Tonight's video is from having a little time on my hands in the Bethlehem area and deciding to pop in to Sizzling Bites Halal Grill. I had heard that the owner of this spot is related to the owner of Flaming Hot Halal in some way which made me nervous. A lot of people really talked up Flaming Hot and while I thought it was pretty good, I didn't think it was anywhere near the pedestal that everyone put it on. This place was pretty large and very clean, I appreciate the cleanliness and having seating. Decided to go with the mix grill (lamb and chicken) and since I got a very small amount of white sauce at the other spot I asked for a side of it as well. I definitely without a doubt prefer Sizzling Bites. There was more meat, it was more flavorful and juicy, the rice tasted nearly identical, and the people were far friendlier here. The chicken and lamb both had great flavor and I even enjoyed the salad with the white sauce on it. If you're big on fries with these platters you'll probably like them, but I could take or leave them myself...I've never cared for fries on a halal platter. This is one I'll definitely re-visit. I ordered the beef and lamb combo over rice but there seemed to have been a misunderstanding because i was given chicken, beef and lamb over rice. I usually try to stay away from the chicken because from other places ive been to, the meat has fat in it and im very particular. When i received my food i noticed it wasnt what i ordered so i took it to the front and explained to the guy that i asked for beef and lamb. He looked at me like i had 5 heads and told me he thought i asked for the mixed platter which was all 3 meats. I told him for the second time that it was just beef and lamb. It was busy and i didnt want to make a bigger deal out of it so i told him not to even worry about it and i would stay with the combo. Once I sat down to actually eat my food, it was amazing. I was not disappointed in the quality of the chicken at all. The meat was very tender and flavorful. The french fries are a great addition to the platters and they were perfectly seasoned. The white sauce and hot sauces were top tier. My favorite being the green sauce. The falafel 10/10. I docked 1 star because if the customer is telling you their order is messed up, i feel like there should be no back and forth. If you had told us that the best halal food we would have in our lives was in this little place in Bethleham that we randomly decided to go to on our way home from Jim Thorpe, we wouldn't have believed you. Like their name, be aware that food comes in spicy even their Mac and cheese. With that out of the way, they are tasty and the spiciness combo makes it very good combo.
