Along with basic facial the best added pro is they give a bit of head and neck massage along with arms massage as well ! It was a great touch for relaxation! Everything was good and my skin really feels refreshed. The only reason I reduced stars is that I did not like their chair that they use for massages ! Basically the chair is tilted and kind of your feet are up thighs & feet in a 90degree position. I was super uncomfortable throughout in that position and my back hurt badly later as all the weight was going into my lower back ! I've been a long time member of Skin Zen Spa. It's the one thing I treat myself to each month - a facial. The change in my skin has been amazing. They have a great selection of products from Eminence and Skinceuticals along with their own line of products. I like several of their facial cleansers along with the microdermabrasion powder. I am a Premier member so I switch between Eminence and Skinceuticals products every month. I occasionally will do an add-on service of a stronger mask. The extra shoulder and hand/arm massage during the facial is wonderful. Also, don't forget the scalp massage! I leave with wild hair but I'm so relaxed I don't care! My only complaint is that two of my favorite aestheticians left after working there for many years due to career changes and moves. Luckily I've found a new employee that I really like. Thank you Stacy! The do offer walk-in facials or you can join an pay a monthly set fee for a facial. If you have the ability to do the monthly facial I really recommend it. During my pregnancy I've been looking for prenatal massages. They charge $99 if you're not a member which to me is totally worth it. They have a great parking lot. I always get stressed out when it's hard to find parking when I'm trying to de-stress. The front desk staff is very sweet. My massage therapist Delta is awesome. My experience was awful!! I tried this spa out for a deep tissue massage that was hardly deep tissue. I found it in spaweek.com where it was priced $69 for 70 minutes. Not only was my massage only 60 minutes, my masseuse left the room multiple times and I spent more time under hot towels then actually getting massaged. When my massage ended I was surprised to see that it was $99!! I showed them the price I saw online. When I made my appointment I even informed them I was a spa week customer! When the manager Vanessa called me today she refused to acknowledge anything and just said it's unfortunate that I'm the one who viewed the wrong pricing. Since then Vanessa has reached out saying she spoke to a manager (I thought she was the manager) and said they are "trying" to get me a GC. Unfortunately I have since been ghosted by Vanessa. I didn't think ghosting was professionally acceptable but here we are. I'd steer clear of here and instead go to Green Massage up the road in parmer. I've never had a bad experience there. You could have actually communicated with me instead of waiting for me to post my honest experience. Update on my skin- I'm closing in on 44 years old. I'm seeing defined expression lines (I don't mind) and dryness. I've been using the Eminence line for about three weeks now. The photo is the after cleansing portion- I also use the Calm Skin Chamomile cleanser. The result is supple clear skin with no flaking. My lines are still there but smooth rather than HARSH... Had my first facial there this weekend. Now, I'm a bit of a facial connoisseur, I get them every month like clockwork and have absolutely tried pretty much every reputable establishment in Austin (like to do my due diligence before committing to a membership) and this place was a definite win! I already have an appointment booked for next month and will update after I have another experience and results under my belt. The location was clean and professional, and the front desk help and esthetician both talkative and very friendly. I had a 50 minute detox facial (purchased through Groupon). They have these awesome chairs they flip you back on (I think called anti-gravity but don't quote me) which were literally the most comfortable facial bed/chair I've ever been on. My facialist talked me through all the products and asked all about my skin which I appreciate. They include a scalp, neck and upper body massage which was extremely thorough. When I left, my skin was LITERALLY. GLOWING and I was so relaxed throughout I dozed off. A couple of downsides though. There are no private rooms. Essentially, when you go back you go into a tiny dressing room and put on the towel wrap and put your clothes in a bucket. Then, you go back into the public hallway (eeek, in my towel wrap and yes I had pants on but still) before entering the back area where it's whisper only. It's one big room with dividers, so you have to walk by other patrons and workers in your towel wrap which made me a bit uncomfortable. I know, no one was paying me a bit of attention I'm sure, but I've never had to do that before. Also, because it's a shared room, you can hear other facialists talking to their clients. Another thing was that the facial advertised extractions, and they did put a mask on that had paprika i think to force stuff out of your pores, but no one did that painful sort of steam and extract with the sharp implement. Maybe I didn't need it (doubt it) but I am unsure if I got extractions. I will clarify at my next appointment. The final thing was the massage I mentioned above- it was long and thorough and took up a good portion of the appointment, which is fine, but while it's happening they put a mask on your face and it sets. I'm sure that's what it's supposed to do but I felt like less products were used on my face than normal. HOWEVER, my skin was glowing so I'm not too upset about it. They do have a member ship program and the pricing is REALLY GOOD. First member ship starts at $55 for the essential facial which is what I got. That's unheard of! Definitely give this place a try! read more

I have been coming to Skin Zen for about 3 years now, and still love it. Although staff shortages created limited availability for services, the staff made sure I got in as soon as I could! The masseuses are each amazing with different strengths which makes me leave feeling like jelly and so relaxed each time. The facials are so amazing and my skin has never looked better! When I called and inquired about the restrictions, I was told the only restrictions was it could not be used on massages. I even asked if I could use it for this particular facial and was told yes. You cannot blame my review on the services I received based upon this poorly given excuse and I'm sorry if it sounds harsh but I feel like I wasn't given adequate service. Last time I was there (granted it was a year ago) the service was wonderful and the lady that did my facial suggested their Hydrofacial. I looked them up and it was a bit pricey for me. However with the 50% coupon for my birthday I figured why not. BIG MISTAKE. As you can tell from their website they state that the service is good for all skin types and is approximately 45 minutes. I showed up about 10 minutes early. Walked in, checked in, and went to use the restroom. I came out and sat down for about a minute or two when they called me back. First thing that struck me as odd was last time when I had a facial I was able to undress and wear one of their comfortable robes and this time I was told that I wasn't doing that. Not sure why one facial you can use their robes in another you can't but OK. The facial itself was rather nice however and this is why I gave them a one star. Their 45 minute facial last 20, TWENTY MINUTES. When I asked about it upfront, the lady went in the back and pulled The person who did my facial up front. At first she tried to say that well the facials can be anywhere between 20 minutes to 45 minutes. Then I was told it was because my face was sensitive that she did not want to "go over your face more like others would get to" with the wand. Then tried to say that she brought me back 10 minutes early. If anything it might have been 5 minutes early, however even if she did bring me back 10 minutes early that is still only 30 minutes and I am paying for 45 minutes. When I told her 30 minutes is not 45 minutes and that their website does not mention this, she just apologized and said she would talk to the owner about changing the verbiage on their website. So needless to say, I will not be back. It took me longer to drive from my house then it did for me to get a facial. This was supposed to be a treat as I don't normally spend money on myself when I have children that I can spend money on. But it was a treat and I wanted to experience this magical hydrofacial and feel pampered. None of that happened. I feel as if I was ripped off completely. Even with the 50% coupon (which of the lady did not know at the time that I had the coupon so that tells me she was fully expecting me to pay full price for a 25 minutes facial). You can see from my photos that I booked an appointment for 530. My card was swiped at 5:59 PM. This was after waiting 3 to 5 minutes for the front desk person to get off the phone and then waiting for her to go get the lady who did my facial so she could come talk to me about how my skin is the reason why she only took 25 minutes. Apparently if you have sensitive skin and you choose a facial that is good for all skin types you still get shorted as they don't make up for the unused minutes you are paying for. Julia was wonderful she listened to my concerns which one big one was I'm allergic to aloe vera and most products do contain it but she was very careful on selecting what was good for me. I Would definitely be back to visit her she didn't try to upsell me on anything but did suggest some thing that I was looking for to remove dark spots on my face. If you don't vibe with your esthetician, they are more than happy to switch it up. I just had an appointment with Erika, a newer esthetician with them. She was so kind and did a great job. She wasn't rushed and she was great if you are like me and don't feel like being chatty during your facial! Highly recommend! I had the best facial of my life at Skin Zen Spa! First Timers, here's the experience for a detox facial: Start by filling in a form with your regular skincare routine / allergies etc. Then your esthetician meets you and brings you back to discuss your form and skincare needs and explains what you're about to experience. You then change into a strapless robe and put all your stuff in a basket and she takes you to your seat where you just lay back and relax. These aren't private rooms but theirs dividers between each person and quiet for the most part (music playing in the background ofcourse). Then begins the most relaxing awesome treatment with her telling you what she's putting on (if you want to know). The best surprise for me was while you wait for some of those masks to soak in you get a FANTASTIC massage - upper back/neck/arms/head. She then does do an extraction and then completes the process with a nice rose water spray and some calming face moisturizer and lip balm. You then go back and change, she gives you water and walks you through some products that they think might be good for your skin without pressuring you to buy anything. I had Abby and she was amazing, especially bc I have very sensitive skin which made me nervous about how it was going to react after the facial. But I have to say my face looks awesome!
