A lack of product knowledge coupled with failure of management to acknowledge the problem let alone rectify it

Snowboard still has a lot of scratches even though Ski Barn told me these would be filled. I called Ski Barn prior to visiting to get an idea of options and prices for fixing the scratches on my snowboard. I was told that it depended on how bad the scratches were but the services would range from $25 to $70 The next day I visited Ski Barn and was told the scratches would need P-Tex and would be $75 to fill. It was annoying that it was more than I was told, but I was fine with this si ce I know I snowboarded on an area that was rocky last season. I picked my snowboard up a couple weeks later. It still had scratches. It was not worth their recommended service for the employees to not fill in the scratches. Would not recommend going to this Ski Barn. read more

We were very disappointed. We have outdoor furniture from them for many years. 2 years ago we bought new cushions. They have not held up. They are moldy and washing them doesnt help. They are not in an uncovered area. They are on a covered porch. They told us to wash them and nothing helped. They said, so sorry but there is nothing we can do. That is not acceptable! read more

Horrible business, my son who is in the military and based in Nevada, came home for the holidays and went to try on boots to order on line with ski barn and have them shipped to his home. The two sales man were extremely rude and told him to leave because they didn't have time for that. I will never buy anything from this location or any ski barn. read more

To be honest there isn't a good ski shop in Monmouth county, but this is bottom tier. I got fitted for ski boots and they were the most uncomfortable boots I've ever worn. A few years later in Colorado I got refitted for boots at a SIZE AND A HALF smaller, a mistake that cost me 500 dollars to fix. Not only that but a week to wax a pair of skis? And the price. I recommend waiting to shop until you reach your ski destination. read more

Been coming here for years to rent skis for my son. Have had a re-occurring deposit for at least 5 years. For the last two years they put him in the same size. Today I called to see the availability on a slightly larger size and the guy answering the phone says " just come in, I cant through the entire rack". Place is 1/2 hour from my house. Rented skis/boards for my four kids. First day on the mountain (back in Dec) my daughter puts her foot in the ski only to find out the bindings were set up for the wrong boots. She and I had to leave the rest of the family to ski/board, and go find a ski shop to fix the problem. The guy at the shop said besides the obvious mistake, the skis and bindings were for someone much smaller than my 5'1"/W8 foot, 12-year-old. They put her in kids skis when she definitely should be in adult skis. I assume they just gave her whatever was left rather than telling us we should look elsewhere, which would've been the right thing to do. Next year we will either go much earlier in the year when there's more stock, or look elsewhere. read more

Jeff at Ski Barn is a fantastic ski Boot expert. I'm a long time skier and he nailed it with the first pair of boots i tried on. He took my measurements and asked me a few questions about my ability. He did bring out a couple other options but after that first pair, I was sold. Now let's just pray for snow and the lifts run this year read more

I was looking this past Saturday for skies for my husband. He is a snowboarder and he wanted to look for skies. I told the man (40s w/ dk brown hair) that we didn't want to spend a lot. He made a nasty remark and told me I need to go shopping. He was arrogant to say the least. I went to Brave New World and was treated like always great! Not only was their customer service a 10 their prices we're better. I have been going to them over 18 years and now I remember why. We ending up bringing our skis back the same day. Everything about my experience was excellent! My family and I are not easy to please, and we came to Ski Barn after being disappointed by other similar stores. The staff was incredibly helpful and efficient despite the store being busy. Tom helped us get the right bindings and poles for our skis. He was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about the products and technician services we needed. I needed wide ski boots capable of being customized to accommodate my pronated ankle. I went to the Ski Barn and they set me up with the Nordica Cruise 120 and Chris customized it to accommodate my ankle and told me to come back I if it needed additional modification. I used the boots and they were a significant improvement, but I went back for a little additional relief and Tom took care of it. The bottom line is that the knowledge, skills and customer service at the Ski Barn in Shrewsbury is excellent and I am sold on them as a customer. read more

Amazing displays, and truly helpful sales associates. After moving from their previous location in Eatontown, ski barn has received an overhaul in terms of the store itself, and they've also seemed to completely revitalized the staff. Each worker seems to care about their position, and, more importantly, the customer. When dealing with a shop serviceman, they recommended the perfect tune-up for my worn skiis, and the clothing sales woman worked to fit my entire party with stylish and functional outfits. The products were well priced, and a great variety of specialty brands were available. But, the most important aspect of ski barn, is that they seem to always go above and beyond, in order to cater to their customer base. I was extremely satisfied with my winter visit, and plan to purchase my next set of outdoor furniture from them as well. read more
