Dr. Gallardo and his staff do not cease to amaze me! I've been a patient of his for over 5 years,…read moreand the great impression I got then has continued to amaze me to this day. Late last year, I made an appointment for a cleaning, having had my last one 6 months prior to the lockdown. For a person who brushes her teeth after every meal and flosses twice a day, I was surprised to learn that due to not having gone for a cleaning for two years, my gums needed a much needed deeper cleaning. That's when I began a periodontal/gum screening/oral hygiene fitness plan, that included 5 visits in a span of 3 months. Danny, the hygienist who took care of me, handled my mouth with extreme care and explained the details of all the procedures before during and after treatment which I appreciated very much. The first visit entailed having my gum's depth measured throughout my mouth, a super deep cleaning with a local anesthetic and laughing gas (I did not feel a thing and felt rather nice actually). Other tests were done and sent to the lab to check thoroughly. That day I went home with a brand new Philips electric toothbrush, a Waterflosser Water Pic, several bottles of oral irrigators, floss, etc. so I too, could tackle those hard-to-reach crevices in and around each and every tooth and molar at home. It was all included in their extremely competitive flat fee. At each visit, Danny once again measured the depth of my gums around each tooth, gave me a deep cleaning and an Oral Hygiene Fitness Report that reflected the improvements. All my visits were pain-free, educational and left me with freshly cleaned teeth and gums and it showed :) Today was my last visit. After the cleaning, I felt squeaky-clean and accomplished, especially receiving an "A+" for the progress and my at-home efforts. Dr. Gallardo and his staff not only treat you with respect and like family, but they make sure the experience with their state-of-the-art equipment, is smooth and pain-free. What more is there to ask for?

Photo of Eileen Kelly Eileen Kelly…read more 2 months ago I am very grateful to God for having blessed my life with Dr. Ospina and all of her staff. I have been overjoyed with this practice since became a patient back in October of last year. However, recently she took on a new Hygienist to replace the one that left who was super amazing but he left to go to dental school in Jersey. My new Hygienist is Patty and she is a miracle worker! She had big shoes to fill as her predecessor was awesome but she has filled those big shoes with flying colors and then some! Going to the dentist is finally a pleasant experience, Patty is very aware and conscience about how the patient is feeling or what they are experiencing during the cleaning process or any other treatment with her in the office. She has such a beautiful way of sympathizing and empathizing with eachpatient as I know it's not a unique with just me. The reporte she has built with me comes so naturally to her that I am sure she builds very similar relationships with other patients. Furthermore, I can tell that Patty knows her craft extremely well, she has plenty of experience working with different demographics and types of people, she is tidy, neat, as well as clean with her equipment and work area. Most importantly she loves what she does and that shines as well as reflects in her work. I love and thank God daily for my marvelous Hygienist Patty! Thank you so much Patty! You're one of a kind and simply the best! The only way to truly improve the experience at this practice is if Patty were to be working all 5 days of the week because at the moment she works Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays and I absolutely refuse to have my mouth worked on and cleaned by anyone besides her. Sometimes Thursdays and Fridays work better for me but I have to stick to the days she is there, I don't trust my mouth to anyone else as amazing as the ladies are in this practice. Please consider strongly making Patty full time Monday through Friday, it would mean so much to me and Im sure to all of the other patients as well.

A private dental practice has the right to establish reasonable administrative policies; however,…read morethose policies do not automatically become legal requirements. A dental office cannot misrepresent an internal procedure as something "required by Florida law" when no such legal requirement exists. Florida statutes shows that dentists are required to maintain appropriate patient records and safeguard the confidentiality of patient information. Specifically, Chapter 466, Florida Statutes (Dentistry), and Section 456.057, Florida Statutes (Patient Records), establish requirements regarding the maintenance, ownership, control, and confidentiality of dental records; however, they do NOT contain any provision requiring a dental office to photocopy a patient's government-issued identification or capture a patient's facial photograph as a prerequisite for receiving routine dental treatment. Additionally, under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), healthcare providers are required to protect the privacy and security of patients' protected health information (PHI) and limit the use and disclosure of such information to permitted purposes. HIPAA does not impose a blanket requirement that dental practices collect copies of government-issued IDs or biometric information, such as facial photographs, from patients. Therefore, when a dental practice requests such information, it should be understood as an internal administrative policy--not a federal or Florida legal mandate--and patients have the right to make informed decisions about their own personal information. If a request--such as photocopying a government-issued ID or capturing a facial photograph--is not required by Florida law, the patient has the right to deny the request. Healthcare providers should not create unnecessary barriers to accessing care through arbitrary or excessive administrative demands, especially when a patient is seeking a consultation or treatment and is paying directly out of pocket. A patient's decision not to provide information that is not legally required should not be treated as a lack of cooperation or used as a pretext to deny access to dental services. Transparency, respect for privacy, and patient autonomy are fundamental principles of healthcare. Administrative convenience should never override a patient's right to understand what information is truly necessary and what is merely a discretionary office policy.
