I've had the opportunity to be cared for by Tyson Handsaker, Carly Gale, Ryan Meis, and the other physical therapists and they have given unbelievable care for me the past couple months. One quality the whole clinic staff has is their intentionality to be not only a care provider but a friend. They make rehab fun, even when it can be difficult. They are very empathetic and are wanting my success to get back to normal activities, but also seek value with my life by wanting to know what consists of my day and week. They start and finish me in a timely manner and throughout my weeks I can always see improvement within my injuries. Overall, I'm super glad I'm being put in great care here!

It was not his primary however he are an hour away from home and not able to get in until the end of the month and he needs care now. He gets a call a few hours from Crystal giving him no information. He calls back and no one is able to get ahold oh her. 5 minutes later he gets a call back saying the physician he signed up for is "closed" and not accepting new patients, but are willing to accept him this one time. He then gets a call not even 5 minutes later saying his appointment was canceled. This was so unprofessional from everyone involved. Why would you allow sign ups online if you aren't accepting patients? How is no one able to get ahold of anyone in this office? We have never had a good experience at any McFarland clinic or the ER. Would never recommend anyone ever going to this dumb

After calling to make an appointment she( receptionist) took my information so she would be able to retrieve my insurance info and then gave me a time to come. VISIT After arriving I was told that they couldn't retrieve it as they don't have any access a database( which is the unskilled part and misleading part, why would she ask my info in the first place). Anyway To get it I tried calling the insurance people but no luck. After 25 minutes when I told her to cancel my appointment as I didn't have insurance info she told me to pay upfront the entire consultation fees and get it reimbursed later. I agreed. CONSULTATION After the nurse did my routine checkup and left, there is this woman ( looked pretty experienced in her 50's ) came with a professional demeanor. Without wasting anytime I told her what my disease could be and she stepped back as if she could become a victim of my contagious state ( which I think was quite unprofessional and uninformed of her as the disease I had was contagious only in few cases). She just came near to check me and then kept her distance for the rest of 2 minutes of the consultation. During that time she made some assumptions which were false and Wrote a one day prescription( I didn't know that it was just for one day until I went to Walgreens to pick it up). She even gave me some partial accurate information about the disease keeping in mind that she seemed to have more that 25 years of experience under her belt. The whole thing went for 3 minutes while she gave me every "symptom" that she wanted to leave the room like step toward the door, body facing the door, eager to finish the conversation etc. I was skeptical about going to this place as there were no yelp reviews but since there are not many clinics available in Ames so it feels like that have some monopoly in the area. I want to add some info to this review. After two months of my appointment, I got a call from some lady in insurance department of the clinic saying that the amount they charged me was not $77 but $177 and they need my insurance information to get the money. She even told me that some adjustments have been made and they have given me a discount of 34 dollars.

And, in that time, we have seen many, starting with pediatrics. As a patient you want to be prepared with all relevant sympstoms, medicines you take etc. They are a very busy clinic and unfortunately, in most cases don't have time to just visit which is the way it is in today's hectic schedule. All of us are human and sometimes we have to look for a primary care physician that fits our temperaments.
