I have to agree with every 1 star review. I can't believe I got stuck with these people. Our door failed one a Saturday, a 40+ year old cable snapped on one side of a double roll up door. Tracks were slightly bent. So replacing two cable (doesn't make sense to do just one). Replacing some bent track on one side. $400. To be fair it was a Sunday. So maybe that was fair, they were here for about two hours, maybe a bit more. Here's where it gets ugly. They were very insistent we replace the springs. Springs that were replaced less than three years ago. They did their best to frighten us about the dangers. The more they tried that approach the more resistant I became, because now I'm smelling a rat. They tired a trick when they were done to show me that the springs could no longer allow the door to close because they were so weak. OK boys were done here now. I said we'd open and close it manually until we could get the original company that installed the springs to come out. Suddenly they they offered to tighten the springs a bit more. Muttering something about seven turns is all that's allowed? A few more cranks on the springs and Ta-DA! it's working just fine. For the record the Spring replacement we had done cost us $250. These 'gentleman' wanted anywhere from $650 on up, depending on the length of the 'warranty' It seems they do not have a contractors license. There is no notation on the invoice of one, there are no markings on the truck. But when I started to get a bad feeling about these guys I snapped a picture of the trucks license plate. Final note they seem to operate under different names. The phone number we originally called was under "Honest 1" The shirts they were wearing said, "Garage Door service & Repair" as does the invoice. They had me make out the check to "B" Garage Door. They also really pushed me to pay via "Zelle" which itself is not advisable according to some consumer advocates. As a final insult they left a mess, to clean up. I've tried to give them a chance to fix their mistake but they had no interest in even responding. They were called out by my grandmother to work in garage door because it was stalling in between opening and closing, an employee by the name of Ben was dispatched to do the work he was here for 20 min said it was fixed charged $350 and left, only to have the same problem occur hours later. In 2022 our garage door would not go up or down. We had to manually open and close it. The original door guys were out of town and I was desperate. I called Garage Door 747-254-0635 (I put the number because they seem to have multiple names). The guy came out and said it was the motor and springs giving out. I approved the replacement (I was over charged but, I was billing to the estate). Nice job and all is good. Fast forward to 2024, the door will open but won't close. The reading on my app (the first guy installed a wifi unit) says the sensor is bad. UGH!!! I call Garage Door again. The new tech comes and looks at the door and says your spring is broken. WTF??? I say it just was replaced in 2022 and covered by warranty. He says his company did not install this and I say you a lie proceeding to show him the receipt. He takes a picture, leaves to talk to someone on his phone. Two minutes later he comes back and says the rollers are straining the springs and needs replacing. He proceeds to tell me he will discount the amount for 10 rollers at $390 plus service charge of $150 (he gave me the icks). While he's talking I reach out to the original service company and the owner says $95 service charge and if it is the rollers, they're about $5 a piece. I told the scammer guy I was good and he should leave my home. He proceeds to tell me he is the best in the business and no one is as good as him. BYE FLEECER!!! 24 hours later, Monrovia Garage doors comes out and confirms your sensors are bad. The rollers are fine and in fact 5 look to have already been replaced and look just fine. The only thing he did see was a cracked bracket that will be replaced when the part comes in. $95 for labor, $50 for parts door opens and closes like a dream. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!! read more

I work for a property management company and called to get an estimate for this company in March 2024. In May 2024 the company installed a new garage motor, wireless opener and garage door for $2300. Literally, couple of months later the door stopped working. Left completely open. The remotes and wireless would not work to close door. I called for service and the technician came out in November and stated the unit needed a reset. I told him to reset it. He called owner and they told him it would be $115. I said $115 to reset something you all just installed. So I had to request funds from company to pay as this new charge was not expected. In February when the tech came they informed me that the garage motor was out and it was not a reset issue. I called and asked to speak with owner. He was very rude, over talking, not helpful and suggested that I call Liftmaster for the problem. Why would I call Liftmaster if your company purchased this and installed it here? He was clearly being obnoxious and disrespectful. In theory without any purchasing info like a receipt, date, item numer etc for warranty info that owner wouldn't provide. I then suggested he call Liftmaster and listed why and he was even more furious because it would be logical and accurate if you were really a legit company and businessman to solve issue. With or without warranty an alleged brand new garage motor should not go out twice in under six months. They could have replaced in November as it was clearly out and he just said it needed resetting. After many minutes of very unprofessional tone and chaotic exchanges I told owner he should get exchange from Liftmaster and or honor work that was paid for and replace/exchange out this motor. He said he would charge for labor for $450. Why are you charging labor for same item that labor has been paid for. This should be a courtesy. The total for a single garage door and motor would now be $2750. If I had paid for the fake reset in November for $115. The total would be $2865. This company is fraudulent, don't honor a warranty whether you have one or not, charge for either damaged, faulty, not new, possibly used etc and do not replace and/or cover it. Especially when it is caught and proven and called to attention. Please, don't use this company. Please, continue to report this company. Please, sue this company. It is unfortunate how many solutions are capable of being solved yet how prevalent crooked, shady, unprofessional and rude alot of businesses are that actually cause problems for customers that are trying to give them business and or use their services to stay in business. My mom almost got scammed from these people today. They go by a different name now it is called Garage Door service and Repair and their supposed address is 5812 Edinger Ave, Huntington Beach, CA. We called and scheduled a free quote to replace my garage door entirely with everything new including the tracks, springs , and the whole combo deal. We were greeted by this man named "Daniel" and he quoted us $1300 for the standard door complete deal. We were pretty happy with the price and we asked for a written quote and would call later to schedule the installation. He told us that we needed to put down a $400 dollar deposit. And we agreed. Before we scheduled the installation we called to ask for a formal contract to be drawn up and they agreed, but then they started changing the prices which was my first red flag. Then I asked them for their license number in which they did not provide. 2nd red flag. And then they told me they can only do the deposit through cash or Zelle (no major debit,credit cards or checks) that was my final red flag. I looked them up and they had a generic website made (http://garagerepairpro.buildingsit.com). And I decided to type In The number in google and this showed up. I'm so happy I caught this before we gave them any money. I called "Daniel" and told him I will be cancelling my order and he blew up on me, he started yelling that I need to Zelle him for the gas he wasted and the time he came out to diagnose. Rude, terrible service!!! Tried to charge $250 for "adjusting the sensor" and when my mom pushed back he "only" charged her $125 for about 15 minutes of work. When I got home the garage still wouldn't stay closed. Offered to change out the sensor for the remaining $125. When I started questioning things (I had looked up troubleshooting for the error we were getting) he kept cutting me off and was being extremely rude and kept raising his voice. Invoice under Garage Door Repair and installation, Check made out to Skill Garage Door and Gate. Two other local companies said job S/B around $350. So the bid ( the hook ) was right , after job finished the rip off occurs. To avoid confrontation wrote check and as soon as he left placed a stop pay. Completely agree with the previous two one-star reviews. All the other reviews are fake. Unlicenced contractors: Yonatan Hasan and his friend Adam. They are crooks and they are rude. It's a very long story but briefly: Yonatan was refusing to tell me his actual name (was giving me fake names) but I figured it out. I originally asked for a lubrication of a working garage door and a replacement of a lost remote. They convinced me that the whole thing was installed incorrectly (has been working fine until recently) and that the "broken" springs had to be replaced. They asked $200 for each spring ($30 on Amazon) and $150 for a remote ($15 on Amazon), $250 for the work. They also added a state tax. They requested to be paid by Zelle and I naively agreed. They moved the axle where it was attached to the wall originally and reattached it to a new place which turned out to be the drywall (!!!) so that the next day I discovered that the axle came out and ruined the part of the wall where it was attached. They came next day to fix the damage. Yonatan was extremely rude and aggressive. He kept telling me that he came "to help me". They left without even fixing the damaged drywall. read more

The motor was old and probably needed replacing but this guy convinced me that I needed two new springs for my double door and one for the single. When I asked the cost he just mumbled, but I had him go ahead. He finished and the bill was $3000! I had no choice but to pay it. A few days later the door was still acting up so I called a local company. Bottom line, the springs he installed were too heavy duty for my door, so the door was out of balance.
