I love this place and Brittany is fantastic! I was in town and have been here twice and it's very…read morerelaxing. Brittany was so easy to talk with and my gel manicure looks great! It's located downtown with so many other places to shop and eat nearby.

From my Google review:…read more I work in customer service, so I generally have a lot of sympathy for other service workers. However, I did not enjoy my experience at Studio Monroe this Thursday at all. I booked a simple brow and lip wax, which was blocked for 15 min period on their calendar invite. I showed up to the studio about 10 minutes early and was told Katie was with another client. No big deal. I was early, right? Wrong. I waited 20 minutes past the time my appointment should have STARTED and was told nothing from the person working the front desk. After 20 minutes, I told the front desk person that I wanted to cancel my appointment, which she agreed to. I mentioned someone who had gotten there later than me being helped first by Katie, only to receive the response that that person had an appointment booked before me. So, why did someone who had an appointment before me show up later than me? I wasn't massively early, only 10 minutes. Was that individual only blocked for 5 minute appointment? Is that even possible? Was she notified that Katie was running late? Why wasn't I told there was another appointment before mine that she hadn't gotten to yet, when I first checked in? After all that, I left. Katie did reach out to me to apologize and offer a complimentary wax, which was a very nice thing to do. I wasn't overly thrilled with the outcome even though I wanted to simply keep the same shape, but was too afraid to say something since I had already made a point about the lateness. All in all, I will not be returning to Studio Monroe. I canceled my future waxing appointments I had set up with them. I had high hopes since I really enjoyed my visit to Xscape Salon under same management. I wouldn't say the wax job was bad by any means, but just not what I was looking for (i.e. my brows ended up more rounded and wider set than I like). My biggest gripe is with the front desk and customer service. If I was rating just the wax, 3 stars. If I was rating just the front desk/customer service, 1 star. Overall, met in the middle with 2 stars.

Making an appointment is pretty straightforward, but the one thing i appreciate is the reminder text messages that get sent. For a busy mom, these are a life saver... especially when I forget which location my appointment is at! The Celadon location is much smaller than the downtown location but SO cute. The last area is semi private and the microblade room is private. I have always found them to be very clean and sanitary and have had no concerns with that! As for my microblading experience, I can't say enough good thinks about S&P and Meghann! You can tell by the amount of mapping & measuring they do before they even start the process, they are good at what they do and they have been trained professionally! They don't just ANYONE microblade! I love that you can go on their website and see your artist's work on their profiles, too. The process is extremely smooth and they make sure you love the shape before they even think about microblading. They use high quality equipment and pigments. I also appreciate how they change and update as newer and better equipment or procedures come along. You always leave with a bag full of everything you'll need for your aftercare. I appreciate that you don't have to go out and purchase anything on your own! Also, whenever I have had a question before or after my procedure, the entire staff is very willing to help. I have loved my initial microblade and both my color boosts. I always feel like my concerns and my wants are addressed and I leave feeling very happy with the outcome and confident in my aftercare instructions. My healing has always been very easy and uneventful. Whenever someone asks me where I get my eyebrows done I am always happy to share S&P and I will continue to go back for my color boosts!

I wanted to share my experience with Elegant on Arrival in hopes that it helps future bridal…read moreparties make informed decisions. When I sat down for my appointment, I explained the hairstyle I wanted. During the first pass with the straightener, there was a significant amount of smoke coming from my hair. I immediately stopped the stylist, Christina, and explained that my hair is extremely sensitive to heat and asked if she could lower the temperature to avoid damaging it. Her response felt defensive rather than reassuring. She stated that she had been doing hair for 15 years, had never burned anyone's hair, and knew what she was doing. While she did lower the straightener temperature, I felt my concerns were dismissed. Throughout that interaction, she laughed and seemed to brush off what I was saying instead of taking my concern seriously. Later, while curling my hair, I became distracted because my best friend, the bride, was opening a sentimental gift. Afterward, I realized the curling iron temperature had not been lowered as requested. I washed my hair today, and it now feels extremely dry, brittle, and straw-like. I understand that heat styling is part of the process, but I specifically communicated my concerns beforehand because I know how sensitive my hair is. Instead of feeling heard, I felt like my concerns were ignored because the stylist believed she knew better than I did about my own hair. Beyond the issue with my hair, I was disappointed by the overall professionalism and customer service. Throughout the morning, the stylist came across as condescending and difficult to approach. She was not warm, encouraging, or enthusiastic, which is especially important in a bridal suite environment. One example occurred when she finished styling the bride's mother's hair and asked for payment. The bride's mother mistakenly mentioned getting a check, and the stylist repeatedly responded in a condescending tone that checks were not accepted while chuckling and that it was "clearly" stated on our policy. It was an honest mistake, as cash had already been withdrawn for payment the day before. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and embarrassing. I understand that there could have been some past experiences that brought her some stress with the mothers response to getting a check, but that was not a professional interaction. My biggest concern is that I felt completely dismissed when I expressed concerns about my hair, and I am now dealing with what appears to be heat damage as a result. She mentioned that in 15 years she had never burned anyone's hair. Perhaps that's true, or perhaps no one has spoken up about it before. Either way, you can count me as the first. Equally disappointing was the atmosphere that was created throughout the morning. What should have been a fun, relaxing experience getting ready with my best friend on her wedding day instead felt like walking on eggshells. No one should feel uncomfortable speaking up about concerns while receiving a service, especially during such an important event. I understand that working bridal parties can be stressful and demanding, but if you choose a career in customer service, knowing how to style hair is only part of the job. Knowing how to communicate professionally, listen to clients, and make people feel comfortable is equally important. Unfortunately, I left feeling dismissed, uncomfortable, and disappointed. There were also issues that the family had with her professionalism and communication leading up to the wedding, but those experiences are not mine to share. I am sharing my experience because if someone tells you that their hair is sensitive to heat, that concern should be taken seriously. I hope this feedback encourages better communication, more respect for client concerns, and a more positive experience for future bridal parties.
