Dr Rodgers is nice but the treatment, follow up and her staff leave alot to be desired. They act as if they couldn't care any less and don't want to be there. They do not call patients back, harrass you for payment as soon as you walk in. They also have a nurse who is not onsite, she doesn't return calls. You have to call the office maager dorectly to get any help at this place! This has been a terrible experience! Do yourself a favor and find another dermatologist. read more

Troyah and Tanya are literally amazing. They both took the time to answer all of my questions during and post appointment. They took their time during my appointment to explain what they were doing, what I would feel, and healing process. Such great bedside manner. My time in the waiting room was very minimal (about 10 minutes) and check in was great. I'm currently 1 week post under eye filler and the process has been going well. My wife and I have been driven from our home (a duplex) by some kind of mite that has invaded our home and skin. These mites are in rashes that flare up every few days after eggs have hatched in our hair, face, inside our mouth, chest, underarms, hands, genital region, legs and feet. Hmm... I'm not an expert, but those rash locations MAY BE A CLUE!! After 3 doctors visits, we were referred to this practice and very excited to see a "specialist". Until this nightmare that has been over 40 days now, we've had no experience with anything like this and can only speculate as to where these mites may have come from. Having a neighbor that lives in the other side of our duplex and shares an open attic with us and thin walls, the variables have narrowed, but we are not drug users and have had noone inside our home besides our weekly cleaning service and new-furniture movers. The day of our appointments, my wife had been in bed for 3 days prior with severe back pain that turned out to be from her gallbladder. Not a coincidence since thousands of these things are in our digestive systems, in our urine and stool. After weeks of us having no real help other than YouTube videos and giving ourselves daily Tea Tree Oil treatments, the PA looked at my wifes hands (that had been attacked by mites she had in her hair and was trying to remove in the shower several days prior) and told her she had "contact dermatitis", nothing to worry about. A devastating blow to my wife to hear those words. She knew then that we were still on our own. After looking at the raging rash on my genitals, they took a biopsy of a rash on my chest that was currently dried up due to the daily Tea Tree Oil. Today, the biopsy results were shared with me by the PA who told me that I was having "an allergic reaction from some kind of bug bite; possibly from working outside. No mites were detected. Good news!". I asked her if my wife was having the same allergic reaction from a bug bite that I may have received....she said Yes. Whaat??? For over 40 days now, we are in what seems like a nightmare movie and we could not have ever imagined that something like this could have invaded our home, our skin, our internal systems and shut down our lives. The specialist didn't listen to our cries for help, noticeably had no experience with whatever mite we have inside our skin and we continue to have to be our own experts relying only on YouTube videos like "what to do when do doctors dont help". We need Ivermectin, but doctors in the united states gatekeep this drug and are inexperienced with bird mites or scabies mites (the possible mites that are causing this nightmare)....So I've been forced to go to a FEED STORE to find Ivermectin designed for horses. OMG... We are professionals, we live healthy lives in a clean home and we wanted to see a specialist in our neighborhood. This practice can not help. They solely relied on biopsy results from a dried rash that left a hole on my shoulder that now I have to clean many times a day and constantly find mite debris inside (black specs). I HAVE RUBBED OFF 5 NEW "MOLES" FROM MY TORSOE. FIVE! PRIOR TO ME RUBBING THEM OFF, WE TOLD THE PA ABOUT THEM, SHE LOOKED FOR 1/2 A SECOND AND SAID THE SOLID BLACK "MOLES" WERE HEALTHY. WHEN I RUB THEM OFF WITH TEA TREE OIL, THEY BREAK UP INTO MANY BLACK SPECS AND I'M LEFT WITH A HOLE THE SIZE OF THE "MOLE". WHAAAT??? MOLES DONT RUB OFF. WHY CANT WE GET HELP...FROM A "SPECIALIST"?? I could go on and on regarding the details of this daily and especially nightly nightmare. This practice was no help, and cost us 7 more days of waiting on biopsy results taken from a dried rash to end up right back where we were. They disregarded our symptoms (due to their lack of experience) and in so many words told us we were lying and had nothing to worry about. "Keep taking the cream we gave you". I'm willing to give our life savings to receive help. Trust me when I say, you are much more of an expert than the "specialist". I'll keep praying and looking for help for my family while living in a hotel. read more

Dr. Rogers seems super sweet but this practice needs some work. My first visit I waited 90 min to see the doctor. Her staff was nice but that wait time is just ridiculous. After my appointment I was scheduled a month out. Ok fine but when I come to my second appointment I find out the doctor doesn't even work that day and my appointment is no where to be found?? I end up seeing the PA who was very kind. I really wanted to like this place as a black women who strictly prefers seeing and supporting black doctors and majority black staff but once I am done with my specific treatment I don't think I will be coming back. read more

If you want to be sent to collections, having your credit score ruined and never getting a call back for an explanation, this is your dream place. First, you begin every appointment with what I like to call, the alone hour from hell. Why is it called that? You begin every appointment waiting by yourself, sometimes one person if your lucky, for an hour in the lobby. Then, you get to talk with the assistants about your problems. And man do they seem like they really care.. not. After speaking with them you see the doctor and by then, your whole life has gone by and you cant even remember why you came here in the first place. My biggest complaint is that I have been going to this doctor since 2014/2015 and continually seeing them for various things, all not fun or luxurious things and I recently got a bill from collections for an outstanding charge from.. drum roll please... 2015. I called the Addison office immediately and tried to figure all this out right away. Well, the item that went to collections was never sent to the right insurance company. So, in all the spare time I magically have, I worked to find the correct insurance information (typical end of year policy changes) and once I did, the office never resubmitted. I have called over and over again but they have ignored me, not called me back and have done NOTHING to help with with this claim. This month my credit score dropped over 100 points due to this office. I have many more boards, providers, and agencies looking into this on my behalf. If they just submitted my claim correctly, this would have never happened but I guess that means the billing department would actually have to do their job. read more

I used to see one of the doctors at this group, but when I wanted to get my records transferred they were very unresponsive. As others have noted, their front desk/reception isn't very welcoming or friendly. I tried for over 2 months to get my records. Called a bunch of times and got transferred to voice mails that were never responded to. I also emailed their office manager and never got a response. Overall the location is convenient enough and scheduling wasn't too much of a hassle. If you're looking more for a cosmetic dermatologist with more of a spa perspective vs. medical treatment, this is probably fine. read more

I hate to give this review because my first couple times I visited were so pleasant. I was seeing a doctor and unfortunately I don't remember her name, but she was excellent! She soon moved to California so I was transferred to another physician who was also sweet. I was there for keloid treatment for the 3rd time. I was told that after 2 times I would pay for the service and the third treatment time I wouldn't pay for the procedure just the visit. During my meeting with her she asked about my acne scars and if I wanted something for it. Of course I said yes, but I told her I am mainly here for my keloid treatment, because I had been slacking on my acne routine so I know its not fair to judge their treatment performance on my negligence. When I went to cash out they charged me for the keloid treatment. I asked the young lady at the front desk why and she let me know because since I am seeing a new doctor that I would basically have to start over and this is considered my first round of keloid treatments. I asked why, it was not my fault my first doctor moved, I loved her and was sad to hear she left. She thought about it for a second and realized what she said made no sense and decided to ask someone in the back office, who told her I had to pay for the treatment because I was given a prescription for acne scarring medicine, so technically at that point it was no longer considered just a keloid visit....although the doctor is the one that asked me if I wanted scarring treatment and I simply said yes, and even reiterated that I was just there for my keloids. The cost of the visit was conveniently the same amount it would be if I was on my second round of keloid treatment. I paid and was polite but I will never schedule an appointment with them again. The money wasn't the issue, I paid with my HSA card so it didn't directly affect me, it was simply how things were done and how I was given 2 different reasons of no fault of my own why I was charged. read more

I read previous reviews that were not so great so I was a little uneasy but I have to have my own experience. It was actually an okay experience. My daughter had a skin tag under her arm that was inflamed. Now the young lady at the front desk was a pretty girl but she did not have a warm demeanor at all. She really should not deal with customers. The first person the patient has to deal with should definitely be more friendly and welcoming and she was not that. But Dr. Rodgers was awesome. She did exactly what was needed for my daughter and I couldn't be happier with that. So I actually had a great experience once we were brought back to the exam room. read more

First, expect to wait 30+ mins after your appointment time. I just had to get some growths frozen off my hand. The first time I went in, Dr. Rodgers didn't fully examine my hand and I actually had to go back when I found another small growth. When I went back to get the smaller growth removed, the PA missed it a just burnt my skin. This resulted in me having to go back a third time. The treatment has worked so far. If I would have to do it again, I would have payed more attention to make sure they got everything the first time. read more

Went to see about having the doctor help me with my Melasma. I have insurance and she is an in-network doctor. The woman at the front office are very unpleasant to begin with and when I got there they told me they were out of network and I paid $150 as a cash pay patient. So a couple weeks later I'm looking at my insurance and they were in network and billed my insurance as well. So they got paid twice for one visit. I called to get my $150 back and they said it would take a couple weeks for the check to be cut. It's been over two weeks and I still haven't gotten my money back. I would never go back to this office. They don't know what they are doing. read more

I'm not sure what to think of this place. Its in a nice area and looks very hoity toity, but I'm not sure what the physicians are doing here. I went in to get a prescription refill for a prescription I have been using on a daily basis for 4 years. I decided to try this place since it was closer to home compared to my previous dermatologist. As we were wrapping things up I asked the assistant physician if I will be getting a year supply. She replied with, "You will be getting a prescription for 4 refills". At this point I am assuming I will be getting 4 x 90 day supply prescription. When I get to the pharmacy the pharmacist fills out a 30 day supply of my prescription. Something didn't seem right so I asked the pharmacist why only a 30 day supply as I was expecting at least a 90 day for this trip. The pharmacist informed me that I only had a prescription for 4 x 30 day supply. At this point I had a feeling the dermatologist office botched up a perfectly simple visit. I called the dermatologist office to complain why I wasn't given a year supply like I have been with all other dermatologist offices for a medication I have been using for years. I was told that due to the office policy it was mandatory for new patients to have a follow-up visit with the doctor within 3-4 months, therefore the initial prescription will only be filled out for 3-4 months. At this time I was pretty furious as I asked the assistant prior to leaving if I will be receiving a year supply. Not only that, if they expected me to be back in 3-4 months, why wasn't a follow-up appointment set up prior to leaving? Personally I felt like they were trying to bring me back in so I can pay another co-pay and they can send the insurance company an invoice with an exorbitant amount for a 10 minute visit where they ask me how things are going. I apologize for the long drawn out story, but this was definitely one place that infuriated me due to mis-communication and lack of professionalism. Will not recommend to any of my friends and colleagues and will also not be returning in the future. read more

I was recommended to see Dr Rodgers by my family doctor. But I will not be going back after my first visit. The front desk experience was fine. I was brought to the exam room within 10 minutes. The doctor's assistant was a young girl and I could barely understand her. No not an accent problem, but her voice was soft and her words were blurred, like a kid talking. I had to keep asking her to repeat her questions. Then I was there sitting in a freezing cold room for 45 minutes. I finally walked out to the nurses' station and asked, but the same girl just stared at me and said there's nothing she could do with the temperature. Sigh. Finally the doctor came in and moved me to a different room. Well after talking to me for 3 minutes she wanted a skin sample, so she told her assistant to get the tools. Then she was gone for another 15 minutes. So I was there for around 1 hour 15 minutes just to see the doctor for 5 minutes!!! The next week I called back to find out my skin test result. Well they put me on hold, and I waited with my headset while I continue working at work, I almost forgot who I called and what it was for since the wait was so long. Finally I heard a noise on the other side and then the line went dead. Apparently somebody realized the phone handset was off the phone, but instead of checking who's waiting, he or she just put the handset back on the phone and hung up on me. I am so upset after these two experiences I am never going back again. Overall the office staff are incompetent, and the office has no time concept. What's the point of making an appointment if I won't be seen for another hour? And was the doctor going off to see the next patient between my time, which made me waited even longer? Well I am not wasting my time so she can maximize her profit. And perhaps she should have spent more money hiring better people or training them first. read more

I had an event for work coming up and a huge cyst formed on my nose a couple of days before the event. I had never received a cortisone shot before, but decided to book an appointment at Skin Specialists of Addison after the receptionist told me the procedure would take less than 30 minutes. I arrived for my appointment 10 minutes early and was informed they were running 15 minutes behind schedule. Well, I ended up waiting 45 minutes and was close to just walking out because I had to get back to work. I was finally called though, and it took about 10 more minutes for the physician assistant, Patrice, to come in. Patrice was great and listened to my concerns. I told her I was worried about a dent forming as a side effect of the shot, but she explained she was going to inject the most diluted concentration and a small amount to prevent this from happening. She said because it's a smaller amount, it may take longer for it to work or it may not work at all, but the pimple went down a significant amount in 24 hours (got it done on Wednesday), and by Saturday, there was just a small mark where the zit had once been. I was shocked by the cost: $112. Patrice said this was the fee for the visit+shot and I may have credit added on my account for my next visit since I was only getting one pimple injected. I am going to see if I can just get this "credit" money back. Overall, the cortisone shot did the trick, but for the time and the money, I'm not sure it was entirely worth it. Patrice was awesome though so that's why I'm giving this business 3 stars. read more

I wouldn't recommend it. Waited 30 minutes after my appointment, I was afraid to miss it cause of an accident. Got in and the receptionist was abrupt. Anyhow, the dermatologist saw me. They explained this stuff that I've heard before. The visit couldn't have lasted maybe 30 minutes. The dermatologist recommended lotions/creams/soaps but didn't write them down or give me any samples. She ran off before I could catch her attention. I won't be coming back here, for the prices they charge and the service they provide. It doesn't make it worth your time or money. I visited the Addison office for a 3 months follow up after initially visiting the Allen office. Arrived 15 minutes early. The front desk was unfriendly and unwelcoming. The assistant took us in after 30 minutes and asked my son some basic questions. She was also very unfriendly. I could hear Dr. Rodgers moving from one room to another and spend about 5 minutes in each room. I finally walked out of the room and addressed the issue with the same sour faced assistant. She started apologizing about the delay and explained Dr. Rogers is running late and pushed me back in the room. Considering Dr. Rodgers was only spending few minutes with the patients, I can only say they are in the habit of over booking the patients with no respect for patient's time. Story short, we were out after hour and 15 minutes for a 5 minutes visit. BTW, if you cancel in less than 24 hours, you'll be charged $50. So their time is important but they couldn't care less about patient's time. read more

I wanted to find a dermatologist close to work so that I could be in/out. Over the phone the staff is nice. The lady at the front is not friendly at all, no hello, please, thank you or smile, she looks angry! As I walked up to the window, first thing she said was "last name", then pretty much ordered me to give her my DL and Ins card...geez. SMH. I had filled out all the paperwork beforehand and was there 10 min early, but still had to wait 15 minutes after my appointment time to be taken to a room. Then I waited another 30 minutes before I saw Dr. Hodges, nice lady/knowledgable, prescribed some meds. Total wait time to see Dr. 45 minutes. I walked back to the window to get my receipt, same lady handed me my rcpt, instructed be to sign, again no thank you or have a nice day, nothing! WTH, was her problem?!? I saw the other yelp reviews after I'd already made an appointment for a skin cancer screening and I was a little apprehensive. I had the first appointment of the day today and it was great. I waited a little for the appointment to start but not anymore than at any other doctor. The office is nice the staff members that assisted me were extremely friendly and courteous. Dr. Rodgers was very patient, kind, and reassuring. She didn't rush through the review and made sure to fully answer all my questions and address my fears and concerns. The office is full of advertisements for more cosmetic services they offer so I was a little worried they would try to sell me cosmetic services but there was no mention of anything like that. I'm pleased with the service received from Dr. Rodgers and her staff. I've been client for 2 years and have always received great service from all of the staff. I recently had Dysport and Restalyne administered by Dr. Rodgers. I was kind of nervous since this was my first time with this type of service. She put me at ease right away and we talked and laughed during the procedure. She's very professional and truly cares about her patients. I left feeling confident. Do not consider Skin Specialists for Cool Sculpting! I had the cool sculpting procedure done on 6 areas ($$$) and am VERY dissatisfied with the results. I was told I was an ideal candidate and ok with the 20% results they stated during the consultation. I did not see ANY results and was told unfortunately I'm one of the very few (less than 5%) that they consider "unresponsive". The only consideration they offered was to have one area redone at cost. Why would I spend additional money on a procedure that they advised would not work on me? I do not blame the technician as I know she discussed my case with the doctor on my behalf. If you are considering cool sculpting DO NOT spend the money here. Also I agree with the other reviews about the girls working the front desk. Very unprofessional. read more
