Absolutely love this place. In fact, this may be both my new obsession and my new favorite Chinese sit down in Tucson. My husband and I were so excited that this opened near us, so we rushed over to get some food. Appetizers ordered included the crab puffs, which are to die for. Full of filling. Delicious sweet and sour to come with them. Also ordered the fried pot-stickers and they were yummy. The sauce that comes with them could be used as its own drink (really, I drank some it was so good). We also ordered sesame chicken, which was on point. Thin strips of chicken and they were crispy and covered in delectable sauce. Mongolian beef was good, and comes with all of the fixings. I also ordered the lemon chicken, which is different depending on where you go. Here, they make it right--white chicken dipped and fried, then drizzled in sauce (I don't like places where they don't batter and fry the chicken). So very good. My husband also ordered one of the curry noodle dishes and he liked it so much he ended up eating all of the leftovers later that night. The curry noodles (vermicelli) had shrimp and chicken mixed in. Super yummy. We weren't able to save room for dessert but we checked in with Yelp and received a free dessert voucher that we'll have to use next time. Service here was great. My girlfriend and I are always looking for an authentic Asian restaurant. Both of us coming from good home cooking from our Asian house holds, we always look for that home cook feel. This is the closest place we've found. The staff is great, very accommodating. We like our food hot and when we asked them to make it that way, they delivered. The lion head meat balls are delicious, not dry and very flavorful and very filling. Come check this place out. It's new and it delivers the taste you're looking for. Update: We've gone back several times and have noticed they are inconsistent with the cooking. One of our favorite dishes from the beginning is the spicy Chong Qing chicken. The second time we got it the taste wasn't as strong as he first time, this one it felt like the chicken was just added to the spices and stir fried really quickly, not allowing the flavor to sink in. The sizzling eggplant was great, not super salty and the flavor was good. The eggplant was cooked amazingly. Overall, inconsistent but we have been finding new dishes we like. read more

My newest obsession due to the great lunch menu options/prices. They've got two options A or B, each option comes with your choice of fried rice or steamed rice, an egg roll or two wontons, a bowl of hot sour soup or egg drop soup and lastly your entree. The only major difference between lunch option A and B are the prices and the type of entree. Option A's ($6.25) are mostly vegetable/chicken based, while Option B's ($7.25) are mostly beef/shrimp based. Overall I am happy with this place, food is authentic and filling. The best part is that this place is walking distance from my office..which is a giant bonus. So far, I've tried their kung pao shrimp w/ steamed rice, hot and sour soup, and egg roll and it was delicious! Food would be a four. But there's a deduction of one star due to the following problems. We were feeling for actual and at first I didn't want to go here because the menu posted on yelp looked like white-washed Chinese food, a better Panda Express menu, if you will. But my boyfriend said we should try it before judging. Stepping in, service was quick and attentive and the menu given was completely different from what was posted on yelp. THERE WAS ACTUAL CHINESE ON IT! So now I know this was a legit place. But they don't give chopsticks unless asked, which kind of took away from the whole "oriental" experience. HOWEVER not everything was perfect. We had the fish maw soup as our beginning course and although they put in a lot of soup maw, unlike some of the other chinese restaurants I've been to in Phoenix, there wasn't much crab in our soup, much to my disappointment. Then my boyfriend found a price of plastic/glass in the soup and when asked, our waitress said that the container had accidentally shattered and may have gotten into the soup. That's a bit too dangerous for me and my boyfriend so the soup was on the house. For the remainder of the soup eating, we didn't find any problems with it. For our entrees, we ordered family style: roasted duck and mapo tofu. The duck was actually crispy for its skin but maintained a juiciness to it. It did not lack any flavor and I would give it a solid four. It was a bit too salty for my personal tastes for some of the pieces and I didn't enjoy the fat on the duck very much. The tofu was pretty good and did not break when poked at. It wasn't too spicy and there was still an underlying flavor. I'd give it a solid five because I like how they didn't put in chunks of the pepper that's usually in mapo tofu, instead it was either finely grinded or in the sauce. A big problem I did have with the place is the amount of rice they gave us. For a family style meal, the rice wasn't given in the red tub like most authentic Chinese restaurants. I'm not sure about it but the table next to us had it but they also had a party of 7 instead of 2. Instead we given to small bowls of rice that didn't really feel us up so we had to rely on the actual entrees. Also pricing was a bit more on the expensive side which is why I'm disappointed we didn't get unlimited rice. In comparison to other Chinese restaurants, I would say this place is more expensive by 2-4dollars, which isn't bad considering the portions is also greater but I'll make a mental note that it'll be better if we had more people with us. Overall I wouldn't say the experience was a bad experience. Food was a solid 4 if anything. There's a few improvements that could be done like being more careful with the food preparations. That being said, I think we would definitely come back here because they have more food that matches my personal palette more than the other Chinese restaurants in Tucson. read more

Prior to COVID times this was a great place for awesome food. No more. The hunan chicken was oily and greasy. Next time have the stove on and the frying pan or work hot before putting food in it. Beef broc also scaly and oily and broc pieces too big. Appetizer sampler we can forgive because fried food doesn't travel well, but we EXPLICITLY ASKED for hot mustard and chili oil and they said no. Like they said no to the $0.08/pair disposable chopsticks we asked for. And then didn't include 3x steamed white rice. The hot and sour soup -- neither not, nor sour.. The fried rice (the only rice we got... because we ordered it along three entrees that had steamed rice promise but not delivered) -- undercooked. Loved it before COVID. Will never eat there again. $100 grubhub order. And all that was edible was the tofu. When they go out of business and blame COVID... no, that's not the problem. Lunch specials are $6.25 and $7.25. Food was excellent and will return. Noticed a few Chinese families dining in and they have a Chinese menu for those interested. My son and I were down in Tucson for a tournament and was looking for some good Chinese food restaurant. I came across this restaurant on Yelp and was very glad I did. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. The staff was very friendly and attentive which is always a plus for me. The food was amazing with such good flavor. It came out hot and fresh the way it should be. We decided to have the egg drop soup as a starter, pork fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and Cantonese combo chop suey which all dishes were good. To drink I decided on a strawberry jasmine tea freshener which tasted really good. Needless to say we will be back when we return back to Tucson. read more

We have a range of eaters at our home- pity the person who ordered cashew chicken. Is it chicken? I'll post a photo of the bizarre substances that were included in the dish. Thin wisps of stringy, rubbery gunk with zero flavor other than an the soy sauce one's obliged to use. Seriously, it does not resemble fresh cut chicken at all. You gag as you try to swallow it. If you adore celery, this is the dish for you! You like cashews? -- well, hopefully you like hide and seek. Don't forget to make your own rice. It is not part of your meal. read more

This is based on takeout during this time of Covid-19. However, we will certainly go back to try this spot after the all-clear. They offer a nice range of dishes and what we had was pleasantly seasoned with the Szechuan offerings appropriately spicier than the other dishes. One negative was that they were trying to get the food ready so nobody would be waiting in the restaurant so they had it packed a little early and then there was the drive home which meant that crispiness was lost. That said, it was certainly right up there with the better Chinese places in Tucson. Our particular favorites were the stuffed eggplant and the green beans. The folks there were quite pleasant both taking the order and in serving me when I came in. The ambiance seemed nice, but again it was empty so hard to know. As we have been doing lately, we overbought so that we can have another meal or two. With that in mind, I thought our bill quite reasonable. One caveat, currently they are charging for rice because they are having trouble getting enough. Since we don't eat rice, I think they were happy to learn that I didn't need any. read more

There has been a Chinese restaurant in this space for at least 20 years. It's been vacant for a while but I think Sky Dragon will be a long term occupant. Wonderful food and fast friendly service. We started with some veggie rolls that were crisp and loaded, crab puffs that really tasted like crab. Tasty Wor Wonton that has huge pieces of fresh crisp vegetables. Then the main courses...we were already full from the starters. Chow Mein and Crispy Golden Pork Belly. Lots to share and take home. We will be back to try more. read more

I ordered a lunch special last Friday and the bill was $10.86 for the chicken chop Suey and the fried rice when I checked my checking account this morning after everything posted from the weekend they added a $30 tip on to my bill and there was no tip that was even left the total bill should've been $10.86 I think that that's very wrong to add a tip onto someone's bill without their permission or without them even adding it on themselves so you lost a customer. We got takeout last night and were very pleased with the food. The green beans with garlic were fresh, perfectly cooked and delicious. The crispy duck had a very nice flavor and was well cooked. I pass this place all the time and I decided to give it a try today, bad idea, I walked in and had to stand there for a few min because the sign says to wait to be seated, there were only 2 tables being occupied, and one waitress that needs a class in customer service, she acted like she had an attitude when she seated me,. I decided what I wanted to eat and had to sit there another 10-15 min before she came and took my order, she brings me my food, but I had no silverware, so I had to wait till she brought my silverware, the food was horrible I have never seen egg drip soup so thick and disgusting, it literally looked like snot with peas in it, the rice was tasteless, and the sweet and sour chicken had no taste. So needless to say I left just as hungry as I did when I walked in. I will never patronize Sky Dragon ever again. read more

Finally found a Chinese restaurant that's authentic and has some very traditional dishes. All dishes including chicken wraps and lo mein were delicious but my favorite was the steamed chicken. Very reasonably priced and the best part was we got to take leftovers home. Try the tapioca for dessert. What a treat! Fantastic Chinese food. We had take out on NYEd and it is our new favorite. I dream of their Spicy Green Beans - spicy, flavorful, make your mouth tingle but not so hot you can't taste the clean flavors. My husband had the BBQ Duck Lettuce Wraps and loved them as they had lots of flavor. The Salty, Spicy Tofu was amazing as were the Hot and Sour Potatoes. I can't wait until our next adventure. Welp I had high hopes for this place based on reviews but it's the typical wiggley white tasteless chicken (got the cashew chicken), everyone picked out the chicken and ate the celery and cashews. The beef chow fun was ok but a very small amount and not super flavorful. And the Szechuan scallops were super fishy and so thin that we couldn't tell the difference between water chestnuts and scallops. I enjoyed the food and received food service here. If you're looking for a decent Chinese restaurant that isn't Pei Wei or Panda Express, this is a great place to go. They have good quality food with a variety of options to choose from. We came here around a Saturday night, and while it was empty when we arrived, it was full when we left about an hour later. Our waitress took a while to arrive, and then halfway through we received service from someone else. Not sure why, but they both did a good job. I started with the hot and sour soup, which was a bit on the sour side, but tasty. Normally, I've had hot and sour soup with pork, tofu, and mushrooms, but this just had tufo and mushrooms. It wasn't my favorite soup, but I wouldn't call it bad by any means. I ordered the sesame chicken, which wasn't too spicy but was quite flavorful. To be fair, there were hole peppers on the plate, but I didn't eat them directly as that didn't seem like a good idea (I also had no idea what kind they were). The chicken wasn't fried, which was refreshing. It's usually a fried chicken with a sweet and sticky sauce. It came with a side of rice, which I added to the sesame sauce. We got the fried mandu for dessert as I received a free dessert coupon for checking in on yelp. It's not actually for a free dessert, but $2.50 off, which is somewhat deceiving as it's clearly not what the coupon said. This is why I knocked a star off my review. YAS! Finally found a Chinese restaurant in Tucson worth going to and bragging about! Not only do they have excellent service (shout out to Ki!) their food is ON POINT!
