Background: I am a healthy male age 60. My story is a bit usual in that I sought treatment because of a past eye issue called Ectropion. A previous face lift performed several years prior to me seeing Dr. Rad, caused my eye left eye to sag and droop away from the eye. That prior surgery was not performed by Dr. Rad. Because of my Ectropion, I did not feel, nor believe, that my left eye was attractive looking. In my research to resolve and fix this Ectropion, I sought out several doctors who might be able to not only understand my concern about my eye, but also one who could delve right into the flaw and defect of my Ectropion, to resolve not only the physical nature of Ectropion, but also the aesthetics of my eye (and overall face). As I live in Tampa Florida, I had consultations with a half dozen local doctors. Each of my consultations with local Florida doctors turned out to be a waste of my consultation fee because the local doctors either thought that my eye was perfectly fine and that I could live with the slight droop and sag of my left lower eyelid or did not appreciate my aesthetics concern. As such, I broadened my search for doctors outside of Florida including Washington DC. That's how and where I found Dr. Rad. Dr. Rad's website specifically states a procedure called "Cat Eye" Canthoplasty/Cantoplexy to help "one whose eyes tilt slightly downward and/or whose outer lower eyelid contours appear to be "sagging." Canthoplasty/Cantoplexy can help those who have Ectropion. As such, I made a consultation appointment with Dr. Rad at his Washington, DC office. Dr. Rad understood my concerns both physically and aesthetics, and advised me that Canthoplasty/Cantoplexy would resolve my Ectropion. I agreed to have Dr. Rad perform the "cat eye," along with a mid-face lift and eyebrow lift. Surgery: Dr. Rad was very attentive to my concerns right before surgery and calmed my nerves. Dr. Rad cares about his patients. Dr. Rad listened to any and all questions and concerns that I had prior to surgery, and answered them all. And after surgery, Dr. Rad took my phone call from his cell phone two days after surgery, when I had a few questions about my recovery. Having Dr. Rad "on-call" for my questions really impressed me. But more importantly, Dr. Rad answered my concerns about bruising and swelling. As you can imagine, just two days after surgery, a patient can have mental and physical stress/distress. Dr. Rad was there, to talk to me the first time I rang his cell phone. I felt assured after speaking with Dr. Rad about my condition and recovery. As I write this now, I am 3 months post-op. My Ectropion is completely gone. The "cat eye" procedure not only resolved my underlying issue of Ectropion, but also gave my eyes a fresher look. Yes, the eyes are slightly tilted like a cat, but not so much where it looks unusual. The bottom line is that I received exactly what I asked for: "cat eye" that resolved my Ectropion--forever! I thank Dr. Rad from start (consultation) to end (end of surgery and now several months post-op). I not only recommend Dr. Rad for his face surgeries, but I recommend that prospective patients see only Dr. Rad for any and all of your facial surgeries. Should I ever have another surgery on my face (though unlikely), it is mandatory for me to have it done by Dr. Rad. Thank you Dr. Rad for resolving my Ectropion! I never thought it could be done, especially after speaking to the local Florida doctors who seemed to brush my concerns aside. "Recommending" Doctor Rad is an understatement. What I Wish I Had Known Before My Facelift Surgery with Dr. Ariel Rad. I am sharing MY personal experience and MY personal opinion as a patient. As context, I am now more than eight months post-op and still experiencing many complications. In addition to the earlier issues (including but not limited to multiple and painful eye infections, an ER visit upon waking up from surgery, lumps and bumps from fat grafting, lump of fluid behind my ear pouring a strange liquid directly into my mouth, pleats from scarring behind my ear, asymmetrical brows,rounded and closed eyes, persistent itching of the scalp and numbness of one of my ear), I now have pain and discomfort in my neck. My neck feels extremely tight and painful. My face, eyebrows, and eyes are very asymmetrical, as you can see in the pictures. My face looks very different, and it has been extremely distressing, emotionally and physically...In addition, after sharing my experience elsewhere , I received an email from the office stating that my post made it difficult to maintain a doctor-patient relationship. And, after my last appointment, I received another email regarding the termination of the doctor-patient relationship. Dr. Rad does not wish to continue my care. This is not how I expected to be treated after paying that kind of money I originally found Dr. Rad through Instagram and had signed a social media contract allowing him to use my pictures ( in exchange of a discount), though I do not believe my face will appear on his page. I commented on a post of his page. I later noticed that I could no longer see his public Instagram profile anymore. When I asked why, Dr. Rad told me it was not relevant to my care and did not provide further explanation. I personally regret having chosen Dr. Ariel Rad for my procedure. Dr. Rad and his entire staff are incredibly thorough, responsive, so kind, and exceptional at their craft.   I had a chin augmentation, buccal fat removal, and fat grafting to my upper cheek area after describing to Dr. Rad that I wanted a more heart-shaped face shape. During my initial consult, Dr. Rad sat with me for over an hour going over all the potential options I had when exploring how to achieve the look I wanted.   Dr. Rad and his team are very understanding that these are significant decisions, both physically and financially. Although they followed up quickly after the initial consult, there was no pressure to commit right away to any specific procedure or date. They were flexible and patient as I made several changes to what specific procedures I wanted to do before the final decision.   Dr. Rad performed my surgeries at INOVA Fairfax as he insists on holding up to the highest safety standards. Having the surgeries at an established hospital rather than in a surgeon's office was an absolute must for me, so this was a huge selling point.   Almost 2 weeks post-op, I am looking and feeling incredible. I have no scarring and my incisions are totally hidden. Dr. Rad was personally available for any questions I (or my husband) had pre-and post-surgery. His office reached out several times as well to check in as my healing was progressing.   I am ecstatic about seeing the final look as I still have a couple more weeks of healing. The biggest relief I have from this whole experience is that I look like this is how I always looked. Even at this point, my results are so natural and seamlessly come together, nothing looks out of place or visibly "done". You absolutely get what you pay for from Dr. Rad. I truly cannot recommend any dermatologist more so than I do Dr Noëlle Sherber of Sherber and Rad. I started seeing Dr Sherber about a year ago after I realized that years of basking in the glory of the sun sans sunscreen or hats had indeed taken a toll. Over the last couple of years unsightly sun spots and general skin tone issues began to emerge, and nothing I did seemed to help. I researched well-regarded dermatologists in the area and Dr Sherber kept coming to my attention. I had done my due diligence and knew Dr Sherber was extraordinarily well-educated, but her kindness, empathy and compassion (almost) trump her intellect and talent. I have been undergoing treatment for my hyperpigmentation with Dr Sherber using the Clear and Brilliant laser. Between the laser and Dr Sherber overhauling my previous skincare routine (of course, kindly and only after I asked as Dr Sherber does not sell you on anything not asked about, needed or proven to be effective) my skin has literally never looked better. I am floored by the dramatic improvements I have seen over the last year. But moreover, I simply look forward to seeing Dr Sherber as she takes such a genuine interest in the lives of her patients. They are always friendly, helpful and stayed in touch with me throughout my entire process for my surgery. They made everything very easy for me and the level of professionalism is like no other. I have never felt so comfortable with any other practice. Initially I felt a little intimated by their state of the art office but I am so glad I stayed to meet with him. He is very kind and thorough. He was the only doctor that spoke with me as the patient and not my boyfriend. I was his main focus and he also took time to answer my boyfriend's questions. He was the only surgeon who not only focused on what type of result I wanted but also highly focused on the health aspects of going through with my breast augmentation. He has great bedside manner and a calming effect. He met with me prior to going into surgery and also with my boyfriend. He reassured me everything would be fine because he could see how nervous I was and also reassured my boyfriend. After my surgery he spoke to my boyfriend to let him know everything went well. I have really high praise for this practice and definitely now consider myself a patient for life. After moving to the area and settling in, I decided it was time to finally take the plunge and address some long-standing cosmetic concerns. I decided to seek out the services of Dr. Sherber after being impressed with her credentials, experience, and glowing reviews. After my consultation, I was sold on her being my cosmetic dermatologist. Her affect is warm and kind but she really makes sure she understands your goals for your skin and is excellent in explaining all treatment options and potential outcomes in a way that's easy to understand. I really felt listened to, and she was patient in taking the time to answer all of my questions-even the silly ones! The office she and her husband practice out of is beautiful and spotless and every other employee I've interacted with from the receptionists to medical assistants has always made me feel at home, helping me feel even more confident in the treatment I receive here. So far, all of my treatments have been pretty simple and non-invasive, and I really appreciate the fact that Dr. Sherber personally performs all of them. This might lead to the price point being higher than at alternative locations but there's good reason for that and it's worth every extra penny. Five stars aren't enough for Dr. Rad. I had a bilateral mastectomy, DIEP flap breast construction, and hernia repair in March 2020. Cancer was a devastating diagnosis. Then, the complications that came with the COVID quarantine made it even more stressful. I am fortunate Dr. Rad led the team of physicians and nurses who operated on me during such a challenging time. At our pre-surgery consult, Dr. Rad discussed my surgical options. It's not often you find a talented physician who has an exceptional bedside manner. He actively listened and understood that my post-surgery appearance was important to me and that how my body performed and moved afterward equally critical. He tailored a surgical approach that met all my needs. Then, weeks before the surgery, the COVID quarantine happened. Dr. Rad consulted with the hospital, my oncologist, and called me--offering to remove the cancer, but to postpone major reconstruction in order to reduce my time in the hospital. Ultimately, we decided to move ahead with our original plan. Dr. Rad has also cultivated the same caliber of professionals with his office staff. They quickly helped me navigate through complicated paperwork and insurance requirements and were always available to answer my questions. I have been considering getting liposuction for a few years now. I had consultations with a few doctors in Washington, D.C. and Miami, Florida. I never build the trust with any of the doctors that I visited, until I had a consultation with Dr. Rad. I had prophylactic mastectomy done in 2014 at Johns Hopkins. Initially the surgeon at Johns Hopkins told me that I was a candidate for DIEP reconstruction. However when the plastic surgeon at Johns Hopkins saw me for the follow up appointment weeks after the mastectomy, the surgeon unexpectedly recommended implants, and advised me against DIEP. I felt lost and confused. Then I made an appointment with Dr. Rad. Dr. Rad convinced me that I would be a good candidate for the DIEP. Today I am absolutely proud of my new body, thanks to Dr. Rad. He performed DIEP reconstruction surgery and two revision surgeries with fat grafting. He also corrected surgical mistakes which had been made at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Rad is the most skillful and knowledgeable plastic surgeon in the Washington DC area. His expertise, artistic eye, and excellent bedside manners make of him an excellent professional. I found Sherber +Rad by chance as my office is across the street. I was very disappointed with my former dermatologist so walked in to talk to the front desk staff (the wonderful Zoe) at Sherber + Rad about my concerns and issues. Over the years I have developed serious pigmentation due to sun exposure and my former dermatologist wanted me to do a complete facial peel....the acid deal...and the photos scared me to death of patients who had had the procedure. Dr. Sherber's team talked to me about other less scary options and I made my first appointment for a special type of laser treatment. 4 months later my skin looks like it did when I was in my 20s...I am now 54. I could not be happier with the service from both Dr. Sherber and her team....Zoe and Stacy. They took their time with me (1 hour + for the first visit) and talked to me about options for treatment. Dr. Sherber also discovered a pre cancerous spot on my check, a spot that I had pointed out to my former dermatologist and his response was it is nothing. Each time, I'm always greeted by her warm and gracious front office staff. The comfort of Sherber+Rad's private waiting areas is also first class. And the best and most important part is seeing Dr. Sherber herself. Dr. Sherber is not only a superb dermatologist, she also shows a keen interest in you and your medical concerns and recommends a course of treatment that is thorough and always explained in detail. I had been battling rosacea for years and was so incredibly unhappy. After several doctors and countless medications that did not work I met Dr. Sherber and immediately knew she could help me - AND SHE DID!!! I met with several doctors prior to meeting Dr. Rad, and I knew instantly that he was the only doctor I needed to see. Right from the start his office staff was professional, kind and efficient. I was never left waiting past my appointment time and was never rushed during my appointment. Dr. Rad took a lot of time reviewing my case, asking intelligent questions and always providing thoughtful and honest answers. He even, on more than one occasion, called me at my home in the evening to address some of my questions prior to and after my procedure.
