She didn't make excuses and actually helped me get another appointment the next day. My second experience was super friendly and my concern was fully resolved. The doctor was very careful and thorough, and they clarified that their typical approach is to hear patients' concerns and arrange follow-ups if there isn't enough time to address everything at once. I'm honestly floored by their response, as in mistakes happen everywhere, but it takes a surprising amount of care and competence to handle it the way they did. The practice goes out of their way to make sure their patients feel looked after and I'm grateful to have found them! Old: I have mixed feelings about this practice. The doctor and staff seemed competent and the treatment plan was reasonable. However, the interpersonal experience was unpleasant enough that I won't return. I had originally booked the appointment for one concern, but by the time of the visit I had developed two additional pressing concerns which I thought might be related. When I mentioned this, the medical assistant rather brusquely told me that the doctor only addresses one issue per visit. When I explained that two of the concerns were related and offered to drop the third, the interaction still felt unnecessarily adversarial, as though I was imposing on the office. I understand we have limited appointment times and may need to restrict how much can be addressed in one visit. My issue was primarily with how that limitation was communicated and the lack of generosity. It's a little odd to see other comments mention generosity of time, because that definitely wasn't my experience. A friendly explanation that the doctor would address what he reasonably could would have been completely understandable. I left feeling more like a burden than a patient. Given that there are other dermatology practices in the area where I have felt more welcome, I would personally go elsewhere in the future.

Scheduling an appointment at his new office was a smooth process and I was able to be seen on the same day. The office staff are outgoing, professional, and communicative. The scheduling and check-in process was easy and I had no issues with insurance/payment process. Dr.Livingood is warm and thorough in explaining procedures/follow-up and takes time to answer questions so you don't feel rushed. I recommend him to all my friends!

Every time I come in, I have to wait around 15 minutes just to be taken back to the exam room, and once I'm there, it's another 15 minutes of waiting before I'm seen by the dermatologist. Today was the last straw. I arrived at 1:37 PM for my 1:45 PM appointment, only to find myself still waiting at 2:00 PM. I approached the receptionist to ask how much longer it would be, and she informed me that the medical assistant said it would be another 5-10 minutes. Ten minutes passed and I was not taken back until 2:16 PM. I was left sitting in the exam room for another 15 minutes. By 2:30 PM I did not want to wait any longer as I had waited already way past my time. I walked to the front and talked to the front desk. While I do appreciate that Francesca at the front desk was very nice and apologized for this experience, it doesn't change the fact that I had to wait 50 minutes for what was supposed to be a quick follow-up appointment. I work in healthcare as well, and I know sometimes the schedule falls behind. However, 50 minutes + (because if I had stayed I might have had to wait even longer) seems extremely unprofessional. I'm grateful that a doctor here biopsied it and was able to diagnose it. However, we have to drive two hours away to Baltimore. The Baltimore doctor treated the Bullous Pemphigoid but he would not acknowledge the side effects of the medication. Therefore, we are looking for a dermatologist closer. We cannot continue the four-hour round-trip to be medically ignored. I have written to District Dermatology, and I have phoned them. I have begged for help for my loved one. They will not even give me a referral to another doctor so my loved one can be seen sooner. I cannot figure out why the original dermatologist here, who diagnosed my loved one's bullous pemphigoi, cannot see them. This doctor even told me that she has seen patients with Bullous pemphigoid but my loved one was her first experience with this disease. She told me she treats them with Dupixent. All patients with Bullous pemphigoid have other health concerns. The aging immune system is the main cause of BP. There are also studies about the Covid vaccine causing BP. Personally, I think this practice should have been more involved in getting medical care for my loved one. My son found the derm at Hopkins in Baltimore. If you claim you cannot treat a patient because you think they have "co-morbidities" (even though they are highly functioning and working full-time) my opinion is that you should give referrals and contact them for us. That is only my opinion. That is why I am giving 3 stars to this practice.

Out of 15, there were only a couple and even though Dr Brittany Smirnov didn't have reviews, I saw her smiley profile picture & clean/small office setting, and decided to give her a chance! I am happy I did. The girls at the front are very nice and welcoming, and the wait was only 30 minutes (half of that was spent doing the new patient paperwork). The PA did a thorough job once I was in the room asking what my concerns/needs were for the Dr. Which I thought was nice that I didn't have to tell the receptionist upon booking, since these things are kind of sensitive to talk about to a random person. Dr Brittany came into the room with a big smile. I felt very at ease talking to her and did not feel insecure discussing my dermatology needs and getting half naked to show her LOL. I even told her I picked her because of her smiling face and we both agreed how YELP is so helpful in finding different services. I'd recommend anyone to go see her!
