We visited Skara Taverna during LI restaurant week in spring of 2026. The appearance of the restaurant was modern contemporary. It felt very welcoming and warm. For my three course meal I got the patzarosalta (beet salad), lavraki (sea bass) and the ekmek kataifi. The beet salad was a great start. It combined well with the pearled couscous and feta. The sea bass filet was seasoned well with a light lemon caper sauce to give a delicate flavor. Our dessert was I was expecting it to be more of a shredded dough than layered since I have known Kataifi to be as such. Although the appearance was not what I was expecting, I still enjoyed it. Overall had a great meal and the service was good.

Amazing place. Great food and drinks. You feel like you are in Greece. Appetizers are delicious. Service is great.

Finally -- a Fancy Greek Spot in Williston Park! Skara is exactly what Williston Park has been missing -- an elevated, modern Greek restaurant that still feels warm, welcoming, and perfect for both family dinners and date nights. The space is stylish, the service is attentive, and the food delivers across the board. We started with the warm bread and a small dish of olives, pepperoncini, and olive oil -- simple but fresh. The spread platter was one of the best I've had: creamy tzatziki, smoky eggplant dip, tangy hummus, spicy feta, taramosalata, and more. Every spread was flavorful and balanced, and the eggplant dip was a standout -- finally a place that gets it just right. Appetizers were excellent: * Crispy zucchini & eggplant tower -- thin, crunchy slices stacked high with a cool yogurt dip. * Fried calamari -- tender and lightly crisped. * Grilled skewers -- juicy, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked. For mains, the branzino was outstanding -- tender, buttery, and beautifully deboned with a bright lemon-caper sauce. The pork chop was unexpectedly incredible: thick-cut, unbelievably juicy, and full of flavor. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection -- tender, seasoned well, and grilled with that classic Greek herb-and-lemon finish. Drinks were another highlight -- creative, elegant, and balanced, definitely cocktail-program level. Dessert sealed the night: a warm, flaky slice of galatoboureko, dusted with powdered sugar and paired perfectly with a scoop of their creamy fig ice cream. A perfect ending. Highly recommend!

We decided to try a new Greek restaurant nearby our home. Parking isn't easy especially on the weekends. We were seated promptly. Service was friendly but not refined. Appetizer was the Skara Chips basically a knockoff of Kyma chips badly executed. Mains included Lamb chops and Branzino both adequately prepared. Desert was great ! Rice Pudding definitely recommended it. Price point was a bit high for the location but average for Roslyn. Lots of Greek restaurant in the area at various price points. I'm not sure the food and service level will be competitive with established competition. Hopefully they will find their niche and survive.

Anyway, for the tacos: we got the mojo pork carnitas, pork belly, sesame ribeye, roasted duck, crispy shrimp & baja fish. We also got the duck birria quesadilla, plantains, korean bbq ribeye rice bowl & ahi tuna crispy rice bowl, a side of esquites (street corn off cob) & the seasonal fruit (honeydew) with tajin. All the food came out together so it took a long while. They were obviously short staffed. The pork belly & pork carnitas tacos were our faves- both were flavorful & the pork belly skin was crispy. The shrimp & fish tacos were perfectly fried. The ribeye & roasted duck taco meat were dry. The duck birria quesadilla was really good even tho the broth was a little bland. Corn was spicy yet tasty, we enjoyed the sweet fried plantains too. The rice bowls were disappointing- way too much sauce in the ahi tuna bowl, which made everything very salty & the crispy rice became soggy, and the Korean bbq ribeye was dry & tough- it's basically just a bibimbap. I don't recommend getting rice bowls at a taco place lol. The worst thing was the seasonal fruit with tajin that my daughter ordered. The honeydew was not riped nor sweet but rather flavorless & tasted sour with the tajin & lime juice- disgusting :x

The restaurant has a beautiful, bright, modern atmosphere that feels much more upscale than its surroundings. Based on other reviews, the standout dishes seemed to be the grilled Spanish octopus and the SB Smash Burger, so I ordered both. Unfortunately, the execution fell short in several areas. The East Coast oysters arrived with mignonette but without horseradish or oyster forks--small details, but noticeable oversights. The oysters, octopus, and burger were all tasty, but the presentation of octopus and burger was surprisingly sloppy, as though little attention had been paid when the dishes left the kitchen. The bar also was understaffed. A single bartender was serving both the bar and the entire dining room, which led to waits for drinks. My bartender was friendly, attentive, and worked hard, but one person simply wasn't enough. I finished with the Key Lime Custard, which had what appeared to be a layer of shredded cereal on the bottom. I wasn't sure what it was. The dessert itself was enjoyable, though I think a base of toasted sliced almonds with a few fried blueberries on top of it would have added better texture and complemented the flavors more effectively. One nice perk is the validated valet parking, for a reduced fee, which makes arriving and leaving especially convenient given the mall location. The whiskey selection could also be improved by adding a few more interesting, off-the-beaten-path single malts or blends. Overall, the kitchen shows promise! And perhaps I came on an off night. With better attention to presentation, appropriate bar staffing, and a more adventurous choice of spirits, Small Batch could deliver an experience that better matches its reputation.

Normally, I don't start a review on a negative but after we left and counting up all the missteps, I felt off. My wife is more forgiving, she liked the Frito Misto and Bolognese. It's hard to believe this was a BBQ spot a few years ago. The glass garage door is still in place, back in the day it was enjoyable during the spring. There's a reason why it's called Sparrow Cocktails. I ordered the Smoked Old Fashioned. Made with Angel's Envy Bourbon and wood smoked chips, this was a great cocktail before dinner. The Frito Misto had a delicate coating, it wasn't overly battered. The green dipping sauce served on the side was bland. It didn't add to the dish and was thin. The Malfalde Bolognese was a hearty portion, we were able to share this large dish between the two of us. Made with beef, veal and pork and simmered in San Marzono tomatoes, this entree satisfies all my pasta cravings. I was looking for some grated cheese, none was offered.. The Back Sea Bass special, IMHO we should have passed. My wife asked about bones and was told they de-bone the fish table side. What was served to us was a fish that was cooked well but was full of small pin bones. We passed on dessert, it was time to go. an expensive meal that doesn't warrant a return visit.

Overall, we found many of the dishes to be overly salty and oily. I ordered the rib sandwich and was disappointed because it wasn't what I expected. I anticipated an actual rib sandwich, but it appeared to be more like shredded beef and didn't have the flavor or texture of ribs. My son ordered the stuff Nutella French Toast and ended up sending them back. The eggs he was served were also quite salty. My daughter did not enjoy her burger, which was unusually thick and difficult to eat as prepared. My wife finished her meal, but she did not find it particularly enjoyable and felt the portion size was too small for the price. I think part of the issue may have been the limited Father's Day brunch menu. Had there been more options available, we might have found dishes that better suited our tastes. Additionally, dessert was not included in the package, which was somewhat disappointing. While the atmosphere and service were definite positives, the food did not meet our expectations. Based on this experience, I'm not sure if I would return.

Definitely one of those "I should stop eating this so I have room for dinner" situations . We also shared the Fritto Misto with calamari, pesce, artichoke, hot peppers, lemon, and fra diavolo. I even found some nice chunks of fried salmon mixed in. Everything was lightly fried rather than heavily battered or greasy, but still packed with flavor. The fra diavolo on the side complemented it perfectly. For our entrées, we both ordered the $58 Spaghetti with Maine lobster, pecorino, fra diavolo, and basil. SO GOOD! The pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce had a nice little kick, and there was a generous amount of lobster throughout. I would absolutely order it again. I had the Espresso Martini, which was delicious, and my partner had the lemonade. His only critique was that it was a little tart, but I actually appreciated that. To me, it tasted freshly squeezed rather than overly sweet, watered down, or packed with sugar. Overall, we had no complaints. The Farm Italy gave us a beautiful anniversary dinner from beginning to end. Upscale atmosphere, immaculate space, great service, delicious food, and portions that felt worth it. We left happy and already talking about going back to try more of the menu. Definitely a 5-star experience for us! #foodtiktok #food #dinner #fyp #review @The Farm Italy Restaurant
