After spending nearly $10,000 at SkinSpirit on a liquid BBL with Mimi, I feel it's important to share my experience.
I chose SkinSpirit because I believed I was investing in an experienced provider and a reputable practice. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet those expectations.
3 months Following my procedure, i had absolutely NO results aside from the initial swelling ( which I was very happy about) I also developed multiple hard lumps throughout the treated areas They are present at virtually every injection site and, months later, they are still there. While they are not painful, they are easily felt under the skin, with some being larger than a marble. This has caused me significant concern and has left me questioning the outcome of a procedure that represented a substantial financial investment.
Another issue that deeply concerned me was the level of professionalism I experienced during my appointments. Mimi discussed the cosmetic procedures of other patients, including individuals she identified as social media influencers. Regardless of whether names are public or recognizable, I believe patients should be able to trust that their personal medical and cosmetic information will remain private. Hearing those conversations made me uncomfortable and caused me to question how my own privacy would be handled.
What happened after I raised concerns was even more disappointing.
when I brought this to the attention of Brandi as to why I was not comfortable in returning for a follow up. Through text messages and emails, I was repeatedly gaslit and told that said ig influencer had never been a SkinSpirit patient. And that in fact she was a friend of Mimi's. After being gaslit this multiple times, I located and sent SkinSpirit's own social media posts showing said influencer receiving treatment at SkinSpirit and posting to her own IG that she was being treated at SkinSpirit. But that was not the issue at hand, the issue was that Mimi shared other private surgeries this influencer had done with a very well known plastic surgeon. Instead of acknowledging the discrepancy or providing an explanation, my text messages were blocked. From that point forward, the office would only communicate with me by email, and once I continued asking for answers, my emails went unanswered.
From my perspective, this felt like gaslighting. Rather than addressing my concerns directly or taking accountability for the conflicting information I had been given, communication changed entirely once I provided evidence that contradicted what I had been told.
When I reached out with concerns about my procedure and the hard lumps I was experiencing, I did not feel that those concerns were taken seriously either. Instead of feeling supported through the healing process, I felt dismissed at a time when reassurance, transparency, and patient care were most important.
Spending nearly $10,000 on an elective cosmetic procedure comes with the expectation of professionalism, honesty, transparency, and appropriate follow-up. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of those expectations.
I encourage anyone considering a liquid BBL or other injectable body procedures at SkinSpirit to do extensive research, ask detailed questions about potential risks and complications, and obtain multiple consultations before making such a significant investment.
Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend SkinSpirit. read more
