shots to make par. I was sub-par most of the time, but I sure had fun trying! I used the Udisc app to navigate. Even then we had difficulty finding the proper tee pad and basket on several holes. We also had to wait for day campers, park goers, and horseback riders passing through where we needed to throw on several holes. I'd like to come back and play here in the fall and winter when it's not so hot and more of the holes are open.
