I've been seeing Dr. Keaney for the last 2-3 years and have nothing but praise for him and the SkinDC team. When I compare my skin from 2 years ago to now...it is a night and day difference in the best way possible. I've done toxin, cheek filler, and BBL treatments with him. We have all been there....Getting up in years...wanting to look less tired. Decided to try some non-surgical procedures for the first time. I wanted to give this place a 5 star review but unfortunately, I can't. Pros: Dr. Nagga is great, very knowledgeable, vast experience, and personable. Yes, she will suggest a plethora of treatments; is their business after all and it will be up to you to determine what you want/need. I chose some laser treatments and I am happy with the results and the overall experience with the cosmetic procedures. The staff in the back are efficient and effective. Cons: The time the doctor spends with you is minimal but it seems this is normal practice for this kind of field. The real con: You will need a miracle by baby Jesus itself to get in touch with the front desk. If you get your miracle, you will be talking to a rude person with no experience in customer service. You can leave a message but you won't hear back...ever. You will be told that they will call you back....tried this one three times. I never got a call back even though the last time I specifically said: "last time I didn't get a call back and I have been waiting for weeks...please call me back so I can plan to take time off to come in". Didn't call me back: yes Elizabeth, I am talking to you. The only reason I needed to use the front desk staff was because one of my appointments was rescheduled and no one called me to tell me. I did ask for the change via phone but no one told me they did it....because they never called me back. It is a shame that their front staff doesn't match their back staff. But again, they get a lot of traffic thus they may not need people to be regular costumers. As a patient for the past few years, I had an appointment scheduled weeks in advance for tomorrow morning. I received a call less than 24 hours prior stating that my appointment was cancelled and could not be rescheduled for almost two months. I could understand if the provider was sick or had an unforeseen emergency, but this was merely a general availability issue that the office admitted they knew of well in advance, and conceded that had I canceled under similar non-emergency circumstances this close to my appointment I would have been charged for their time. Unfortunately the quality of their care becomes irrelevant when they do not respect the time of their patient enough to provide any type of reasonable notice of such a massive and disruptive cancellation, and I get kicked to the back of the appointment queue, to boot. I respect my providers and their time, and simply want the same in return. I'll find a more professional and reliable provider. read more

Been here twice so far for acne related treatment. Nice, clean, modern office located inside a larger office building. Kind of hard to figure out where to park if you drive here. Dr. Naga and the other girls that work here are super nice, but each visit ends up feeling a bit rushed. I had to wait 30 minutes after my appointment time for the doctor to meet with me and our meeting lasted all of 4-5 minutes. I wish they would spend a bit more time explaining their treatment and options before going through with it and sending me on my way. read more

This is a typical fancy medspa where you're ushered in and out like cattle. If you're looking for a quick fix treatment and know what you're getting (botox, dermabrasion, etc) this place is fine for you. However for anything even remotely more complicated than that please go elsewhere. There is zero follow-up on anything. It's hard to get any questions answered without setting up another appointment. I have rosacea and associated texture/pigmentation issues that come with that. I was recommended a bunch of different treatment modalities that would concurrently "fix" the issue (among them laser resurfacing, micro-needling, vascular laser treatment for redness, etc). However after research and a second Dr's opinion, I was told micro-needling was a BIG no-no for very sensitive rosacea skin as that could exacerbate the condition badly. This made me question the clinic and whether they're just throwing out a bunch of treatments without really evaluating the patient's skin and addressing the underlying dermatological conditions. A bigger issue to me was that I was merely given a list of treatments and products, and the onus was me to call and schedule them whenever I felt like. Which lead to more questions...can I do treatment X and Y together? Would it be more effective if I did them separately? These are questions you're supposed to ask the Dr. in your very quick whirlwind consultation, which unfortunately doesn't occur to you until long after the Dr. has left the room, once you've had time to read and absorb all the pamphlets and treatment recommendation paperwork handed to you. I went for one treatment for a non-rosacea issue which went fine as it wasn't complicated, but skipped out on any further treatments after that (which was pretty easy since they have zero follow-up). I also saved close to $6k since that's what all the recommended treatments would have cost, all of which I would've paid out of pocket since these were cosmetic treatments. I figured if this clinic was highly recommended by DC area "influencers" with great skin, it would be worth the money to get treatments here. But these clients are probably going in for botox/fillers and similar treatments that aren't very complicated. Maybe my treatments might have turned out okay, but I wasn't willing to play trial and error on my face. Going forward I'm just going to visit a regular old dermatologist who may not be fancy, but will atleast be more accessible to address treatment concerns and slowly figure out together what works and doesn't work for my skin. 2 stars for the nice office and the Dr's pleasant (if rushed) bedside manner. read more

I really cannot recommend skin DC enough. The office is gorgeous. The front staff is helpful. The nurses are nice. The doctors are knowledgeable. Wait times are usually short. Truly the best doctors office i have ever been to. I will continue to be a patient here as long as I am able. I see Dr. Walterhoefer and have had only good experiences. Today I called because I needed a prior authorization to get a prescription filled. The medical assistant called me back WITHIN 5 MINUTES to let me know the prior authorization was complete. Took my teenager, who has hormonal acne. Dr. Terrence Keaney has been so helpful the past two years. Always explaining in a way she understands, although writing it out as a visual might help her remember better. Valentina took the time afterwards as she was calling in prescriptions. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. If you want to be condescended to or potentially have your credit card information stolen, this is the place for you!! They literally asked me to leave the office because I didn't want to leave my credit card on file with some unknown third-party provider. The toxicity clearly starts at the top here. I should have known to go elsewhere when I tried to make an appointment with both Dr. Walterhoefer for a skin check and Dr. Keaney for my hair. I was told these doctors absolutely will not share patients and that I'd have to pick one or the other. I decided to see Dr. Keaney and pre-paid $250 for the visit over the phone as requested. When I arrived, the bank of receptionists looked like their faces would break if they cracked a smile. The receptionist I talked to wanted my credit card info to "keep on file." I said I'd give them my credit card number if/when I owed money. The situation ridiculously escalated to their office manager telling me that she was cancelling my appointment for my failure to comply with her office policy. She haughtily ran through three nonsensical excuses for this office policy. First, she claimed it was because of COVID that she needed me to physically hand my card to her to make sure the process was "touchless." 10 minutes into this absurd conversation, she said it was "in case there were any unforeseen bills, but of course, we'd call you first." I said "if you are going to call me anyway, then you can ask me for the card number then." She then said, "we're too busy to call our clients when there are charges, that's why we need the card now." With 170K Americans dead, it would be nice if snooty offices like this would stop trying to ascribe their sneaky office policies to COVID-19. read more

I have seen both Dr. Naga and the PA here and both have been good. I had a mole checked initially and was instructed to come back three months later only to be told the "mole" is actually just two freckles next to one another. Why that wasn't clear initially is beyond me. However, I had a couple of skin issues cleared up without any issue. My main issue with this place is their office. I'm in a constant fight with them it seems. They're either not answering their phone or, if they are, answering flustered and rushed because of how busy they are. They won't skip an opportunity to tell you that, either. I've arrived for an appointment and went told to take a seat since the front desk staff were all on the phone and I was sitting for 30 minutes, while making continued eye contact, before asking if I should check in. They "forgot" about me they said.. even while I kept making eye contact. Additionally, prescriptions I've had put in from SkinDC were super expensive. When I casually mentioned this to my doctor, she told me to let them know if one is expensive and they'll send in a cheaper alternative because I was getting very generic, every day scripts that shouldn't cost a lot. I called on a Thursday after requiring a $125 prescription and they told me they could not find an alternative until the following Tuesday. They did not call me with an alternative until TWO Tuesdays. Twelve days after my appointment. This practice is very nice and I appreciate the small doctor staff but I believe they need to up their office staff or retrain or replace. Something isn't working effectively or efficiently there. read more

Dr. Naga is wonderful - they are a very busy office so her visits are quick, but I've never felt rushed and she answers all my questions. The office is beautiful and I've never had to wait too long at my appointment time. Would have given 5 stars but my last appointment I was handed a consent form to keep my credit card on file, which I declined. I was told I couldn't see the doctor unless I signed it, which is ridiculous - I was already there and had taken off work for the appointment. When I asked why the change in policy, the receptionist said they had a patient who wouldn't pay their bill so now everyone has to consent to their credit card being kept on file. I have never, ever had a doctor's office expect this. Can you imagine an insurance claim being denied for a trivial reasons (ex - wrong code listed) and that charge hitting your credit card? No thanks. I hope they've changed this policy. read more

I had my first visit today after my previous dermatologist closed their office during COVID. I called and was helped by their front desk a few days prior on how to book an appointment online as a new patient and was helped with some general questions quickly and easily. At my first appointment today, observations are: the office is modern, upscale and inviting. The front desk staff is extremely polite and helpful. The check in process is easy and COVID friendly. I don't even know where to begin.  He is the absolute best.  His surgical skills are pristine.  He is a truly skilled surgeon with the ability to make the end result look like you envisioned.  I am super picky and like to do my research.  I met with several, like SEVERAL,  doctors before I decided to move forward with my procedure and I immediately knew he was the one I wanted to do my surgery.  He actually listens to you and then gives you a very thoughtful, honest and realistic answer which to me was everything.  He also takes the time to explain the clinical side which I really appreciated understanding all of the components and reasons of why and what he may need to do.   Importantly, he is truly one of the most kind human beings I've ever met.  I'm pretty sure I am not an easy patient and he made me feel safe and at complete ease the whole time.  Answered all of my questions and never dismissed anything I wanted him to check out --all without making me feel like I was annoying which I am pretty sure I was.   I hope reading my review is helpful but I really hope you look at my pictures --it says more than my words possibly could.  When you see my before and after pictures you will quickly see that this was not an easy procedure and only someone best in class could have handled it. Visited yesterday and was very impressed with the professionalism and thoroughness during my consult. The office is also very COVID conscious. Rachel, the medical assistant, was very welcoming and would check on me throughout my visit to keep me updated. I appreciate the attention to detail and Dr. Naga's expertise. Both Dr. Naga and the cosmetic manager, Marcie, were very patient with me and explained the procedures, rationales, and what/how treatments should be prioritized. It was also very interesting to see the "photo" results of my skin that showed sun damage and inflammation. It was great to meet Ragan as well and learn about cool tone and cool sculpting! The office was clean and modern and the location is very convenient for me so I would love to make this place my go-to derm office. After recently relocating to the DC area from Maryland I looked for Dermatologist that would be able to meet the high standards I had in regards to my previous Dr. After reviewing multiple places in the area, I decided to give SkinDC a try as they were a relatively new practice with mostly good reviews. I was first impressed with how they were able to get me an appointment the next day after expressing some urgency. They also had me use a portal online to add medical history which saved a lot of time when I first arrived (no ones enjoys filling out paperwork in the waiting room at the docs office). Which leads to my next point, the waiting area and main entrance to the office has a very trendy/boujee feel to it which is something that I personally have not experienced in any doctors office. The comfy couches were accompanied by good music and light refreshments. The staff was also very friendly, responsive and quick with getting me get the rest of my preliminary paperwork (done on iPad) done so I could be seen ASAP. Dr. Naga and Camille listened the issues I had been having with severe razor burn and some post accutane related issues and then provided the adequate treatment. It has been helping me resolve these problems tremendously. I will be returning for any skin related issues. Highly recommend! read more

I wholeheartedly trust both of them with my acne problem. The real reason I'm writing this review is about PA Jackie Bourassa. I have never met a more caring, practical, intelligent medical care professional in my entire life. I'm not sure why but my last stellar 5 star review got deleted... So here is an updated one based on all my positive experiences at SkinDC! I initially had heard great things about Dr. Naga from friends of mine. When I finally decided it was time to start seeking a preventative approach for staying ahead of skin aging, I scheduled an appointment at her office, SkinDC. Parking is not hard to find at all in downtown Arlington (especially during COVID-19 restrictions while businesses are reopening!) since there are like 3 parking garages within the general vicinity of the office. The closest garage is probably the Safeway and I suggest parking there if you need to get to your appointment fast. Another thing to note during COVID-19 times is how CLEAN and dedicated the office staff are here to making sure patients are spaced out, areas are wiped down hourly by staff with disinfectant wipes, all of the office staff wear protective coverings, and they have various filters placed all over the office as well as other safety precautions. I am always really impressed with how beautiful and well decorated the office is too! First impressions of an office space really matter to me and it looks like the owners of SkinDC appreciate that aspect of patient care as well. I'm a huge fan of the design of the office space, the ambiance, and how well-coordinated the staff is in getting patients situated and called back for appointments. It's done very efficiently and elegantly discreet. The staff that I have been paired with that do the consultations such as the Visia skin analysis and primary concerns portion of the appointment such as before/after pics (Victoria, Allison, and Emily are the ones I remember!) are SO nice and so welcoming and they really do a great job of representing the office well. They are all so friendly! They are also great explaining things I have had questions about when I've been ready to try different skin anti-aging procedures! Now let's talk about Dr. Naga... I can definitely say she has one of the BEST bedside manners and fine tuned clinical skills that I've seen of doctors in the DMV area. Most times, and I'm sure many people in the DMV can relate, when you see a doctor who is in high demand in a busy, high-demand area like Arlington or Chevy Chase, or anywhere in the DMV, things can feel rushed or go by so fast that it's hard to even get to form a trusting relationship with the doctor you're there to see. I found the total opposite was true at my visit to SkinDC :). Dr. Naga is so calm, collected, trustworthy, and she truly KNOWS what she practices and can EXPLAIN little details about procedures, which is something I appreciate. She takes the time to genuinely evaluate my face at each visit, she suggested some clinically tested products for me to add to my skincare regimen at my very first appointment, and she always takes her time with the procedures done at each appointment. She also does not (in any way) attempt to sell me on things I don't need, which is also something I appreciate about her. She's very conservative and honest in her approach as a dermatology practitioner. I had my first ever preventative cosmetic dermatology appointment here and from the very first day I have continuously walked into the room feeling super comfortable and confident that I am in good hands at every appointment. I was actually super terrified at the idea of a preventative-aging skin appointments until I stepped into SkinDC. Dr. Naga is an absolute joy, she's a very skilled injector, especially with dermal fillers and neuromodulators such as Xeomin and other "Botox" related products. She is THE best! If you are in need of a trustworthy dermatologist, you really should consider her! Often times people think it's easy to go to a simple medical spa or other type of place for anti-aging treatments (such as injections) because it's "cheaper" and the practitioner is often times not a dermatologist.... My answer to that is, you get what you pay for. I'd rather pay a little more and see a skilled dermatologist that practices injections every day in office and deals with skin concerns on a regular basis, and has all the tools necessary for practicing correctly, as SkinDC has at their office. Do yourself a favor and go see the dermatologists and medical professionals at SkinDC for your anti-aging treatments, especially injections, and skin needs! You won't regret it. :) read more

UPDATE: I will not be returning to this office. I left what I swear was my last appointment in tears because I cannot get the doctor to answer questions about my health. He is running out the door as fast as possible, I feel anxious, frustrated, and not taken seriously. I must spend a total of less than 10 minutes per appointment with this doctor and I AM PAYING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OUT OF POCKET. TLDR; they'll lie to you to get you to spend more, but it's a nice facility I had my first visit here a month ago for Botox for my jaw for my teeth grinding. I was really impressed with the facility. The office is stunning and the doctor and assistant were very friendly. I paid $250 for the consultation fee. 150 is supposed to go towards treatment. I paid $775 for the treatment (supposedly this included my discount from the consultation but idk) I was told by the doctor that this facility charges by the 'treatment' rather than the vial and that if I needed more Botox next time that I would not pay because that is included in my treatment cost. My first appointment was a lower dosage, he said he expects I'll probably need more next time, but it's better to build up. I say great. I went back today for my follow-up, we agreed the first treatment was not sufficient, and they told me it would cost another $500 for the additional Botox. I asked why I was told otherwise last time and they said that this is considered a 'second treatment' - something that was 100% not mentioned in my first appointment and very much misconstrued. Sooo was I given a low dosage just to get more money out of me later? They literally said the cost from the first appointment was all I would have to pay and that was what sold me on skipping the other consultations I had with other facilities. It's a disappointing situation because I really liked the place and the doctor. I would have been fine paying that amount if it was explained correctly the first time, but I'm not going to be manipulated into paying hundreds of dollars extra when I should have gone elsewhere. I have my favorites back in Chicago and I have been slowly (like a glacier) migrating to NOVA physicians. Somehow Dr. Naga has been two blocks away from me and hiding for the past few years. Exactly everything I need/want from a physician. She (and her entire staff) listen THEY LISTEN! Then they speak. There is no talking over you, there is no interrupting, their is no rush rush. The actual act of active listening takes place in this office. THAT ALONE WILL MAKE ME HAUNT DR. NAGA FOREVER. To boot, clear communication - actual plans of treatment and follow-up. RESULTS. I had previously seen dermatology back in Pittsburgh as I struggled with Acne and underwent treatment with accutane. Recently I have had recurrence of some acne and finally decided to get established with a practice here in Arlington. Some dermatology offices in the area had a several month wait---I booked an appointment within a week which was great! I saw Dr. Keaney and had a wonderful experience. Skin DC is absolutely terrible with scheduling. I've been here 3 times now, and the last two times they have messed up the appointment times. Today I was scheduled to have something removed that included stitches, and I was told I wouldn't be able to work out for a week. As a fitness instructor, I had to cancel all of my upcoming classes. I get to my appointment time at 1:40pm, and they told me it was actually at 1pm and they will not be able to see me and I need to reschedule. All of the confirmations and my initial time was 1:40. Now I am out of the money I would have made from my classes, and I have to reschedule a minor surgery which is very inconvenient (which I will not be doing here). My appointment before this, they told me I would need two separate appointments, one to look at the area of concern (that I was scheduled for today), and a second for a full body skin cancer screening. These appointments would take 5 minutes total, and they wanted me to make two separate appointments. It is not convenient for me to get to this office, and I've told them that multiple times. Also, they tell you to call to make an appointment - I've never been able to speak to someone over the phone when I call. The scheduling team here is a wreck and I do not recommend SkinDC to anyone else with a busy schedule and has a hard time making doctor's appointments like this. read more

I saw Dr Naga last week for a skin cancer check, to get a few moles removed, and some precancerous areas treated. She was very professional, friendly, and did not shame me for my sun exposure. I have been to Skin DC to see Megan their Master Esthetician. She is as professional and kind as they come. Megan is able to customize the procedure that you choose to make the greatest difference for your individual skin. She preaches preventative maintenance and sun protection above all else. She is even great with my teenage cousin who struggles with acne. He was very reluctant about the idea of getting facials but Megan put on his favorite music so he would be more at ease and relax while she addressed his skin concerns. He even asks when he can go back to see her because she was so kind and understanding to his needs. She is able to make lasting connections with all of her patients and I am sure that is why they are so loyal to her. read more

I got my lips filled with Dr. Naga. At first, she seems very knowledgeable. Dr. Naga and her staff fell to explain to me that there will be charged for the follow-up procedure. I did not get the result I wanted from the first procedure and I was hoping that she will fix the issue when I attend for the follow-up. Both my upper and lower lips are not evenly after the procedure. According to Dr Naga, said that I have uneven lips and nothing that she can do... I can try for the second procedure that may fix the issue, but there is a charge of $900. I don't mind to pay because I want to look beautiful, but I was told that "no charge". I was told by Dr Naga her staff that what when I come back for the follow-up and if I am not happy with the first procedure, she will fix at no costs. That was not true! There is a charge of $900! Why that wasn't clear explanation! I don't have time to write this review, but this office does not keep any promise. You can charge whatever you want, but you need to let customers know if there is a charge. Please train your staff when it comes to charging the customers. I was told that there is $250 for the consultation and if I decide to have the procedure, $150 will be credited toward the cost of the procedure. When I went to pay, it was not the same as I was told. I had to wait for 15 mins until they figured it out on how much I suppose to pay. Please keep track of your customer's record and keep your promise! It is important that you tell the truth and keep your promise because there are plenty of competitors out there. My other issue with this place is their office. My first visit, I was waiting for 45 mins even though I have my appointment. Second visit (follow up), I was waiting for 35 mins. Phone: They're either not answering their phone or, if they are, answering flustered and rushed because of how busy they are. Not Happy. When the technician says "It's covered under Insurance".. don't assume it's not going to cost you big! I was told directly that my insurance would cover a procedure (which one would assume meant $0, or near $0 due to co-pay), but to my surprise, when I was handed my invoice at checkout my cost was over $300! I am providing feedback about the terrible appointment service I have experienced. I scheduled an appointment using your online service. I received text and email confirmation. A few days before my appointment I received the email and text to reconfirm my appointment which I did. Within a few hours of doing that I received a cancellation email. When I called the office directly I was told that I never had an appointment for the date (which all my correspondence confirmed). I was told I had a different appointment date for a day that I a)never made the appointment for and b) couldn't possibly attend as I will be out of the country. I was finally able to schedule an appointment verbally over the phone for the next day. Not surprisingly when I attended the office for my appointment I was told that there was no apppointment for me. Literally speechless that a service with such a high rating could have such poor customer service I left. Angry that I have now have to find another service provider. If I could give zero stars I would. I will note that this no reflection on the provision of doctor services, at the same time if you can't figure out how to actually service your customers in gaining an apppointment the poor review stands. read more

I did my annual skin exam today with the PA Alexandra Stewart, and she was so nice, professional and knowledgeable! I was concerned about a few moles on my body and she helped me feel at ease. She also removed a skin tag and froze off some warts for me. I would definitely recommend her for annual skin checks! read more

I took my elderly father there for a skin infection. Dr Walterhoefer was great with him. The office is modern and lots of staff around. The website is great - can schedule appts easily and without wait. The thing I liked the best was they took their time with patients - no rush in and out like some other dermatologist offices I've been to Would definitely recommend to anyone read more
