Maybe age doesn't really matter. What we know for sure is that size matters, especially when it comes to burgers.
I felt like a puppy waiting for my master at the window when I was waiting for Size Matters to open in my former neighborhood. When it finally opened, I went that same week. Considering they were still on dry run, service was notably good. Because size does matter, they have sizing options for most of the items on their menu. I decided to try their The Works Burger, which ironically comes only in one size. When it arrived, I realized why - it was huge and I knew I've have a difficult time finishing it. It had bacon, cheese, caramelized onions, mushrooms and blue cheese, aside from the beef patty. It was really good, except there were a few bits of tendon in the patty. A man near the counter saw me spit it out into my napkin and he approached me to ask what it was. Turns out that he was the owner and he apologized for it. I told him it's totally fine, as it's unavoidable and that it happens even in the best steakhouses. He was still apologizing and assured that he will take it up with his meat supplier. That was what got me - the willingness to claim criticism (wait, I didn't even criticize) and eagerness to improve. Aside from the jumbo-sized food, the taste, the jumbo condiments and drinks, it's good to know that at Size Matters, quality matters. read more
