Puppies "Brothers 8 Months old." They had a great time playing up and down the snow hills. Walk a 100 yards on the trail, and you will see a little cove for the dogs and kids to play, sled in deep untouched snow. A hidden gem. Safe where we went, no traffic, away from the busy highway. We so enjoyed the puppies first time experiencing the snow with our puppies. TIP: STOP. Weekends: You need a day parking pass $5.00 Where do you buy one. At the visitors center, before going up to the end of Wrightwood. Weekdays you do not need a day parking pass. Rules not unforced during the week days. Top of Wrightwood. Plenty of Parking. The creation is beautiful. We all need beauty. There is a lot of ugliness, evil, and error being floated around by various persons so it's nice to be in a place where the unadulterated beauty of the creator shines forth. Wrightwood with all the trees and the streams and the mountains and the birds and the other animals and the snowflakes and the ice and the rain and the sun and the wind and a pretty homes and the delightful architecture and the friendly people, and I hear the church is nice too. Yes I know there is more than one church and if there are other places of worship I apologize; I am not familiar with them.

The views going up and down are absolutely beautiful, so you really get to enjoy the scenery while riding. They also have several other activities to do, which is great if you're spending the day there. Just note there isn't a bundle for all rides it's pay-as-you-go for each activity. Overall, a super fun experience and definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

Parking was free when we got there (Monday) First stop is the kiosk (not tickets!) where you sign a waiver. They'll give you a little zip tie to show you're cleared for rides. After that, you buy tickets per ride and line up for whatever you want to do. You will not be able to do anything without the zip tie. Total wait time for us with kiosk and for the ride was about 2 hours, but it flew by. Parents waited in line for the coaster while kids played in the snow or hopped into shorter ride lines, smart setup. If you get the blonde coaster attendant, consider yourself lucky. She's stern but fair and keeps things from getting chaotic. Big Bear celebrity status, honestly. As you can see on the other reviews haha part of the experience. Heads up: the food area was messy and the restroom was out of toilet paper (crowds + kids = chaos). Come prepared and lower expectations there. That said, the wait was 100% worth it. My daughter loved it and we'll definitely be back. Another family recommended the night snow tubing, saying it's less crowded. Coaster rides are about $20, and bring quarters for lockers or leave your stuff in the car. Also, the tubing hill here is way more fun than the others in town. Fun, busy, chaotic, but totally worth it.

As I reread my previous review I realized that I had only seen a portion of the lake. In reality, the lake is huge. It extends towards 173 and allows for fishing and boating. A great way to spend time outdoors. I believe they sell California fishing licenses, fishing and boating supplies, and even boat rentals! There are separate parking lots for docking/boating and regular day parking. There are bathroom building facilities available. There are numerous trails, including part of Section C of the PCT runs through the Silverwood Lake SRA. There are many camping spaces and group camping available as well. In the times when I've camped here the ranger station has always been kind and knowledgeable, answering my many questions. I've only been to the marina store once or twice, but the staff was friendly and accommodating. I went to the Silverwood Lake SRA office for the first time recently and parked there while hiking part of the PCT. The lady there was very nice and helped me find my way. The peace officers are very nice and knowledgeable. I recently did some exploring and got lost. LOL. Shout Out to Officer Bakke for going above and beyond and helping me find the PCT on my birthday. That was the best birthday present. Thank you to the helpful men and women at California State Parks for keeping us safe. I would definitely recommend this park for hiking, camping, or boating. It's not safe to drink the water due to algae bloom. I wouldn't fish here either, but some people do it. No swimming during algae bloom as it can cause illness. Hiking: Depending on the trail you may or may not have shade, stay hydrated. Camping: Some campers like to play their music loud. So unfortunately, there's that. So glad this park is here in the area.
