Provided photos of the old box, the wooden post front & side, and new box with diagram of dimensions/bolt size prior to job. Received an ETA text a few minutes after the appointed time, which I appreciated. Kai and Pono went to work removing the old box and making a new plywood base for the new. They wanted to go to City Mill because he didn't have the right bolts. Told him ok to use what he had, and I would take care of it later. Otherwise, I would have given 5 stars. Additional $15 for materials and provided tip. Courteous and friendly. read more

UPDATE since owner replied: Would've been nice to know it would take a month for an estimate to renovate a kitchen and 2 bathrooms. I'm glad you were able to text me after I left a review. I had 4 other companies come out after you and they've all given us estimates in a few days. I waited a whole week after my last estimate to see if you would get back to us. I never leave reviews but I feel it's important for yelp customers to know my experience as it was very similar to 2 other reviews you had. I contacted companies based on Yelp reviews. Requested an estimate for a kitchen and bathroom renovation. Kai showed up and didn't take any notes or measurements of what we wanted done. At the end of the visit, he did take some pictures. Almost 3 weeks later and still didn't receive an estimate. If you're not interested in doing the job, just say so instead of leaving a potential customer hanging. read more

Used Kai, to install and replace a window ac unit at two of my properties. He arrived before scheduled time, after he gave me a fair price quote online. worked efficiently and and did a great job on the craftsmanship. The only thing that I would have wished he did differently is when removing the jealousies from the window, to stack it outside instead of on my bed. I had purchased 2 ceiling fans that needed to be installed. Both Home Depot and Lowes said if their was no ceiling fan originally there, their handyman would not install. I got a quote to have 2 ceiling fans installed by several handyman. I work with scheduling home maintenance, so I know how long it would normally take. Kai was the cheapest, and looking at his reviews, i decided to go with him. He was able to accommodate my time requested on such short notice. He notified me that the ceiling fans may need mounting boxes, and I understood what he meant. I already purchased those. He came in and was out in just over an hr. I contact Sky HI about some general handyman repairs. Kai was very responsive and set an appointment and came and looked to get me bids for the various jobs I was inquiring about. Then he ghosted me. People - in this technology age we've really got to get better about saying "no thank you" politely. It's OKAY to decline a job or an offer. Kei was super responsive when I posted ISO a handyman. We had a few small jobs, and Kei stopped by the day after to look into what we needed. He purchased the screen door and window we needed replacing and brought with him on the day of install. After our job was complete we mentioned we were looking to paint a few accent walls in the house, and Kei came through with our painting needs as well. Even though it this was planned as a first visit, common courtesy and having good customer relations should've prompted you to at least notify a potential customer that you're unable to make it so that way they can move onto another vendor. How would you like it if you schedule a new visit with a new doctor and you took time out of your busy schedule and you show up at the office only to be told they can't see you because the doctor had to go on an emergency?
