I have been going to the same dermatologist for over 20 years but my friend has great things to say about Forefront Dermatology so I decided to check it out. I wasn't disappointed! The office is conveniently located and outfitted with all the tech. I came in to have a skin tag removed and was pleased that they were willing to do it on a new patient. The price is $100 for 1 skin tag and not too much more if you have more (I think $150 for 2-10?). In my case, insurance covered the cost, so I paid my usual specialist copay plus about $10 for the procedure. I was pleased that Dr. Anselmo also had time to take a look at my eczema after doing the skin tag removal. He recommended a type of cream I hadn't used before and was willing to advocate for me to get prescribed this cream even though it required some extra hoops to get insurance coverage. I'm surprised this office doesn't have more stars, I've had nothing but great experiences here with both Joanne Towers and Dr. Magnino. The front office is very friendly and I've never had to wait more than a couple of minutes in the waiting room or in the exam room. Joanne Towers and Dr. Magnino both take the time to listen to my concerns, and answer all my questions. I had an IPL facial with Dr. Magnino with wonderful results. The doctor Freidrich Anselmo really disappointed me. With two visits with him, he could not find the cause of my itching. The reason is that he didn't even investigate the itching areas. Later, I asked a PA who was better. After 4 visits, the doctors still haven't found the cause of original itching. Later, my family members I visited reported to me that it was scabies that my mom got from nursing home and passed to our family members. I told the doctors the symptoms the extreme itching at nights. But Dr Anselmo didn't check the itching area skin 's scabies tunnels. It was my sister told me her doctor immediately looking into the scabies tunnels under her itching skins. I used my sister's methods and online AI tools and finally cured my itching. The doctors here didn't pay attention to the key features extremely itching at nights, all allergy medicines he gave me didn't help at all. 4 doctors visits, they charged almost $1000. my insurance covered most of them. They are bothering me to pay the remaining bills. It is not a lot. less than $100. But if they keep bothering me with it, I will talk to a liability attorney to sue their ignorance and malpractice. They wanted me to visit more times and did all blood tests even included HIV, HBV, etc. If doctors investigated the itching skin scabies tunnels, it can be cured very easily and cheaply. read more

The doctor herself was able to help diagnose a skin condition I had lived with for years but was misdiagnosed, and so treatment hadn't been very successful. The subsequent treatment she prescribed worked wonderfully; for that, I am very grateful. That being said, I feel misled by my care team as it pertained to the cost of additional treatment. I had (still have) a wart that needed treatment. The doctor brought out the nitrogen wart-freezing tool to treat the wart, treated it, and the visit concluded. I don't remember being informed that the treatment would correspond to such a substantial cost (~$110 after being adjusted down from $341.58). I understand that additional treatments result in additional costs, but at no point do I remember being told as much, and I certainly wasn't given a treatment estimate. Had I been duly informed I would have foregone the proposed treatment for drug store alternatives. While I feel taken care of medically, I feel taken advantage of otherwise. I feel like the star rating of this place is much better than the 3-stars it currently is. -The staff was friendly -I asked for the pricing, and they told me when asked -They removed a (possibly) cancerous mole, for just $330! Which is a really great deal compared to almost any other place. -They got it all done (visit, consultation, removal and stitching) all within about an hour -The entire thing was painless Second I'd like to respond to Nick's review, because it's so ridiculous: Really?! You're complaining that they did a procedure on you to remove a wart, and only charged you $110? You didn't even ASK them the price for it, and yet you're complaining they didn't tell you when you didn't even ask? Why didn't you ask them, if you wanted to know the price? And you admit that your prior doctor (not this place) misdiagnosed you? You'd think that you would have learned your lesson by now that quality matters a little more than *only* price, since your last doctor couldn't even diagnose you right... I just had my first consultation with Dr. Joanne Towers and i am beyond impressed. I felt heard, listened too and i also felt like i understood my course of treatment. Heather, the MA, was also super helpful in looking up medication classes and being supportive throughout the appointment. I called my hubby immediately and told him that he needed to switch providers to this office, because Dr. Towers was so amazing!! Definitely will return for any skin needs and am looking forward to getting my treatment there. I went in for dark spots and hair loss. I didn't feel pushed to buy any products or feel terrified about what medications were prescribed. They even found a pharmacy that covered them all! read more

If you feel you must go here, be forewarned to ask about pricing!!! I have a costly mistake by not doing so. They've billed me $350 for a new patient visit. After the fact of getting that break down, I'm told it was because the doctor did these actions: made a dx, wrote a prescription and then had to talk about the medication management. *This* is considered a moderate billing code, hence the higher cost. Guess it's more lucrative for them to bill this ala cart. Thanks to this experience, I now have a new line of questioning when I call a doctor's office as a new patient. read more

I would definitely not recommend this business. I was seen for a visit and received prescriptions. Apparently, for the dosage level of one of the prescriptions, the pharmacy needs approval from the doctor's office. The pharmacy and I have spent about 4 weeks trying to get in touch with someone for them to fill out whatever the form is that's needed. I've spoken with someone who assured me it would get done (it hasn't) and I have left voicemails. When I call a different section of the company to at least talk to a person, they transfer me to voicemail again. Their after hours phone service refuses to take a message for this sort of "routine call" so even though I talk to a person there, they just repeat how they "can't go against guidelines." On another note, like the other reviewers, this office is always running late. Don't bother trying to ask about the timing or request they tell you they're running late in advance because they will give you attitude about it. They also constantly upsell on very expensive products you can only buy there. Go elsewhere. This dermatology office is giving me more wrinkles. read more

I had an appointment back in July of this year. I was looking for a second opinion on a skin problem before leaving the country for three months. The visit itself was not great; it felt like the doctor was trying to push an expensive treatment on me that I heard wasn't very effective. What's worse, they signed me up for a follow-up visit despite knowing I was leaving the country, and then when I missed the appointment they charged me $50. Not a great time overall. read more

I highly recommend this doctors office!! I've only dealt with the PA Joanne Towers, but she alone was why I changed to this practice!! She was filling in at another Forefront Dermatology practice which is closer to my house, but I liked her so much, that I followed her. I love her and my daughter does too. She's suffering from bad acne and Joanne was SO patient and supportive. We did not have a wait at all! It might be worth noting that the main doctor at the practice has changed. This review is for PA, Rachel Kokal. I have seen her a few times now. To be honest, I prefer going to the PA's over doctors sometimes. I feel that they spend their time with me and don't rush. Rachel was very honest with me and understood my needs. I am currently suffering from adult acne and being recently engaged, this is not fun. Rachel was honest in the fact that she told me what she uses, and told me to do the same. I appreciate that SO much, it was nice not to be pushed to buy all these pricey products. I got prescribe to an antibiotic, a low dose and they switched my birth control. Apparently the one I was using was contributing to the acne, yikes! Unfortunately, the antibiotic did not help, it got worse. Rachel calmed my nerves in the fact that the prescription is getting rid of all the nasty acne underneath my skin. After finishing the antibiotic, I did not see results, just more acne. Not Rachel's fault, my skins fault. She put me on a second antibiotic, a higher dose, and that worked a lot! A few pimples here and there but nothing like I was getting before. There was one time I was so worried about my skin I called her at the office, she was so nice and was not annoyed that I called her at work. I was being a drama queen about my skin, and she understood where I was coming from! :) I am due back for an appointment and we need to tackle some mild acne I am still getting and my acne scars. I have a lot of left over red and dark blemishes and potential acne scars I need to treat. The front desk staff is nice and helpful! They have a big parking lot, major plus. The reason for four stars is because I was told that my acne blemishes would heal over time. I don't have time to let them heal. Being engaged and all the events that comes with it I need a faster method than healing with time. Also, make up doesn't do the best job at covering them up. read more

I went in to hopefully get a solution for my adult acne and the doctor didn't even look at my face and she immediately prescribed me 5 different medications..... 2 of which were cosmetic and not medication and they were over $1,000! I ripped up the entire prescription and started using defferin gel but I'm searching for a new dermatologist soon. read more

I have to agree with everyone about the ridiculous wait time in the lobby area and even longer wait once you are in a room. What's the point of setting an appointment if we can't see the doctor for over an hour and a half? And it was difficult to make one in the first place too. I had to wait about a month or so before they can squeeze me in for an appointment. I saw Dr. Albert on my first visit and then Rachel when I needed my stitches removed. Wait time is awful. Waited about an hour for both my 2 visits. Front desk ladies were chit chatting too loud, so unprofessional! Dr. Albert wasn't really pay attention during my appointment I felt like he has so many clients waiting at lobby so he had to rush or something. Just overall he prescribed me a couple medicine for my acne which never helped. I took it almost over a month no result. My second appointment was for the test result and remove my stitch from lab test. But!!!! amazingly they decided to send me bill for my second visit. I have complained about my bill but no one has solved for me. After 4 weeks later, they called me and said they still need to charge because apparently discussing my test result needs to be paid. Dr. Albert is a great doctor. However, making an appointment with him is extremely difficult. It takes a few months to get an appointment. THEN when you actually come in for your appointment be ready to sit in the room for at least 2 hours if not more waiting for him to actually see you.... The front desk people are always rude especially if you call about something. I've been coming here for years and I dread it every time. I am leaving this review in two parts - the first for the PA, Rachel and then for the admin staff. Rachel is seriously the best. She seems really genuine and caring, and on top of that she very knowledgeable. I go back here specifically for her. If you can get past the front desk, she is the gem in that place. I can't decide if I'm not giving in 5 stars for the admin staff or if I'm not giving it 0 stars b/c of their PA. I have had a few issues with the front desk staff at this doctor's office. There was a time when they completely forgot to issue me a refill for a certain med but this was rectified somewhat due to their admin manager meeting with me face to face ( please know I had to do a walk in just to talk to her). The one incident recently that threw me off was when I called to reschedule an appointment and they charged me for a missed appointment. This didn't make sense so I called to ask to have the fee waived. They refused to do this as a courtesy to a very loyal client ( have been going here for years) and I was even told, word for word, " we don't have a problem sending you to collections." I am not saying anyone else will have the same experiences, I hope you don't! But if you are lucky enough to find Rachel, don't let her go! read more

A dermatologist should be attentive to your needs, helpful and accommodating. This office is none of the above. Appointments are extremely difficult to get. Never saw the actual Doctor even one time. Saw the PA each time. She was very rude, brief and came across with an attitude that I was annoying her. Office managers and reception were constantly nasty over the phone. I had my first appt with Dr Albert yesterday. I was pleased with the overall experience. I did have to wait approx 20-30 minutes past my appt time, but that appears to be the norm across all types of Drs these days. I did opt to have a procedure while there which I assume must make planning difficult for the staff and Dr. Dr Albert was straight up with me on the procedure, provided some realistic and worst case scenarios. Offered a no-charge follow up visit in 30 days. The procedure I feel was reasonably priced. I'm a fan. read more

Showed up early to my appointment and filled out my new patient paperwork. I was called back only 2 min after and met with PA Rachel immediately. Due to complications with my skin in the past and reactions to medications, she brought in the physician to also evaluate me. They both spent time discussing my issues and set me up on a regiment of meds and topical treatments. It was very cut and dry, which I appreciate, and I was out of the office in under an hour. I have had chronic, severe contact dermatitis on the soles and sides of my feet for over 15 years. My feet have been so inflamed, painful and intensely itchy that I have altered my lifestyle since I sometimes can't be on my feet very much. Over the years, I have seen numerous dermatologists without any improvement to my feet until I saw Dr. Moses and his PA, Rachel Kokal. Dr. Moses immediately suspected a potential allergy to my footwear and ordered allergy testing. It was discovered that I was allergic to Potassium Dichromate, a chemical used in dyeing leather. It makes perfect sense since the pattern of inflamed skin was exactly where my feet contacted my shoes. I'm very grateful to Dr. Moses for recognizing the problem so that I can avoid exposure to this chemical. My feet are finally on the mend and don't hurt anymore. I'm very happy with my experience at Fairfax Dermatology and wish I had found Dr. Moses years ago! read more
