we has been to another vet in the area with our poorly cat who did not seem to be responding too…read morewell, we then took him to Wittrick Vets. We thought our cat was going to die he was thin, weak, not eating or going to the toilet, within two weeks he was much better and now a year later he is as fit as ever. Very good vet, very good prices too. Very nice people. Would recommend to anyone.

The staff usually come out from a back room and are happy to answer your questions. I feel that every time I have had to leave my pets with them, they have been well cared for. The treatments are quite expensive in my opinion, but I have never been to any others so I have no other figures to compare with. Something I didn't like was that there is no separate waiting area for the different animals. When I have waited with my cat (which is stressful enough for her) we have had to wait with dogs which upset both my cat and the dogs. As this is a small practice I don't think that they would be able to accommodate a split waiting area.

They spend time thoroughly examining the animals and talking to them and calming them. The vet always explain to my young children what they are doing and why. A great vets with great care.

Our dog and our 3 cats are all registered with this fantastic veterinary surgery. Even though we've…read moremoved around the region, we still keep them here as the benefits far outweigh the travelling. Both the Surgeons and Nurses are wonderful and even our little scared-y cat relaxes whenever she's around them. They offer brilliant advise both over the phone and in person, are never late for appointments and are open late so you don't necessarily have to take time off work to visit. The surgery is clean and hygenic so there's no worry of infection being caused by the surroundings. The prices are about standard of vets that I have visited and we have not been charged for follow-up appointments following our cats being neutered earlier in the year.

On behalf of my family we would like to thank you for the professional care provided by you. As bills mounted up it was a pleasant surprise to get a revised bill which was less than we had anticipated. The lovely card with her paw prints on made us all cry. It was a lovely touch and we thank you all.
My 8 month old puppy died alone, in a cage at this practice…read more After ringing the emergency, out of hours vet 3 times he finally agreed to come out to the surgery to see our puppy at approximately 1.30 in the morning. After various tests (heart beat, temperature etc) we were told the puppy would have to stay in overnight in what (I thought at the time) was their capable hands. Steven took blood tests etc then at 4am left him alone (I presume on a drip) in a cage. When the nurse came in the following morning Frank had passed away and was lying in blood from his mouth and bottom. He must have wondered why we abandoned him to suffer alone and ultimately to die alone. Graham has tried to make amends for Frank's treatment by paying for his cremation, sending flowers and covering the insurance excess but nothing will bring my puppy back or take away my grief or guilt that I left him there to die alone. I would never recommend this veterinary practice to anybody and 1 star is an extravagant gesture.

Clifton Lodge Vets
Women need to be very careful when attending the Sedgefield practice alone! I had to take my Mams…read moredog here while dog sitting as I couldn't get an appointment at her usual vet. When I arrived I fully explained her medical history and usual successful treatment which the vet quickly dismissed and ignored. He administered additional treatment without consulting me first. When I rang my mam to pay over the phone she asked why additional treatment had been required. At this point the vet became very hostile and aggressive on the phone and refused to speak to my mam anymore. After payment his behaviour towards me escalated he started shouting that he wouldn't have his skills questioned by anyone, I calmly explained this wasn't the case and he started shouting louder while gesturing and lunging towards me. At this point I left quickly as I feared for my own safety. After both myself and my mam made a formal complaint to clifton lodge about his behaviour l have not received an apology or any sort of response and my mam got a letter from them stating we should have informed them if cost was an issue which we had both already stated was not the issue, they also said 'sorry if you felt the vet was rude'. So once again clifton lodge the issue was not cost and your vet was not rude he was aggressive and I genuinely believe that he could be dangerous. Women should never feel that they are not safe to go somewhere alone and I would advise if any Women have to attend your practice they take someone with them if they are unable to go elsewhere. All this because someone simply asked about the treatment that been given to THIER dog! I can't imagine what he could potentially do to a woman who had actually 'questioned his skills'.
