Small business start-up as a food truck, now moved to a location in quaint downtown area. Fast casual experience, order food and drinks at the window, and they deliver food to outdoor tables. Known for their Ramen and Wok Bowls, plus some good Wings. Enjoyable food and relaxing meal location on a sunny day, or takeout and eat elsewhere. Overall, solid 4.0 experience for food, friendly service and casual ambience. Expect to pay $11-16pp for an entree, plus drinks. Today we tried a Shroom-n-fu Ramen bowl and a Szechuan Garlic Wok Bowl. Both were excellent, tasty and filling! You can add your level' (1-5) of spiciness to the Wok Bowl along with a protein choice as upgrade (cost) of fried tofu, smoked pork, pork shoulder, shitakes, chicken, or egg - delicious! The Ramen bowl came with broth on side so you can add as much or little as your desire. I doubled up on my protein with both Tofu and Pork shoulder, yum! And if you want a smaller portion, you can share either of these dishes for a lighter lunch. We also shared a starter of Red Curry Dry rub wings and Pineapple Habanero wings. They were both very good, and would make a nice compliment to a cold craft brew. Check out Skully's if you like this type of comfort food, and also want to support a local biz. ENJOY!

I've been eyeing this place for a while and finally tried it last night. The dining room was closed but there is a decent amount of seating outside. We walked up to the window to order. My husband got the pork on pork ramen, and I got the smoked pork wok bowl with Szechuan garlic sauce and lo mein noodles. There are many ways to get a wok bowl with several types of meat/protein, sauces, and starches (noodles and rices). They had sold out of quite a few things on their menu, but we went Friday at 7pm, so that makes sense. We waited for maybe 10 minutes before our meals were ready. Everything is in takeout containers due to Covid. They had the broth for the ramen in a separate container than the rest of the ramen, that way nothing gets soggy. My wok bowl came with yum yum sauce on the side as well. My bowl looked amazing and had tons of veggies. You can't tell from the photos, but there was also tons of noodles in both our bowls. The smoked pork was really great, and they didn't skimp on it. I devoured my bowl and cannot wait to try something else. The Szechuan sauce had a nice heat but wasn't too spicy, and all the veggies paired together really nicely. My husband's ramen was fabulous and had so much umami from the pork and the broth. Even in the heat of the summer, I would order that ramen! I am so excited this place exists and I can't wait to try more of their creations!

I had the chickwick ramen with tofu subbed in and it was the best fried tofu I've ever had. The ramen itself was good enough but I trust my friends' opinions more, and they all love Skully's ramen.

We tried this spot on a summer Thursday evening. You walk up to the Royal, and we ordered through a walk-up window. They have a great selection of ramen, bowls and apps. I tried the pork shoulder bowl with rice and a soft-boiled egg. Sauce came on the side, which was nice as you can decide how little or how much you wanted on it. I also tried the kimchi fries which were so delicious. Service was super fast and the food tastes so fresh. They also offer a Keto bowl option which veggies instead of a rice or noodle. Overall, a great spot to hang out outside on a patio to enjoy a fresh meal with friends.

Skully's is a classic Pickwick neighborhood location. Their hours can be a bit weird, and they often run out of things for unknown reasons, but when you can get your hands on their food it's great every time. I have tried most items and all are delicious! I love the dry rubbed wings, the pork on pork ramen, the shroom n' fu ramen, the wok bowl with fried tofu and noodles, and the wok bowl with friend tofu and rice. Their fried tofu is excellent, this is the only place I ever order tofu. Their yum yum sauce is also exceptionally good. I love to grab their food and sit at Tie and Timber to enjoy. Overall great place!

This place was so much fun for my family. Everyone loved the food and drinks.

We enjoyed every minute inside this place. Food was great and everyone can't wait until we go back.

You need to try it! The kimchi fries will have me GOING BACK!!! Just perfectly seasoned and the right amount of heat. And half an order is enough for myself. Their noodles and vegetables with pork were also SO GOOD! Full of flavor and a lot of food. Can't wait to try other things on the menu. They had blue crab Rangoon as a special tonight.

Hands down the best ramen in Springfield. I have tried another authentic ramen place that opened up this past year in Springfield and it was not as good as skullys, not to mention their food was more expensive and their serving sizes were smaller. I crave skullys every week and have to limit myself how much I go there. I hope skullys will expand into more than just a good truck soon!

It honestly felt like the owner might be Japanese or Chinese, because the whole atmosphere was thoughtfully done and very authentic. The service staff were all friendly and welcoming, and overall the dining experience was great. We did have a delay with one of our dishes (waited over 30 minutes), but the manager noticed the issue right away, took responsibility, and handled it really well. They even offered us complimentary spring rolls, which I really appreciated. That kind of attentiveness and care makes a big difference. The food was solid and enjoyable--of course, you can't compare it to bigger cities, but for Springfield, this is definitely a great find. They also have a robot that helps deliver food, which was such a fun and unique touch. I'm here for work, traveling from out of state, and we actually ended up coming back four days in a row--which probably says everything. You can really tell the owner put a lot of heart into this place--from the decor to the overall experience. I appreciate being able to enjoy a different culture like this, especially in a smaller city. Springfield has given me a really great impression and some wonderful memories. Would definitely recommend

A promise of something real, something worth the patience. And when they finally opened..a soft launch, no fanfare; you better believe I was in that parking lot shared with the Food4Less, off Battlefield and Campbell. Rainy day, cold weather in the summer. Surprisingly the perfect combination to enter this newly renovated addition to the shopping center. Their old location is gone. What stands in its place? Something else entirely. Three to four times the size. Four distinct sections. Booths, circle tables, rectangle tables, even a bar with stools. Seating at this hour is self-managed: a small act of trust that tells you everything about the warm chaos of a family-run operation still finding its rhythm. But the bones are solid. The vibe is an unexpected comfort. Soft piano drifts through the air. The lighting is warm, upgraded, inviting. Faux vines trail from corners, faux bamboo stands tall, a video screen plays peaceful landscapes of Vietnam. Paper lanterns hang alongside actual glass chandeliers. Golden fish with kanji watch over the room. It's a total upgrade from the old spot. This isn't just a restaurant moving locations. This is a statement of intention. We ordered. My fiancée went with the Pho Thai: that glorious, aromatic bowl of rice noodles in a broth that tastes like it's been whispering to itself for hours. Rich, savory, soul-warming. I ordered the Bún bò huê but asked them to swap the standard noodles for vermicelli. A small tweak. The kitchen didn't blink. The broth arrived dark, complex, spicy. The Central Vietnamese cousin to pho that doesn't get nearly enough love in this country. It had heat. It had depth. It had backbone. Our kid got a simple side of noodles. Needless to say, everyone finished their food. Every bowl scraped clean. That's the best review you can give a place. Spring rolls? Fresh. Generous. Bigger than usual, stuffed with care. The service? Quick, friendly, attentive, even while short-staffed. That's not easy. That's experience. Hong Yen is a gem. A real one.
