Got a new roof, dropped in May never got it back till, August an they didn't do the ceiling , charged the insurance double. Now we haven't used the antenna an it's leaking there. Could not use the antenna ever since they finished. Not sealed properly. Left inside dirty. Wall paper detected, half staples sticking out. Edge of trim looks broke off. Starches on cabinetry. Verydisappointed. Trim on ceiling never fully attached, gapping. Wall between stove an refrigerator was bowed. Not that way before. read more

I cannot speak about the other departments in this store, but it would be criminal for me not to warn you about their service department. We always aim to give our support to the smaller companies prior to going with the big ones; so we did research on the company's owners and that's why we decided to forgo the warnings on Google and Yelp. I'm ashamed that I had to talk to a grown man like he was a 5 year old; but that's what you have to do when people try to talk to you in circles when they realize they're in the wrong. It also saddens me that it took us 4+ months of being lied to before we agreed to just walk away with zero accomplishments. Please do yourself a favor and find another business if you need any RV repairs handled. Sometimes it is just better to leave it to the people who actually want to be "professionals". We dropped off our class A motorhome on Monday October 24th. We requested AC service/maintenance, oil change, slide seal maint/service. In addition we had a minor extended warranty punch list which included, Seals on both toilets needed replaced, Anderson valve in wet bay needed replaced, two drawer latches needed replaced, and main door lock needed replaced. NONE of which were done. Over 9 weeks later we were out of time and had to pick it up. Only items that were completed as far as we can tell; was the oil change and one drawer latch. When we followed up over the 9 week period we were told "they were waiting on parts". Since they had it so long we requested the lines to be "blown out", then we requested winterizing before temps plummeted. The winterizing wasn't done, our water filter housing burst and so did the strainer site glass on the water pump, which resulted in a drive an hour away for parts. On board tools were also stolen from the "locked" basement in which they took no ownership in and as a matter of fact insulted my husband on the brand that he had. (Craftsman) Stating that "we didn't lose much." We were told that they have issues with homeless and "winos" breaking into the RV's and even stealing catalytic converters. Also, we were told that the RV lock keys are universal and that there are "plenty of keys" out there.... Our final work order said "issue with the toilets could not be recreated" (so not a parts issue). If the vacuflush would have been turned on, the problem with the toilet would be obvious. Once at our site in FL, we did some research, ordered toilet seal kits ($40) received them in a few days and repaired one toilet other toilet was just loose at the seal. We repaired the Anderson valve with a new cartridge for $30. read more

Excellent service from Steve Dunn and Skaggs RV Body Shop. Due to damages caused by me not seeing a large tree limb, the complete roof and one AC unit had to be replaced on our 39 foot Big Country 5th wheel. I already had maintenance scheduled to check the brakes and pack the wheel bearings with the service department, so while I was there to drop it off for this service, I ask the service scheduler if they could give me an estimate for the roof damages. They immediately contacted Steve at the body shop and he came over and went through it with me. Steve emailed me the detailed estimate by the end of the day and followed up with a phone call to review it with me. Soon as my insurance provider approved the work to proceed, Steve ordered all of the material and turned around the job in 2-weeks as he said he would. I live out of state, but Steve kept me well informed and contacted me soon as the work was completed and arranged for me to pick up my unit on a Saturday while I was in E-town. I checked out everything before leaving and the work appeared to be professionally completed. The customer service from this company was the best I have seen in a long time. I took my RV into Skaggs RV about a month ago. I needed the bedroom slide out adjusted, walked out with Randy and he looked it over and said not a problem he would get it taken care of. I have not received any follow up calls or any type of contact at all. I have called at lease 7 times requesting a status update, and still no calls. I went Saturday 1 July to pick up my RV and take it home. This is the 3rd time that I have had an RV needing service. the sad thing is I have had the same issues, no follow up call or contact of any kind. I plan to take my RV elsewhere. read more

First off, I should have listened to the reviews on Yelp. Awful, I flew from RDU to SDF to buy a used consignment 2016 Roadtrek Zion Class B -- salesman (Craig Perkins) told me that they were checking everything out so had to delay my flight two days before showing up to pick it up--lame they said they had no techs available on Saturday to ensure everything was okay with the van (red flag #1). Craig assured me that there were no issues with the B and that it was literally "New" -- luckily, it was in writing. But something wasn't quite right as they were rushing for me to take it home (red flag #2). I discovered bunch of screws were missing on the ottomans and pointed it out to the tech (red flag #3). Then when I did finally started heading back on a 400+ mile journey, found out all sorts of issue--brakes were making awful noise no matter how soft or hard I pressed on it; dashboard lighting up like Christmas tree each time I turned on the headlight and/or fog lights (red flag #4). Wipers were faulty (red flag #5). Major issue with brakes that they had masked during test drive but they denied any wrongdoing. Luckily, their bank screwed up and reverted back the ACH transfer that I have submitted while I was driving back to NC--reason was they did not know who was it from; while the owner NeVelle insisted I pay for the van with issues (Youtube video of issues while driving back-- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-nqqGNFEJpANs2q-5PwKIGcW67ogm-4Y/view ). I had made it clear that until all mechanical issues I've mentioned were fixed I would do no such thing. He then had the gall to insist that everything was covered under warranty. Hah, just as I told him the RAM dealer in Raleigh states that the issue is likely not covered under Basic Warranty which 7 months worth was remaining. I gave them an ultimatum; either fix it at their expense or no purchase. I had not heard back from them in the last 24 hours. Then I ran into a nice Service Manager named Paul Rowan at the Westgate RAM--he told me that NeVelle called and said he'd speak to me about what could be done to resolve the issue while never received any email nor phone call from the owner NeVelle @ Skaggs RV Outlet. He also had stated that he's contemplating whether to send someone to Westgate and they he may or may not have it diagnosed out of pocket on their dime. This morning, Skaggs RV had relisted the van on RVtrader.com without informing me that they are withdrawing the sale; re-listed at a lower price from $74,995 to $69,995. So I guess in the end NeVelle sent one of his goons to drive the van back from the RAM dealership without even informing them (Westgate Dodge/RAM in Raleigh). Some people never learn that there's no shortcut when it comes to success--it's not easy, everyone has to follow the Law of sun, rain, soil, and sweat. Edit: Late in the evening, without any communications, the owner NeVelle Skaggs sent me an email stating that he is assuming I am no longer interested and that he will have one of his employees take the van back at Westgate Dodge/RAM in Raleigh NC. Do not go to this place for service. I repeat. Do not go this place for service. Why? I took my Class A for repair/replace of roof and awning on May 25th. I was told by Rick he would have my estimate the next week. Wrong. It was June 14th when my insurance adjuster received and approved the needed repairs. I then followed up with a phone call June 21 and left a message for Rick. June 29th I went to the dealership to find Rick claiming he never received approval. Which is complete Bulls**t. He was given approval June 14th. I also requested a few non-insurance related repairs knowing it would take a while for the parts to come in. Only one of the three requested repairs are being done so far. And I'm pretty sure it's not repaired to a working condition. I guarantee if you take your RV to Skaggs RV you will not see it for 3 to 6 months as Rick told me he's had one there since February. This is what I get for helping the local company. read more

Do not take your RV or trailer to them to sell on consignment. They are absolutely horrible with communication!! They NEVER call you back, it was so frustrating just trying to get a simple answer out of them. My RV sold back in April, I would have to call every month to see when payment was coming. I finally got paid yesterday, but of course I had to call to find out where the check was. Very poor communication skills, they could have avoided all my frustration and stress by just simply answering my calls. I was ignored, passed off, told "I'll find something out and call you right back" it never happened. The only time I got action is when I send them registered mail. The service department is horrible they have had our camper since October 23. We had a leak in the slide out since we bought it 2 years ago. Bought here brand new of showroom floor. The keep messing around trying different things to fix it. Now there is mold in the clothes closet. They say there replacing a window that's causing leak & replacing the molded carpet in the closet. But how long does that take! We have a trip planned 2nd week of March. Not sure if we our getting it back in time. This is crazy 4 months! Skaggs has the camper more than we do. We bought a camper from Skaggs RV in Elizabethtown Ky four months ago. They keep giving us the run a round as to why we haven't received our license and registration. I will never recommend them to anyone. And if I need RV service I will find another dealer. Be smart and don't purchase a camper through them. They'll rip you off! read more

Tried to get a/c replaced. Gave me appointment, price for labor and parts. I wait 2 weeks for appointment, the find out they didn't order a/c unit. parts guy was there, the lady at service desk was there, I tried to pay a deposit or in full but was told not necessary. Not helpful, but everyone was willing to point fingers at other sections. will order my own and will not bother this dealership. Too bad Hardin Co doesn't have a good rv repair place. read more

My wife and I purchased an RV from Skaggs and the sales department never sent the registration paperwork to the DMV. We called multiple times to request the paperwork and never got a call back, that's to include Mr. Skaggs himself. This process took over 7 MONTHS. We had to personally go up there and get the paperwork and take it to the DMV ourselves. ***If I could rate the service department and the technicians in the back separately, I would give them 5 stars. read more

We took Flair Rv along with a fender skirt to have fender skirt painted and attached. We were charged for 4 hours labor @$95.00 per hour. If this job took 4 hours they need to get someone who works faster or have more supervision. We are somewhat at fault for this charge as we should have gotten estimate before. This is absolutely one of the worst experiences I have ever had. AND it couldn't have come at a worse time. I purchased a camper to financially support my final military PCS relocation because I was geographically separated from my family. When I spoke with Dennis in sales regarding consigning my camper he was so supportive so my husband and I decided to go with Skaggs. With that said, I am only giving them a 1 STAR because of Dennis H in sales. He was wonderful. HOWEVER, the accounting department and the owner are CRIMINALS. I was notified that my camper had a buy and I needed to write a payoff check to cover the difference the second week of July. Four days after I mailed the check I called to see why the check had not cleared. At that time the representative confirmed that they had the check but it was with the accounting department. I left at least 4 messages and called at least 12 times over the course of 1.5 weeks. I never once got a phone call returned. The first weekend of August, I drove out to see if the camper was still on the lot but it was not. On the 5th of August, I drove out there but couldn't find anyone with the power to do anything in the office. I called that week and left more messages for someone to call me back. Meanwhile, the back was calling me regarding the payment of my loan. I drove again on the 23rd as asked to speak to someone that could assist. Again - no one had the power to do anything. The owners daughter called for him to come. He stated he was 4 minutes out, but arrived 15 minutes later and walked straight past me without even acknowledging I was there. It continued to wait at the service counter for another 12 minutes and then proceeded to the back to track him down. He was chatting..... I explained what the issue was. He was super nonchalant about it. He went in the accountant's office and found the paperwork. He confirmed they had it and everything was there, and also stated they would fix in the am and agreed to call me and let me know. IN FACT - he didn't take responsibility for anything and openly blamed it on his employees. Once again, no call so at 2pm I called back and got nowhere. Today, after more calls and collection talk from the bank, my husband went back up there only to run into the same thing. We now have to wait to Tuesday. What a great "thank you for your service gift" from Skaggs. OBTW - my loan still hasn't been paid off but the camper the loan is out for is already sold and shipped.... This company should be shut down and the owner punished. They are corrupt and un-American. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!! You will regret it. I really wish I would have read these posts before going there! read more

Worst place to trade-in a camper. Skaggs RV Outlet that is owned by Mr. Nevelle Skaggs will not pay off your trade. It's going on 5 months as of 1 October 2019 and 4 visits to the dealership and my trade still haven't been paid off. The funny thing is my trade is listed on their website for sale as of 16 February 2019. I wish I never did business at Skaggs RV outlet. It is by far the worst mistake ever. I have been forced to get the BBB involved and found out they are not a credited business and was encourage to seek a lawyer. read more

They have the worst RV Repair service. My RV was out there for 5 weeks for replacement of an all in one stereo, installment of a tv and a control module. They were rude as hell, Mr Skaggs must hate to have courteous service!! Maybe they don't know what being polite is!!! From now on we will goto right stop RV!! read more

I cannot say enough nice things about the service department at Skaggs RV. We were traveling home to Texas via Mammoth Cave towing a 34' travel trailer when my husband noticed two trailer wheels were unusually hot. We checked with another repair place and were told they couldn't help us for two and a half weeks! It was late in the day and Skaggs RV could not repair the trailer that night, but they gave us full hookups for free to camp in their parking lot overnight. The next morning, Mark and the other service techs were hard at work on our rig before 8 am. Three guys spent two hours and repacked the wheel bearings on both sides and checked the brakes for only $186, including parts. Down the road, we got concerned again and returned. Again, the service department put aside everything else and spent two more hours making sure everything was safely redone at no charge to us. We were treated courteously by everyone at Skaggs and Mark even checked up on us after we left. We have never received this kind of excellent priority service at any other RV repair shop. read more
