I don't have any complaints about the medical care received at this practice. Both times I have had routine, scheduled appointments at Forefront in Arlington, they are either running behind or have scheduling issues. At my most recent appointment, I had been waiting and had still not been seen 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment (this happened at my previous appointment as well). Patients who arrived after me had their appointment, finished, and left. I chose not to wait any longer and canceled my appointment. I had a very poor experience with this practice as well as PA Patterson. It's a factory and they rush and staff unfriendly. Another dermatology office was no longer providing medical treatment and had reached out to Forefront Dermatology to see if they could accept me as a patient. Forefront Derm said yes and that they treated for the condition. I booked an appointment and took off of work and provided the reason for the appt ahead of time and the medical records. The office didn't review any of this ahead of time and when I arrived (after filling out an INSANE amount of paperwork since they are all automated) I was seen by a nurse who within the first 90 seconds said they didn't treat this condition and that she'd send in PA Patterson but she knew they didn't treat for it. PA Patterson was incredibly rude and condescending and said the same thing that the nurse did. I was out of the office within 2 minutes flat since that was the only reason I'd gone in that day (to get prior authorization submitted with my insurance co to then be treated) and was told that wasn't possible. It was so unprofessional that they even booked me for the appt bc they knew the reason ahead of time. Even the front desk said I didn't owe a copay as I was out of the office so fast. However, I was sent a bill for that visit. I called about it, but never got a call back. And after several emails just kept being redirected. It truly is a factory and their administrative staff dials it in and doesn't care. The team was unprepared and didn't review my medical records and I felt the PA acted unprofessionally. Don't go here for your annual skin screening. The appointment itself was thorough, but the billing process was shady, and I ended up having to pay $56 for this preventive care, which should be free under standard insurance. The issue is that this office's billing department won't code any visit as preventive care - everything is just an "office visit," which comes at a cost. The billing department told me this when I called to inquire about my bill and wouldn't change the code. This wasn't mentioned when I booked the appointment or when it was confirmed. My insurance can't do anything to override the billing code, so I'm stuck with the bill. I didn't have this problem when I went to the D.C. office before the pandemic, but I won't return to any Forefront locations because I can't trust them now to disclose these things. read more

In 2021, I went here for rosacea/allergy/infection (not sure) on my face. I was prescribed a course of antibiotics and told to use sulfur soap. I did that and my red cheek problem went away. I had this problem again this year and I found another clinic nearby from my insurance company, I thought it was this clinic, and that doctor prescribed me $500+ of medication (was $800+ before insurance). . I didn't buy it, just thought she was making money. I found the 2021 bill in my mailbox and I'm going to contact here again on Monday to see if they can accept Cigna insurance. It went well, I am in the process of treatment. FYI, this clinic doesn't have a very good service attitude, but it can treat skin problems. read more

Unfortunately can't recommend. Doctor didn't take a look at my skin for longer than maybe 5 seconds and condescendingly responded when I asked questions about my concerns. Ultimately they just threw a bunch of products at me to take. Took them at far less than their prescribed rate and dosage and had a horrible reaction with no benefit. Not shocked. Won't be returning. I did love my nurse, however. But with doctor Rhett there was no asking of questions or strategizing on what might be causing a sudden onset of skin issues. This is just from a first time customer perspective. Since I moved to Arlington I needed to get a new dermatologist given my old one was out in Loudoun county. This office was recommended to me by a friend who had a very positive experience there recently. And I had a very positive first time patient experience there today. I saw Dr Giannelli for a suspicious mole. I had the mold removed in office right then. He gave me information about the moles on my back and I did not feel a thing with the mole removal or the stitches. It was over very quickly with absolutely zero pain. I'm all about zero pain. He had excellent "bedside" manner. I think if you need a dermatologist in the Arlington area this is a good bet. It is closer to Virginia Square Metro than Ballston. There is street parking and there's also a parking lot in the back. You will pay for your own parking, keep that in mind if you drive there. Don't park on the street without paying, because it's an area that the parking cops monitor. read more

I love Dr. Kent. He's a great dermatologist. Getting an appointment is another story. A rash broke out on my arm. It itches. It appears to be in response to a cream I am using for my senile purpura. My senile purpura requires treatment, but not the treatment I have been using for several months. I just got off the phone with a scheduler who insisted on verifying everything like i am a new patient. Most office ask if any of your information has changed and then I can answer no, nothing has changed. Not this office. Line by line. After spending all this time on the phone, the only appointment she could offer was October 4th (today is September 3rd.) The idea that I might need to see a doctor sooner than a month from now did not compute. When I told her I did not want that appointment, she hung up. I feel scammed by Forefront Dermatology and Dr.Kent. I came in for what I though was a plantar wart. Dr.Kent walks in, immediately tells me that it's a corn and not a wart, grabs a tool and scrapes it for roughly 1-2 minutes, and then told me what topical gel to order from Amazon. Under 5 minute visit. I later received a bill and learned that in addition to charging the $223 office visit (I have no problem with this) they also charged me for a $341 "surgery" service. Let's be honest, Dr.Kent filed off a callus on my foot and charged me for a surgical procedure, without notifying me or even explaining that this would be an extra procedure charge. I called and spoke to the billing department and they weren't helpful at all. read more

Dr. Kent told me the best solution would be a biopsy to figure out what was causing my rash. What he failed to go over was the fact that a biopsy would leave a horrible lifetime scar. Having never had a biopsy before I wasn't aware of this fact and he did not explain this to me although when I looked in the portal notes he LIED and said he went over the steps and risk. Horrible experience. I scheduled my annual skin cancer screening via ZocDoc with Dr. Rhett Kent and received my confirmation email and all the reminders leading up to my appointment at 8:30am. I walked in and the receptionist said they had no record of my appointment, despite me showing her my confirmation email for the date and time. Avoid!! I went to one appointment to have a spot looked at last year. It's been about a year since that appointment, but I've just received a call from a debt collector over a $50 bill. I took care of the payment, but have serious concerns about Forefront's billing department. For one thing, I moved states several months after my appointment and setup a forwarding service with USPS. I never received a single bill in the mail! When I asked Forefront's billing representative if they called me before sending this "debt" to the collectors, they claimed they called once. Once during a work day while I had no access to my phone. I also asked if they tried to contact me via email. I did an email mailbox search and found nothing. The representative confirmed they did not email me. So, the billing department left me one phone call and sent one letter to an old address ( I moved states). They refused to forward the bill to my correct address and decided to use a debt collector instead. All over a meager $50 that I've since paid. This is a fraudulent way to conduct business! Dr. G is really nice and patient. He listens to me before examining me & he continues to listen while he examines. I can call and get an appt whenever needed. He has no issues with changes something if I don't feel comfortable with it. He always does it with a smile. He doesn't take all day either it be in and out. But he never rushes he doesn't beat around the bush in my opinion I like that. The wait time is never long. I've never waited in the waiting room longer then 5-6 minutes and when I get to the examine room it's never long then 4-5 minutes.
