I feel like Goldplaited is the like the Lettuce Entertain You of hair and beauty. Like... you can ask for completely different styles or even get different makeup artists (like when you walk into different LEY restaurants) but the level of service and outcome is consistently on point to your level of satisfaction. One time I asked for a stylish pony, another time vintage hair half up/half down, and both times I was obsessed! The makeup artists know how to make you look natural but elevated. Your skin looks like your skin, just better. For make up, I've requested twice (from two different artists) "a natural, me - just better, look," and also a soft glam warm smokey eye - all of which were PERFECT! I did not have to touch up through out the day. All I did was either add more moisturizing spray or UD's All Nighter Spray. Note: If you want airbrush, request it beforehand when you make your reservation. An added plus is that these artists have RANGE! I'm in my 30s but I've seen ladies with mature skin (50+), Gen Z, I mean the skin types ran the gamut and all of the ladies that walked out of there looked beautiful AF. Not to mention the different hair types and requests that they knocked out of the park. The girl that did my hair (twice) was confident and knew exactly what to do even with a brief description or photo. Her confidence gave me confidence knowing she knew her sh*t. And my hair came out perfect every time. The place is very clean and I've consistently seen the artists wash their brushes between each new client. Making appointments online is easy and metered parking is always easy to find. The makeup and beauty industry can be hit or miss but whoever is hiring/training at this place deserves a damn award. The experience when you walk into the Trump tower is refined and elevated so of course the salon vibes were the same. I really appreciated my hair stylist, how they give you a robe to wear over your clothes, offer refreshments, etc. I intentionally chose this salon because I have color treated hair and wanted a refined blowout. The experience itself was honestly 10/10. Where my frustrations come in is the longevity of the results. My hair looked so beautiful immediately after my appointment. What I did notice during the appointment was the stylist was using L'Oréal hairspray. And honestly I didn't think anything of it because they're the experts but as I was walking back to my hotel after the appointment and glanced at my reflection in the mirror, I was shocked to see the curls had almost completely fallen out! And also my hair was frizzing up quite a bit. This is my frustration: environment: trump tower + luxurious experience + great view + Anthony Cristiano name + $110 blowout cost (before tip) does not equal L'Oréal hairspray! This equation does not add up. They use R + Co Shampoo and Conditioner which is what I would expect for a salon of this caliber but I must admit I am quite disappointed with the longevity of my results. I really thought I was going to have this beautiful , unfrizzable, elegant soft curl look that lasted the whole night but by the time I returned to my hotel my curls were gone and by the end of the night I had frizzy straight hair. Again, I think my frustration is because of the caliber of this salon and the fact that they used drug store hairspray and I had to ask for my flyaways to be tamed prior to leaving. All that to say while the experience was lovely, my closing feeling is disappointment as my results were quite lackluster. Perhaps for hair services aside from a blowout they do an exceptional job but this was not it. If you have a lot of fine hair that frizzes easily , this may not be where you want to get your blowout.
