Review (including her response) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dr. Kingston and her office staff are consistently nice and attentive, always following up and returning calls promptly. I initially visited her to have boils removed from my skin, and aside from one instance where the stitching on the back of my neck burst, I healed well from each procedure. I returned after a bike accident left my lip healing unevenly, expecting sutures as she had done previously. However, during her visit with me (which lasted a few minutes) she informed me that she wouldn't suture my lip when requested because she's not the type of doctor that would do that. Instead, she injected me with a steroid to aid healing. I wish she had spent more time and reviewed the potential side effects, particularly the noticeable discoloration it would cause on my face. When I called about the discoloration, I was told to email a photo for her review. She recommended a prescription to address the discoloration, explaining that this sometimes occurs. Otherwise, I was informed that it could take months for the color to return. I wish I had been advised about this potential outcome before receiving the injection. Transparency is essential when consulting a professional, as full disclosure is necessary for informed decision-making. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dr. Kinston's Response: You came in to see us just over 2 months ago to help with your lip scar, which in your photo has healed well. a few weeks after that- you called our office to notify us of the hypopigmentation and we prescribed a cream to use with instructions to return to our Office in person to take a look which you did not. I do expect the pigmentation to improve over the next few weeks, but it would have been better for you to come in to see us as we asked you to do. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ UPDATE (to Dr. Kingston's Reply) I didn't expect blatant dishonest; so, I will change the 2 stars to 1, since I can't select 0 or -5. To help Dr. Kingston's recall, I've checked my records. My initial appointment was on 6/26/24, and I called and followed up with an email about the issue on 8/12/24, which also indicates where the scar was (photo attached), which is also the date the cream was prescribed, with no follow up appointment. My initial scar was NEVER visible to someone looking at my face; so, I'm not sure what she's claiming looks like it healed. To her credit, it's possible that she's not being blatantly dishonest, but just never took note or was engaged enough to remember where the original scar on my lip actually was. Also, when you gave instructions for me to "come in": 1. Did we make an "appointment"? 2. If so, was I a no-show? 3. At what point between the email exchange (attached) and the prescription for a new cream (the same day)--to fix the discoloration the injection caused--did you notice that I no showed for the appointment you instructed me to "come in" for? 4. Is it standard for a doctor to prescribe medicine to a patient who refused to "come in" for an issue, as you instruct them to? There was never a suggestion or request for me to "come in." If so, I would have explicitly declined the offer. She does expect the hypopigmentation to heal "over the next few weeks." From when, 8/12/24??? It's still on my face as of 9/23/24. Nonetheless, I hope she's correct because it's extremely noticeable, especially in virtual meetings. Dr. Kingston is still a 5 year physician after all these years. I see her at least twice a year no matter where I live...Dallas, Philly, Dallas again, and now Tulsa. I have never met a more thorough dermatologist and trust my care to her; she's worth the trip. In 2021, I needed surgery to remove a spot/deep tissue that was diagnosed as melanoma and she referred me to an excellent surgeon who also had the best bedside manners. I have never had a negative experience in Dr. Kingston's office and am always treated with respect even though my visits are always for skin screenings versus cosmetic procedures. This was the best visit I have had in years since my melanoma doctor passed away. He was very famous. Director of the John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica Cali. Yes he was JW's doctor. I was President of the American Cancer Society for five years in Alaska so I know a lot about melanoma. She was on it. I was a tad scrambled as I was late every where that day. She is so knowledgeable and so is her nurse. She also has patches to detect melanoma without a biopsy. Brilliant. I was at Stanford a few months back and have been to Mayo. They are still chopping patients up. Even for basil cell carcinoma. Dr Kingston knows her stuff. Very pleasant and compassionate. The office is beautiful. This is my dermatologist forever! I would give 10 stars if I could. Dr. Kingston and her staff go above and beyond for patients. I had a very bad infection and after seeing me, she insisted that I needed to go to the hospital. Thank goodness I did. She personally texted me to check in during my hospital stay (even while she was out of the country on holiday vacation). After hospital discharge, her office squeezed me in for visits when needed and one of the nurses even came into the office on multiple days while the office was closed and while she was off work to monitor my situation and help with gauze changes. I always recommended them to friends before, but after this experience, I cannot speak more highly. They truly care about their patients and work (even on vacation and days off!) to make sure you are taken care of in the best way. read more

I wish I could give Dr. Kingston more than 5 stars, 10 stars, as many as possible because she has completely changed my life. And I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Your skin really does alter your confidence and mood!! I scheduled an appt on ZocDoc with her, with zero idea what to really expect as I felt like my acne situation was helpless. I always had multiple GIANT cystic acne bumps sitting deep under my skin yet visible, small little bumps all over, medium size bumps all over my cheeks and forehead. I really don't even know how to make this sound as bad as it felt, but it was BAD. To the point I wouldn't want to leave the house, or I'd be embarrassed to look people in the eye with worry they were looking at my acne! It's truly one of the hardest things we have to deal with as there is never going to be enough makeup to cover bad skin. Dr. Kingston's appointments are quick, yet effective. She can look at you and within 5 seconds and already know what your skin concerns are. (She still asks though, don't worry) You have a quick and painless discussion, then she starts formulating a sheet for you giving you your new daily skin routine. She suggests a couple medications, and asks what you may be interested in achieving and by the end of it she creates a day and night system that WORKS. It took me about 2-3 months to first notice a difference, and from that point forward I have seriously not had one pimple since. My skin is the best it has ever been, to the point where if I get the tiniest, little pimple I wonder if I'm ok haha. Regardless, if you struggle with acne as I did - SEE DR. KINGSTON. My whole family of four has seen Dr. Kingston. While approachable, concerns rose after one of my daughters was prescribe a topical that contained an allergen in her history, and caused a reaction. Her calls to the office were not handled promptly or professionally. Another prescription had a side effect of vertigo. When my daughter mentioned she was predisposed to low blood pressure and fainting, she was told to still try it. It resulted in a bad case of vertigo. Home of the $600 mole removal In the beginning I was told that they did not like dealing with my health insurance company (Altura) so I would have to self pay. I assumed I would get a self pay discount of some sort, but was instead stuck with a $330 bill for the 10 minutes of work needed to remove a mole. Then I find out through a friend that I will most likely receive another bill from whoever they sent the mole off to. I was never informed of this by the Doctor and when I confronted Mercedes about the additional $250 bill I just received from some unknown lab, she told me they don't have to tell me. Completely rude and unprofessional. I told her I would like to speak with the office manager, she told me she would have her call me, it never happened. Needless to say, I won't be back. As I have previously stated, I never received a check in the mail. Perhaps the check was stolen and cashed? You claimed that Bank of America issued a check, but I am customer of Bank of America, contacted them, and the check never showed up in ANY of my transactions. You can make all the accusations and excuses you want but it almost took a lawsuit to get the refund you owed me since you a Preferred Provider and wanted to keep the money you overbilled. The whole appointment was rushed, she didn't listen to my desires, and prescribed me a bunch of pills (for acne) that later my primary care doc said I shouldn't be taking with some of my other prescriptions. Is it weird to be obsessed with a dermatologist office? If so, whatever. I went on Friday and have already recommended this place to more than six friends. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ As someone who has spent her fair share (and by fair share, I mean 50+) of doctors in her lifetime from autoimmune issues, this is BY FAR the best doctor's office I've ever been to. 1. Everyone is SO NICE and loves what they do. When I walked in, the receptionist was so kind, genuine, and even said "welcome to our practice!" I'm sorry, what?! That never happens. Great start. 2. Wait time = good. I think I maybe waited 5-10 minutes, and then a nurse took me back. 3. I was just going in for an annual skin screening / had issues with my lips, and the first question they asked if I had ever used EOS lip balm. (Why yes!) They knew immediately the issue (even the nurse already knew just what to do!) and gave me two samples to help. 4. During the screening, both Dr. Kingston and the nurse were SO nice and talk to you about life. They are so friendly and make you feel super comfortable. They were straightforward, don't recommend things you don't need, but also really kind about it. (Plus: the gowns for the screening are pink and polka-dotted!) Overall, A+++++++. read more

Dr. Kingston seemed awesome and informative. I would've liked to see more before and after photos of procedures since I'm a first timer and I want to be extra careful with my face. I'm very budget conscious and made sure to confirm ahead of time that this office accepted my insurance. I budgeted for the copay in advance. After meeting Dr. Kingston I was hit with a $100 office visit fee from the receptionist since I asked questions about fillers ...that was considered a consultation. She went from nice to kind of rude pretty quickly when I questioned this. So I'm wondering...are they charging my insurance company AND trying to charge me $100 on the spot? Really put a huge damper on an otherwise positive experience. Not to mention it was flat out embarrassing. But, someone went ahead and told her my $50 copay would be fine. Went to Dr. Kingston for help with acne after I was referred and instead I got a 5 minute long appointment (40 min late to begin with) and instantly got told 5 prescriptions I need to take. I have small chin break outs so I was hoping to get an idea of the why behind it and steps to prevent it. I'm sure what she gave me will work, but I'm not a huge fan of taking medication to "solve" problems. I went to Dr. Kingston for a consult on Sculptra treatment back in August and began a 3-step treatment process a few days later. The treatments are spread out at 2 month intervals. After 4 months and 2 treatments, the results are incredible! I truly believe that in 2-3 more months after my third treatment in the process, I will have completely refilled the hollow areas under my eyes and cheeks that had aged me so badly. First off I just want to say Dr. Kingston is a wonderful person! I have been struggling with a cyst on my nose since Christmas (6 months) and finally decided to do something about it today. The representative at the front gave me an estimate (no other offices would give me any info other than the cost of the consultation) so I really appreciated that! They were able to schedule me for a same day appointment, then when I arrived I realized I completely forgot my wallet and thought i wouldn't be able to be seen, but Dr. Kingston was nice enough to work with me on it. This is my first Yelp review EVER, that's how good Dr. Kingston is. I was a new patient and have suffered from chronic acne for over a decade. I printed the "New patient form" and filled it out before I arrived. I wasn't in the waiting room for more than 5 minutes. It's the most beautiful doctors office I've ever seen, all windows, clean, and very easy parking. She came in quickly and immediately questioned me about my problems. Then she did a thorough teaching session about my treatment plan, making sure I didn't have any questions before I left. And who said she doesn't look like the pictures on Yelp? WHAT?! She's even more beautiful in person, even though that shouldn't make a difference. The desk lady was incredibly nice, the nurse was incredibly nice, and obviously so was the dr. The entire appointment took less than 30 minutes in and out. I was so nervous to come to the doctor about my skin, thinking she would tell me she knew more about my condition than I did. Quoted me one price, I paid in full after the procedure, then received a bill in the mail saying I still owed 50%, making the total price nearly double what I was quoted. I called because I thought there was a mistake, and the lady on the phone completely disregarded my complaints. No one should be allowed to double the price of a service after the fact. She lady on the phone acted like I should have known about the additional "fees" but I was never told there would be any costs outside of the price that I was quoted. I found Dr. Kingston on yelp and decided to finally do something about my skin and made an appointment. Making the appointment was super easy, the office is beautiful and the receptionist was really friendly and helpful when I had some issues with my insurance card. The appointment itself was very quick and easy -- I was in and out in like 20 minutes. I was skeptical that her treatment plan would be effective because it was so simple (an $8/month prescription). However I stuck with it and here I am a few months later. I had NO idea my skin could be this perfect. When removing a mole, I couldn't stop bleeding. She went to sear the cut and burned half of my eyebrow off. I only went to them because they were an in network doctor approved by my insurance. I paid my deductible and still received a bill, which I shouldn't have per my plan. After talking with the lady at the front desk, she told me to call my insurance. When I suggested that I didn't have this problem the last time and asked her to take care of it. She told me it's only a courtesy that they file insurance for patients. After researching with my insurance, I found out there were two separate bills sent to them. One was in network and the other was a company that was out of network. I had no say so over the procedure or test they outsourced to and my insurance says they don't have the right to chose any outsourcing that doesn't get bikes thru their office. When I confronted her she had no interest in helping me one way or the other. The girl at the front desk was actually laughing at me when I suggested they were in the wrong here. I paid he bill but I would never recommend this dermatologist to any one of my friends. I will never go back. Very shady billing practices and I will find someone that willingly files my insurance. I'll also find someone to watch apologize for burning my eyebrow off when I chose not to pursue legal procedures. At the very least they could've forgiven the small bill that they sent me outside of what my insurance paid, which in-network they would've paid 100%. read more

Dr. Kingston is awesome - I had a mole removed off the bridge of my nose that had a appeared several years ago and was bothering me, there was minimal scaring and appears only as a freckle now, which will lighten with bleaching creams - also had a full body mole check and she removed 3 small suspicious moles (probably due to tanning beds in the late 90's : ( - I highly recommend Dr. Kingston and her staff, they're great. read more

I arrived 15 mins early for my appointment and finished all the paper work online on zocdoc. Mercedes was very professional and courteous. I was hoping to spend at least 30 mins with Dr. Kingston but I was in and out within 10 mins. MA asked me few questions and explained me what she thinks will help me and she spoke to Dr Kingston before Dr. came in and Dr Kingston analyzed the issue and told almost the same treatment. They explained me the treatment plan. I didn't give 5 stars yet but once I start the treatment, I will update my review accordingly. Overall experience was great. Everyone was to the point, explained it very well. I can't wait to see the results. I follow doctors instructions religiously lol I didn't know whether I will be able to find the parking but they have garage attached to their building which made my life easy. I've been to three different dermatologists in Dallas and Dr. Kingston is by far the most thorough, competent, kind, and empathetic. She didn't make the appointment feel rushed and answered all of my questions. I had a growth that doctors had ignored for decades, and she finally decided to get to the bottom of it.
