We purchased a camper from Camping World in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and the entire experience has been one headache after another. From the start, they tried to sell me a trailer hitch at full price even though it was discounted on their own website. When I pointed this out, the salesman disappeared to "talk to his manager" and came back claiming the original $1,000 price included installation and labor -- which apparently meant sliding the hitch into the back of my truck for an extra $500. It felt like a scam from the beginning. After signing the paperwork and driving an hour home, they called the next day saying they had "lost" or thrown away our paperwork and wanted us to drive all the way back to fix their mistake. We refused, so they mailed it instead. We took our "new winterized unit" camping the following weekend, and on day one the flow sensor in the tankless hot water heater cracked and leaked water the entire trip. We called our salesman and the service department twice over the weekend and never received a single call back. A month and a half later, someone from Camping World finally called to ask how we liked our purchase. When I explained everything that happened the hitch issue, the lost paperwork, the lack of communication, and the water heater failure they said they'd call back. When they did, the service manager told us to call them so they could "maybe" warranty the issue. Which I do have a text message from our salesman saying " it will for sure be covered" At this point, I wouldn't recommend Camping World in Bowling Green to anyone. Our experience was very good!! Contrary to all the negative reviews I read before going through with the deal. We just bought a 2026 Forest River 3010ds Sunseeker ( 10/21/25) and the experience couldn't have been any better. J. T. Hardin, Our salesman, was great .. no pressure, no hurry, patient (and I'm sure we tried his patience!), he LISTENED to and addressed all our concerns throughout the process. I let him know from the start that I wasn't taking possession of it unless EVERYTHING worked. I wasn't going to leave with a "punch list" of small issues "to be taken care of later!" .. J. T. Hardin listened and made it happen. The Finance lady (sorry forgot her name) was great. Again.. no pressure.. she advised us of extended warranties available but no high pressure. Chris Tall, the service person that walk us through the unit is a rock star!. He was Very thorough and in no hurry. This might read like some paid advertisement.. but it's not!. I'm an actual customer and this was our actual experience. This is our 5th rv purchase. From 5 different dealerships. So we have a little experience with the process. Let me preface buy saying I woul give zero stars but it's not an optio. I began chatting a salesman approximately 06/15/25 I found the unit I wanted we discussed down payment and payment posted on the website. My bonus was supposed to drop on 6/30/25 I told the salesman I would call back on the 30th to make arrangements to come p/u the unit. my bonus was held up, so I called the rep and explained the company was holding until after 7/4, and I would contact again upon my receiving said bonus. 7/6 I took my car for a routine service,as it was a 100 mile trip for me. Then called the rep and told him I was on my way, unfortunately my car had other plans. It broke down 11 miles from camping world. I called camping world, spoke with my rep told him of my situation. before I could ask if he knew of a reputable towing company and service center he told me, when I get a car that can make the trip come and see him. I'm 60 years of age and I'm a disabled veteran, none of this matters to anyone but me. Of this I'm sure, but back in the day you never left a customer in dire straits. I know I'm not his responsibility but if I was working for a $2000 commission my customer would be more of a concern. From the moment you walk in the door you can almost feel that you're not welcome and they do everything they can to avoid assisting you. The customer service department is by the worst I have dealt with. My last time in the store just proved my point once again. I'm so glad I have never had the need to use them on any kind of repair or service to our toy hauler Rv. with the level of help I have received during my visits I would never consider buying any rvs thru them. I can only imagine what that would be like. I usually only purchased items off the showroom floor that I don't need any assistance with. Driving north and wanting to stop to get antifreeze for our trailer and of course I love to see all the camping things that I can't live without! Camping World, you would think would be an easy on and off the highway and would accommodate campers with parking. The parking lot was full and the arrows where it said for RV parking was filled with trailers for sale. My husband had to back up because we were at a dead end. Finally someone came out and told us to park out in the street where it says NO PARKING! Not a good first impression! I recommend Walmart or the next Truck Stop! My biggest mistake was not heeding the reviews online about CW of Bowling Green before attempting to do business with them. Sleazy, unethical & apathetic are probably the best adjectives to describe this business. We had a deal going to trade my travel trailer for a very slightly used 2022 fifth wheel. During the back and forth offers and counter offers of negotiations, I noticed that they slipped in a "destination" charge of close to $1000. Just like with cars, that is typically a fee on new units and is the charge for shipping to the dealership from the manufacturer, not on a unit that they took on trade-in (like the one I was negotiating for). When I noticed that and called them out on it, of course the salesman didn't have a good answer and agreed to take it off. By that point however, my guard was up about their shady business practices. They were also a complete and utter pain to work with regarding the hitch they were willing to install on my short-bed truck. Because the fifth wheel I was interested in purchasing had a pivoting pin box, I did not need a sliding hitch. In an effort to save weight, space, and money I adamantly did not want a sliding hitch. I literally spent hours upon hours through numerous phone calls between the salesman, their service department, the manufacturers of the fifth wheel, hitch, and pivoting pin box. ALL of them said that the truck, fifth wheel, and non-sliding hitch would work without issues, but CW kept insisting that their corporate policy prevents them from installing non-sliding hitches on short-bed trucks. Finally, after having a meeting of the minds they agreed to install the hitch I had picked out. The deal however ultimately fell through. As my last counteroffer I had asked to get the hitch and install included in the deal. The salesman checked with his manager and came back with a "My manager says he's all in". This I took to mean that his manager is "all in" and okay with including the hitch and install. Therefore, I towed my trade-in to them, went through the full briefing on the particulars of the new unit, and left to go home to take the cap off my truck so I could return a few days later for the hitch install, closing the deal, and driving away with the fifth wheel. While at home it somehow came out in a text conversation with the salesman that his manager meant that he had no more left to come down on the deal when he said he was "all in". Needless to say I was utterly furious with these shenanigans that ultimately cost me a lot of my time, energy, and even expensive diesel fuel due to towing my trade in and eventually having to pick it up. I subsequently checked with the Better Business Bureau and come to find out that of the 188 CW locations in the U.S., they have had 1049 complaints against them in the last three years. I will be number 1050. When you consider the effort it takes to lodge a complaint with the BBB, it really says something that there are so many complaints against them. I guess they are quite talented at infuriating customers to that level. As others have written in their reviews, STAY AWAY and do NOT do business with them. From the minute you walk in their store you'll understand the level of apathy and lack of friendliness/attentiveness from their staff. Combined with their shady business practices, there are many, many better places to buy an RV or have it serviced. The first two trailers I bought were from two different dealers that were easy and a pleasure to work with. We do not want to give it one star! But Yelp is making us. The is the worse RV repair shop, Camping World Nashville, TN. They did not repair our fifth wheel properly. The craftmanship was subpar at best. They broke our awning and tried to hide it by zip tying it. The left off the capture plate when we went to pick it up and didn't even tell us. This particular location is a joke. Bought a camper in February (first time owners). Did the walk through and everything seemed fine. Went camping a couple months later when a gentleman came up and told us that our camper was missing stabilization jacks in the back (we wouldn't have known). Called camping world and made an appointment to bring it in and have them installed under manufacturers warranty. Should have known it was going to be a joke at the start of the process because when making the appointment I was asking if I was sure if the rear jacks weren't "knocked off at some point" as if we went off roading with our equipment. Dropped the camper off on a Friday at this location which is an hour and fifteen minutes away from our home. Told them we needed it done by Wednesday July 2nd since we were taking it out for independence weekend. Lo and behold, July 2nd comes around, and I have received no updates from camping worlds service department. I call twice and get the same story that they've left my message with the service department who will be calling me back. I finally drive down to Bowling Green at 2pm with my husbands truck and my 2 year old son while my husband is at work to pick up our trailer due to my husband being at work. Upon my arrival, I see our trailer with no rear jacks installed. When speaking with the service department, I am told that they couldn't get Forest River's warranty department to sign off on the claim to provide the jacks. They then told me once the warranty department signed off on it, I could bring it back and they would put the jacks on same day. I then asked if someone could bring the camper up so we could hook it up, I was told it would be about 10 minutes. After waiting 15 minutes, I proceeded to backing my truck down the service alley to my trailer and began hooking my camper up by myself. Whilst doing this, I watched the service department sit back and watch as I ( a 140lb woman) hook the hitch up, sway bars, etc. by myself without an offer to assist at all. I towed the camper home and proceeded to email forest river to get some answers. I received a prompt response from them stating that they had received no claim from camping worlds service department bowling green that there were missing jacks on our camper! This just validated that camping world gave me the run around and had our equipment sitting there for almost a week while doing absolutely nothing with it. I then forwarded this information to my husband who took over. He proceeded to call the service department at camping world and spoke to a supervisor who stated he had "no idea" his employees had done that. A claim was submitted to Forest River and there was some back and forth on who was going to pay for the jacks on the camper. A week later, my husband was told to bring the camper down another hour and fifteen minutes for the installation of the jacks they had gotten in. When he arrived he was told they had the wrong jacks, and that he should come back on Monday when they had the right ones! My husband proceeded to tell them that at this point that was a them problem and that they needed to take the jacks off another unit in their inventory and place it on ours as they were the ones who told us to drive down in the first place as well as the ones who sold us a faulty product in the first place. Long story short, do not purchase from, or utilize the service department at camping world bowling green, or camping world in general. They have terrible service, are rude, inconsiderate, and do not have the customers best interest in mind. read more

dealing with camping world service in Bowling Green almost makes one want to quit Raving after 30 years! They have lied to me for the last two weeks about everything from when they were gonna fix my motorhome to what was wrong with it. They actually told me they had secured my slide, which all were not true. I dropped it off on Sunday. They parked in front of the service bay and said they would get on it first thing Monday morning. Two weeks later after multiple calls they finally said they checked it out. So I go to check my motorhome and was towed. Everything was secure. Everybody's returned off all was taken care of. But when I come to find out, it wasn't true. It's hard to do business with someone that tells you a bow face lie that begins to build a trust issues so you don't know if anything they tell you is the truth. I had put an appointment in to view the RV with Faith whom was also great and she set me up with the best sales lady Lauren. We drove 2 hours to camping world bowling green Kentucky When we entered no one said welcome. We walked around for an hour no one asked to help us. I went to the service desk. There were 3 people there. No one spoke to me so I asked where I could find an anode rod for a suburban hot water tank1 guy walked over to the parts pointed them out and said you need the magnesium one and started to walk away. I said what about the cleaning wand. He said should be there and walked away. The other 2 guys didn't even acknowledge I was a customer. They acted like they didn't want to be there. We went into 5 different campers on the floor and nobody asked if I was looking to buy or trade or even acted like my wife and I were on their planet. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! A company has to do very poorly before I will write a bad review, but I feel obligated to share my experience out of interest of helping other consumers avoid what I am going through. I would give a negative 5 star if possible. Camping World BG had the exact unit I wanted and it was used. The pricing on the unit was fair. The add-on charges, lies, scuzzy, and deceptive sales tactics are why any consumer should stay away from Camping World Bowling Green. Perhaps consumers should avoid any Camping World locations since some of the things I have learned seem to be practices from the corporate level to cheat consumers out of their money. Things went awry after negotiating for a weight distributing hitch and sway control. The charge was $900. I requested a specific hitch because it is in my opinion the best, and I take my and my family's safety and the safety of those around us on the road seriously. The salesmen, Chris B., wrote the hitch down on the paper with the other financing details and charges. He said, "that won't be a problem, we can do that." Meaning, for $900, I would get a $600 hitch and pay $300 for installation. I could live with that. What they delivered instead was a $278, Chinese made, hitch with +$600 of installation charges. (3 hours of labor at $190, though they only labored for 30 to 45 mins; the hitch was installed while I completed finance paperwork.) When I arrived days later to pick up the unit, I was instructed to back my truck in front of my new trailer. I was rushed off to financing to compete paperwork. I asked the salesmen if they got the hitch I requested, he said they got something comparable, an active sway control with weight distribution. When I returned to my truck and new trailer, they had installed a $278, passive sway control hitch. (Exactly what I had told the salesmen I did not want.) Plus, they charged me for 3 hours of work at a rate of $190/hour. So instead of a $600 hitch and $300 of labor, I was bait and switched to a $278 hitch with $600 labor. I reached out to corporate and received a call with no message from Camping World in BG +48 hours later. Barry He sales manager's solution to the lies and scuzzy tactics was to send me a $250 Camping World gift certificate and for me to sell the $278 hitch they installed on Facebook market place to try to get as much of my money back as possible and get the hitch I want. Plus, he also told me they always charge 3 hours of labor for hitch installs at $190, even though the work took them 45 mins. Barry also confirmed that Camping World does not even sell the brand of hitch I originally negotiated with Chris B.; that means he sat there and lied to my face with no intent to deliver. Additionally, my conversation with Barry revealed that his coaching to the lying salesmen was to advise him "some customers want to hit the road and others know what they want". Meaning, they will continue to fleece people for $900 ($278 hitch and +$600 labor for 45 mins of work) if they are not part of the "just want to hit the road" group. At this point, I am still out $650 after their $250 gift card resolution. I am still working with corporate to be made whole, but I felt I needed to write this review to hopefully spare other consumers from dealing with Camping World Bowling Green and their lying, shady, scuzzy, used car type practices. They asked to put down a deposit to hold the price till I could come to an agreement with my payments and everything. Grant you I hadn't sign the papers to get it or anything. So we couldn't come to an agreement in it so I cancelled the sale. They tell me today that they couldn't and wouldn't give me back my deposit on the camper. So I'd highly never put a deposit down for anything unless your sure your going to get it. Plus I would never buy from Camping World period. It's like going to a car dealership and nothing but high pressure to get your money. So no deposits to hold prices. That's the lesson today. I'd like everyone to please share this so no one else gets scammed or high pressured into something like I did by Camping World. They get a negative 10 on customer service and ethics. read more

This review is for the sales people only, the ladies up front an th cashier saved the day. Well, we Got up yesterday am, went to disconnect the electric cable from the trailer and the prong from the trailer side came out fused to the cord. Ugghh. We got it fixed at this rv/stable place for basically the cost of the part, because we gave him the cord with the fried end! Then we had to go to a camping world who said they had the kind of cable we described to them, only when we got there they couldn't find it in the section and told us we had to go to a electric supply place which was closing in like 5 min. But I went back to the section and found an adapter and the ladies let me go try it on the trailer and one did work. The lady at the check out did sell us a good Sam membership and that and the 25 dollar gift certificate she gave us for all the stress added up to $100! Leave it to the ladies to save the experience! The guy that helped us was a complete tool, basically shrugged and said "oh well" . Didn't even try to look for a solution. I made sure he knew the chick figure it out on her own!!!!! read more

My experience with Camping World has not been a good one. The Nashville Location did me in wrong with sales staff and no follow up. They only showed what they wanted me to see. I called the sales Manager at Bowling Green and told him of my experience and he informed me that I wouldn't have any bad dealings. Well I went up there about 2 weeks ago, had a wonderful salesman and showed me what I wanted in a travel trailer. Found what I wanted and started the paperwork trail. Finance said my income and credit was good and even going with a down payment plus my trade, which I thought was way to low. They texted me about sending my support documents about my income and that was the last I heard from them. Today I decided to text them and ask where we are with my deal. I was told they can't do my deal. I am totally upset because not no person had the respect to call me personally and tell me this information. This is why I am low scoring this camping world in Bowling Green. I don't believe that I will ever do business with any camping world again. I was blind sided by this company. Worst experience ever! We "purchased" a camper on Saturday. Everything was "fine" financing wise. Trust me. I asked and was told it was "good to go". Gave them a $500 check as a hold. We were supposed to pick up on Wednesday. Received a call Tuesday that they needed to add me to the loan (I wasn't originally). Sent pay and ID verification on Tuesday. Was told "I will call you by 10 tomorrow morning". No call. Called them. Was told "I will call you back in 15 minutes". Two hours later and still no call. Check cleared the bank. Called corporate. Call disconnected first time. Called corporate back (I just needed to know where we were). Call was being transferred to local dealership. Call magically disconnected again. FINALLY get a call from finance and it was denied. When asked why we were approved Saturday, a deposit check cleared and now being denied - no answer. Said he would have to check with accounting for my return deposit. I explained he had 3 days to return my money. Phone magicallly disconnects again. Now I am out the deposit AND my insurance deposit AND 2 dings on my credit report (that I just finished paying EVERYTHING I owed off). Run away from these people as fast as you can. As. Fast. As. Don't trust the quotes you get from them as this seems bait and switch. If you take it for an appraisal, be prepared to walk away. Drove 35 min to store only to have sales people standing around chatting it up with no offer of help. Finally found a young guy and asked about the part. We had an appointment for flooring estimate. New employee made appointment on estimators day off, understandable. Called estimator and made arrangement for early AM appointment. Went inside, early, estimator had no clue of our needs. Serious communication issues. He worked with us, as best he could, tension was very obvious. We requested several minor repairs along with floor estimate. Due to one tech availability, unable to assist with most. This is a huge corporation and a growing RV ownership market. Do not ever intend on going to any Camping World again. we took it in for very minor repairs after owning it for a month. T hey kept the camper longer than we've even owned it. Charged us over 500.00 dollars for repair work that was never done. When my husband husband realized they had no pictures to show the damage to the roof or the repair, he asked a technician to go check the roof. They both went up on the roof and absolutely nothing had been done. they are the most crooked, unscrupulous business I have ever dealt with. they have a couple of young girls working the service desk that know absolutely nothing but are supposed to be your rep. they won't answer the phone, they won't return your calls. i eventually had to contact Keystone and get them involved. i wish there was a way to give them less than one star. Sad day for me - I loved the new Camping World/Gander Mt. combo store here in Bowling Green. Because we are a small town we don't get full sized Cabella's or Bass Pro. There are only mom and pop sporting good stores/fishing/hunting stores. When they opened the new Camping World it was FULL of boating supplies, firearm supplies, hunting, fishing AND all kinds of camping/trailer parts, accessories and just about anything needed. NOT ANY MORE - I walked into the store today to find the entire store rearranged so they can fit 30 more campers indoors. Obviously they must make more money on campers because they reduced everything else down to bare minimum in the store. Great boating section - down to a few isles. Rows of gun cases and accessories now down to a small few isles. I walked around the store in shock - all the clothes that I used to love to check out - gone. But boy they got all those damn campers jambed in there and not to mention the parking lot as well. They lost a very dedicated customer today. I also feel that many more people will be doing the same. They went back to the little store, just like Cabellas here in town. What I thought was the best outdoors store in Bowling Green has given up and gone to selling.....campers. Good luck guys - hope you sell lots of campers - you gave up on the Gander Mountain part of your new concept - you blew it and I can't figure out why. You had a great concept. Excellent RV parts and service!! This store sets the standard for Camping World! I drove from around the Clarksville, TN area and will continue to use this as my go to Camping World, even despite the 2 hr drive. The associates that work here are the most helpful and friendly I have ever run into. They go out of their way to help. I had to drop my RV off and leave it for an extended time due to a business trip and the folks here were more than happy to help out! Don't waste your time going to Nashville, swing in to this camping world and you won't be let down. There are plenty of nearby stores to visit as well..Gander Mountain, Cabelas, and many more. Review is only for sales dept. Very unprofessional, basically had to beg for a call back when looking into buying a camper. Gave them the deposit amount "the bank" was requiring, came to agreement on monthly payment. After waiting over a day to schedule pick up they decide to say there is an issue with bank and deal couldnt be done. Complete waste of my time with minimal communication on their part. Terrible Experience, will never be back. read more

I was told my slide motor was only going to cost $700, it came to over $2,300. Then they broke my ignition switch and told me I had to get it fixed and they broke a light fixture said it was because my RV was old. The general manager David is horrible He's very rude to people. I watched them bounce a camper that belonged to somebody else on the front end the the plug for the lighting was falling on the ground and the chains were dragging. I would give them negative stars if I could they say to call this Marcus and you can talk to him there is no Marcus! You go to a call center that tries to appease you and then they don't. They try to get you to upgrade to a better membership so you can have phone help. Why would I even ask for help when they can't even fix the things I've asked them to fix to begin with. I also asked them to fix my heater they charged me for it but still didn't fix my heater. They're horrible please do not go to them you will waste your money. read more

I totally enjoyed my experience of purchasing my new home on wheels. In downsizing my lifestyle I purchased a Montana 5'r and they were super on delaying my delivery until the site is ready for delivery. In the meantime I found an item I wanted so I emailed the salesperson (Emilia) and she replied quickly. Would give them a 5 star without hesitation.
