I've had nothing but a great experience with Integrated Dermatology after a very frustrating time with another practice in Virginia. I was initially denied coverage for a very expensive medication that I'd previously gotten through a patient support program, but I lost access after my former dermatologist missed a deadline (not fun!!). By the time I came to Integrated Dermatology, I felt discouraged and honestly didn't expect a quick resolution. But their team immediately sprang into action, quickly resubmitted a prior authorization with the correct documentation, and within a few days, I was approved. I was so relieved that I even saved the approval letter from my insurer--a first and probably a last! Everyone I've interacted with has been professional, responsive, and clearly committed to helping patients navigate complex situations. The medical assistants especially deserve recognition. They handle the often thankless, behind-the-scenes work, including insurance coordination, with patience, kindness, and expertise. Dr. Agnes Chang's leadership as medical director has clearly made a lasting impact. She will be missed, but I'm confident the team will continue to provide excellent care moving forward. read more

She is extremely thorough and has removed multiple moles that were pre-cancerous or cancerous. (Wear sunscreen, folks!) Their website strangely is not optimized to use on a computer. I can't use the book an appointment button because it wants me to open an app. If I click on Call Us at the top of their page, it doesn't show their phone number, again get a popup to open an app. Thus their phone number is not listed anywhere on their website so I had to come to yelp to find it. Once when I called no one answered the phone at 9:30am so I had to hold for 5 minutes before someone picked up. Once the office has Nest soap and a burning candle so the entire suite smelled lovely! I've seen Victoria a few times now plus Nicole and Dr. McKelroy. If you have a follow up question to your visit you can email the office and they are very receptive. For emergencies they will see you same day. They don't have me pay the co-pay when I exit, they email it to me later. I would prefer to pay on the spot to avoid potentially missing the email later. My co-pay amount is on my card, its always the same. I see someone else in their review was sent to collections because they didn't get the bill. I took a star off because I don't like this one operational procedure. You are seen by a tech first who asks you why you're there and takes pictures of you to show the doctor who will review before she sees you. Sorry I don't want pictures of me taken every time. And when you ask for the paperwork from the visit (to send elsewhere), it includes your picture! To me it makes it seem like the doctor can't look at you and diagnose on the spot, she needs advance notice to be able to google and check with her peers. Also I was asked if I wore sunscreen everyday and I said yes I wear Korean sunscreen and she said well as long as it has zinc in it. Only American sunscreen has zinc in it, there are much better, more advanced filters out there. It made me wonder if I'm getting better educated from youtube than from my doctor. read more

Reservation process is painful and misleading - I asked for a doctor and ended up being assigned to a PA-C. Front desk staff are rude and inefficient. Wait times are unpredictable and sometimes unreasonable. This practice has nice facilities but they are a facade for a pretty awful patient experience. read more

I have been going to Dr. Chang for 3 years. She is so personable. First I saw her for my skin checks during which she diagnosed 2 skin cancers and more recently for Sculptra. She is so precise with the injections to create symmetry in my face. The health of my skin has improved dramatically and it is so much fuller than it use to be. I get compliments on my skin and lack of wrinkles and I owe it to her expertise! read more

After almost six years of mysterious facial itching and rash, multiple biopsies, etc., Dr. Chang solved the mystery, and I'm largely rash-itch free. My lips were scaling and swelling, and that has also cleared up. Going to Dr. Chang was a life-changing experience. She went out of her way to get me the medication I needed. I couldn't give a higher recommendation to anyone. I had been seeing highly rated dermatologists and allergists monthly in NYC for about four years with no improvement. One of them never showed up, and I saw a new PA each time I had an appointment over the course of 18 months. Later, I learned that he only saw clients for the relatively profitable cosmetic procedures. Even though she practices cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Chang is a serious medical dermatologist who consistently provides excellent care to her patients. Her office staff is equally as informed, considerate, and quick to respond as she has been. Highly recommended for any dermatologic problems. read more

I believe it is a scam to get more money. I've said yes and then in a week or so I'm sent a check for over payment. The office is definitely not organized, with no integrity. I have received excellent care from Integrated Dermatology of K Street, and Allison Senerchia in particular. I've had melanoma three times. Three. And I am 40-years-old. Ms Senerchia diligently cares for me and goes above and beyond what I have ever experienced with another dermatologist. Her exams are thorough, timely, and as pleasant as a skin exam can be. She never keeps me waiting, and respects my time as well as me as a person. It makes a big difference to me, for sure. She cared for me through a really scary event, making sure I had exactly the medications she wanted me to have, getting exactly the treatment she felt I needed. She even provided me with her email address and would check in on me and ask for photos and descriptions to make sure I was healing properly. I don't know about you, but I have never, ever had a healthcare professional do that for me. She was sensational, and everything turned out a-ok. I get my skin checked every three months, and it's always an easy, well-times process with no waiting, no hassle, not additional fees... it's just easy and I trust them. I highly recommend this practice and Ms Senerchia in particular. read more

Predatory billing practices. I just received a bill for a regular skin check I attended 6 months ago. The bill was for a supposed co-pay, but my insurance had no co-pay on this appointment. The billing technician I called was very nice but clueless; she didn't know why I had never been billed until now. I received the bill on a 7pm and it was marked as due the same day. I spent the year of 2021 & 2022 with itchy, flaky ankles, legs and feet. I had 1 visit here the first week of January 2023 and 1 prescription and my skin looks almost back to the original skin. Update: the office manager called me and left a voicemail that was sincerely apologetic and really kind. She had wanted me to call or email her back to talk more about my experience and I've been super busy with a new baby so I haven't been able to, but the main point is that they seem to truly care about the service they're providing. At both of my visits, Dr. McElroy was great and very thorough--my main issue was the disorganization of the office and having to call in multiple times for biopsy results (which I did finally end up getting 3 weeks later). They are fine and get the job done. I did a virtual visit, it was easy to schedule, and the doctor was kind. She's promoting more highly-priced materials, but more as an option rather than a must (This may be because of being cognizant about the product market). One area for their clients to know is that they are very focused on the U.S. standard of beauty, care, and dermatological care. This is not a critique and is important when someone researches this clinic for their specific needs. There was an awkward billing error, but the person I spoke to was kind and rectified it. Tip: It's good for their employees, and as a reference for their clients they don't take phone calls during lunch hour from 12-1. read more

The location is the best part. The doctors have all been fine, but clearly in a rush to move people in an out. My biggest problem is that their office has had errors or delays in every interaction I have had with them. Prescription refill problems many times, tele-medicine appointments that no doctor shows up for because the office listed them as office visits (this happened twice). Submitting a claim to the wrong provider and then sending me bills. Once in 2020 it took me 3 calls and 3 emails to get a single reply for a script refill (!). The L & K Street locations mix up files and are on different systems. Some of the individuals in the office have been helpful in fixing errors, but ultimately I end up frustrated with the office every time for one reason or another. I am finally switching to a different practice, which I should have done a few years ago. read more

This is a long overdue review. I saw Dr. Chang a few years ago for a skin issue - dark / pigmented spots appearing all over the place for no apparent reason. I was really stressed out at the time about it so decided I needed to see a dermatologist. Dr. Chang took a look at the spots, and wasn't sure what was going on, so decided a biopsy was necessary. She and the technician asked me to point out one the most recent spot that had appeared, which was on my left shoulder, for the biopsy. I hesitated because I didn't want a visible scar on my shoulder, and clearly asked her if it might make sense to choose one that was on my leg or somewhere else for the biopsy if a scar was likely to appear. The technician assured me several times, emphatically, there wouldn't be any visible scar. Well, that was a lie. Still have a very visible scar after several years, and it makes me hate wearing tank tops or strapless dresses. Thankfully, the biopsy showed nothing. Dr. Chang prescribed a bunch of different creams for me, none of which really worked. Luckily for me, the issue resolved itself a few months later...another dermatologist later told me it was likely a stress-induced episode and a biopsy was probably unnecessary. Seems like this practice is fine for cosmetic procedures, but if you have actual skin problems - go elsewhere. read more

I really wanted to give Integrated Dermatology a good review because I really liked the staff and thought they did a great job once you are actually in there office. All of the issues getting into their office will keep me from using them again. Dr. Chang and her staff were extremely friendly, laid back, and knowledgeable. They provided some excellent advice and next steps. The staff got you in and out efficiently and were very professional. Had there not been so many issues outside of the office, I would've recommended Integrated Dermatology and been a regular. I had a suspicious mole looked at, analyzed, and told that I would get results in 2 weeks. It took the office 6 weeks to give me the results, which showed that the mole was abnormal. When I asked what took so long for them to give me the results, they could not give me an answer. This alone was concerning as I would think anything abnormal should probably be addressed immediately. When I scheduled the appointment for removal, it took an additional 6 weeks to get something on their calendar. I had a heavy travel schedule and explained this to the office so that the appointment would not be changed. 48 hours before my appointment that I had scheduled 6 weeks before, I was called and told that my appointment would be changed to a day that I could no longer attend and that I had given the office as a black-out day. When I called the office back, no one picked up (something that I seem to experience every time I call their office) and when I left a message, it took nearly 48 hours for them to get back to me. After rescheduling my appointment, I was again called with little advance notice and told that my appointment would need to be rescheduled again. After rescheduling a second time, I was again contacted to see if I could move the appointment to another less convenient time. Once I finally got into the office, they took care of me quickly and efficiently. Again, the staff was personable and very professional. When my mole was removed, I was told that my stitches would be dissolvable and I would not need to return for stitch removal. However, 5 weeks later, after wondering why the area where the mole was removed was not healing properly, I found at least one stitch and strand that seems to be preventing it from fully healing and may cause additional scarring. Given the hassle I've had contacting the office in the past, I am just going to go to another office to have the stitches removed and will find myself a new dermatologist. read more

For 11 years or so I have been seen at this office because it was across the street from my place of work. In all that time I have never seen a doctor, although reviewing my insurance, a prima facie, looks like I was billed as though I had. I actually paid for an aesthetic consult with a doctor. I thought great, I am going to finally meet the doctor, and instead for a tech and there was nothing informative about the meeting at all. It was a money grab. My payment was non refundable even though I didn't get what I paid for. I should have stopped going but the tech's ability to zap a virulent spot with irresistable. I went into the office one day and it was freeforall. They were literally having chair races in the hall laughing. Why not? There was no doctor present. So I paid an amount reflected on the patient portal. The next thing I know I got a collection notice. I called and learned that the portal wasn't updated. Even though I sent regular payments through my HSA which I need to now audit, the billing dept didn't update my account online so I had no idea I owed extra money. I just paid it in full --for the record. They sent me to collection while keeping my aesthetic consultant deposit for a service I didn't get. read more

Setting aside their services, which I would say are "meh" at best (my last skin check was particularly cursory), this place's billing practices are a mess. They had an address for me on file that was not even close to my actual address (so not a case of just misreading my handwriting), and failed to update my husband's address on file even after calling him to confirm the correct address - and then called and threatened to refer the case to debt collection even though he hadn't received a single bill. We also repeatedly get bills for other customers at our address, despite returning marked "wrong address" multiple times. Their administrative folks clearly just don't care - and we won't be returning. read more

I went to this practice several years ago, pre-pandemic, for a treatment that required a deposit. They refused to provide that treatment, saying I was not a good candidate for it, and offered a different kind of treatment. This treatment made my condition worse. When I sought a refund of the deposit, they refused, saying it had been "absorbed" by the office. I never once saw a doctor there. I went through this so no one else has to--find yourself a practice that actually cares about your treatment, and you as a patient. read more

This is the BEST dermatologist office ever! I've been coming here regularly for about four years, for both medical (skin cancer screenings/possibly-cancerous mole removals/the occasional mystery rash) and cosmetic (laser treatments) reasons. Victoria, the best PA in the world, is who I usually see. She is smart, kind, takes great care when treating you, and answers all of my silly questions very patiently. She once said, "your skin is my skin!" and she obviously believes that. I've told a few friends to go see her, and now we all have a little Victoria fan club. She's just the best. Dr. Chang is also amazing! I've only just recently seen her - she's done my last two laser treatments. She is also incredibly smart, kind, and she's possibly even more excited about my skin's progress than I am! I 100% recommend her. The rest of the staff is also great. The assistants and front desk staff are very nice and helpful, and the cosmetic consultant Caroline (who I bother when I'm feeling anxious about lasering my face off) is wonderful too. I've also never had any problems with insurance billing, which I've run into multiple times with other derm office's in DC. Just a note on my laser treatments, because I don't see any reviews about that on here: In the hands of experienced medical practitioners like Victoria and Dr. Chang, the lasers have been great (don't get this done at a spa! lasers are serious business). I've gotten both Fraxel and erbium laser treatments, and I'm seeing great results (I like the erbium better fyi). I had bad acne as a teen/young adult that left me with lots of scarring on my cheeks and temples. The lasers have made them SO much less noticeable, with the added bonus of improving overall tone and texture. I get compliments on my skin now! Also, I was the one who brought up treatments for this issue. They never ever said negative things about my skin or pushed any sort of treatment on me - they only suggested it after I specifically brought up the scarring/texture issue and asked about cosmetic treatments for it. read more

I _loved_ this office! Easy appointments, lovely and professional and thorough providers. I got my skin cancer treated here and skin exams done for years. Until they managed to mess up their billing and then--after 5 phone calls advising them they were billing the WRONG insurance company--they continued to make the same mistake. We are now over one year into this, and no matter how many times I call and explain the situation--no matter how many times they assure me THIS TIME they got it, they continue to royally mess up this very simple task: bill the RIGHT company. Dr. Chang is fabulous and I really love her. I chose her based on N.S.'s review (and thankfully, did not have any billing issues as she did) and am glad that I did. She is really outgoing and has beautiful skin, which is key for me in a dermatologist. Dr. Chang knew exactly what my skin issues were and made great recommendations for resolution of those issues. Though I cannot afford everything that she suggested, I now have something to save for. I also really liked her assistant, Stacey, and the receptionist. The only person I was not too fond of was the check-out associate, because she was not that friendly and she seemed a bit spacey. But I've already booked a follow-up appointment and skin cancer check for the fall. read more
