We were sightseeing in Stockholm, and in early March at least, it is still very cold, snowy and blustery - just like home. We needed a respite from the bitter wind and happened to be just right next to this cute place (fyi, for us Americans, the actual business is called "Skeppsbro Bageri). It's right on the water and is a lovely sunny spot with lots of natural light. The ladies behind the counter didn't speak super great English but we got by with some pointing and in the end sat down to a lovely little snack and a coffee. We got an open-faced salmon sandwich that was covered in shaved fennel (so yummy if you like such things). We got a pain au chocolate (chocolate croissant), which was good. And I got this incredible cinnamon roll type pastry that was like a traditional cinnamon roll but with like a hard crunchy honey-ey type outside. It was so yummy. My husband went and got one for himself lol. Anyway, service was great, food was yummy, coffee was good. It was a lovely place to stop. read more
