We just came from 8 Cuts Burger Blends at Megamall for lunch earlier with the family. That was actually our second visit there. We ordered the Cheeseburger (No. 3), the Hangover, Onion Rings, Fries, F. Chicken with rice, and bottomless iced tea and lemonade. The burgers were excellent, as expected. Nothing I've ever tasted before. Maybe, it's the combination of all the choicest ingredients in them. The onion rings... YUM! My sister even plans to make them at home. Very tasty.. I wasn't able to taste the chicken because it was my mom who ordered it. The only thing I wasn't thrilled about was their bottomless drinks. Their glasses are a bit small & they are already pre-filled with ice. We had to call the servers several times for refill. There were even moments when servers were nowhere to be found because they were attending to other customers. I hope they could do something about this. Generally, the food, place and the servers were great.

We sat beside the window. It has a great view of EDSA. Ordered onion rings which didn't taste like onion rings. For some people that might be delicious but I like my onion rings to taste like, well, onions. Spicy chicken wings was good though. The mushroom burger was kind of bland, considering that burgers are their specialty. The chocolate milkshake with a hint of vodka was so-so. Salted caramel shake was good. Overall, experience was good.

'Crap. This is actually good..." That was my reaction when I tried The Q-Daddy (P295), a quarter-pounder 100% U.S. beef patty of flank, oxtail, and rib eye blended all together, sandwiched by two sesame seed buns. Drizzled with jalapeño ranch and sweetly spiced barbecue sauce, the burger explodes with the flavor of crispy bacon strips, yellow cheddar cheese, onion tanglers, iceberg lettuce, tomato, and meat dripping in its own juice. If it sounds like this is my first time eating a burger, it's because I rarely eat them at all. I am a reluctant consumer of burgers; I chalk it up to all those years of childhood spent knowing only Burger King and McDonald's. While every person I've talked to about 8 Cuts Burger Blends immediately assumes it's an international business, it is actually owned by Eliza Antonio. A DIY burger restaurant that allows you to pick your own buns, toppings, and patty blends, 8 Cuts Burger Blends earns its title by using 8 premium cuts of beef for their patties: chuck, sirloin, rib-eye, brisket, short rib, hanger, flank, and ox tail, all the while maintaining the quality of a burger. An open kitchen leaves no illusions as to how they prepare their burgers, grinding and hand-pressing their patties to achieve the right consistency. The beef is tender and juicy, dripping generously when you tilt your burger to bite it, but still pink in the middle and firm enough not to spill over. For sides, I suggest that you "pimp your fries!" and order the skinny fries with sub-atomic bacon & cheese (P135). Since the smell of burgers tends to stick, to wash it all down I tried their bestselling dessert, the molten chocolate bottoms (P135), which is pretty much a jar of molten lava cake by another name. Hailed as Manila's Best Burger Joint of 2014, 8 Cuts has a hip and cool ambiance thanks to its colorful couches and glowing signs of "What's your beef?" In the farthest corner of the room a sign tells you how you can add your own songs to their playlist and hang around long enough to jam to music chosen by you and other people having one hell of a burger.

I had heard many good things about 8 Cuts before I ate there so when I visited for the first time I had very high expectations. It did NOT disappoint AT ALL. I wouldn't say I'm a picky eater in general but when it comes to burgers, let's just say I can get quite finicky. Now 8 Cuts isn't the first "make-your-own" type burger place in the metro but the quality of every ingredient to choose from makes all the difference. You get to pick and choose only the best toppings to go on your burger as well as the kind of bun and beef blend for the patty. Their buns are all fresh and their patties are extra juicy and flavorful. I love the steak cut! I found it tangier than the regular house blend. They also have an array of cheeses and unique sauces that make you salivate just thinking about them. Truffle creamed cheese and sweetly spiced BBQ sauce sound good? They sure taste good! For starters/sides I lalalooove their Golden Cheddar Mozzarella Sticks and their Skinny Fries with the Sub-Atomic Chorizo and Cheese. *heart eyes emoji* The vibe of the restaurant is really cool with interesting retro wall fixtures and eye-catching typography. It can get noisy during rush hour since it's kind of a small place but it doesn't take away from the food so I say it doesn't matter haha! Oh and props to all the friendly waiters. I don't know for the life of me how they memorize all the "choose your own" orders and repeat it back to you without blinking or writing it down!

Plus, who doesn't love Bacon? Seriously. The place is small and cramped. There are a couple of high stools and three small tables under the "Long Live Bacon" sign. If you need to use the comfort room, you have to enter the secret room called ABV. It's a speakeasy and I will definitely talk about it more in another review. The food here is perfect for after a long night of drinking with friends. They offer a breakfast menu where you can customize your own plate. Want a bacon and egg sandwich made with 2 waffles? Go for it! But, in my opinion, the definite Must Try here are their Hotdogs! All their hotdogs are bacon-wrapped and deep fried! YUM! I recommend the Chili Dog (Php220) and the Kimchi Dog (Php190). Next time, I will have to try their Tater Bombs (bacon-wrapped potato tots)! But, it's always sold out when I arrive! Huhu! I can't wait to see what Lazy Bastard will "baconify" next! :D

I heard about hotdogs sold at Php 100 but never at these prices. My siblings and I decided to be adventurous and tried their hotdogs anyway. It was in Jupiter street and we found parking around the area. We saw their big sign that said "Bacon & Burgers this way". When I took a bite of their hotdog, I was enlightened. I tasted the hotdog sandwich's full potential. I experienced Lazy Bastard's BACON WRAPPED hotdog in a bun and topped with a load of toppings. I particularly found their Con carne and parmesan hotdog sandwich to be their bestest. On my next visit, I'm planning to try their AVOCADOG. On the other hand, I found their burger to be okay.

They don't just offer your regular run-of-the-mill cheeseburger. They have different kinds of interesting specialty burgers. Their bestseller is Kailua Burger which is basically a cheeseburger with Swiss cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms. Personally though, I like the Fire Burger. It had onion rings, bacon and the fire sauce which gave the burger a little spicy kick - just the way I like it. Also, the bun was super awesome and the new shoestring fries are addictive. Highly recommended. Go give it a try. And don't be afraid to go for the 9 oz. burger. It's not as big as the sample says it is. They have the pre-shrunk raw patty size on display. The patties aren't that thick.

It meant only one thing: Hawaiian food. In the Philippines. Oh my god. I must have it! Teddy's Kailua Burger is good if you like burgers with some awesome sauce beef, and I definitely recommend it. But to all my fellow non-burger-loving people out there, I ask that you try the Loco Moco or Western Loco Moco at Teddy's. Now you might be thinking, 'Loco Moco? What the heck is that? Will it turn me crazy?' Yes! Sort of. The Loco Moco is a modern Hawaiian dish with a sunny side up egg resting on top of a hamburger patty, which happens to lie over a bed of hot white rice, all slathered with their special gravy, and yes, it's amazingly simple. Slice through that egg and tender beef, mix the yolk with the sauce and the rice for a taste of paradise! And to take it up a notch, add bacon and onion rings with the Western Loco Moco. Either way, the Loco Moco is a mountain of awesome, like a burger without a bun and those pesky vegetables. Sorry, vegetables. Whether you're hankering for local Hawaiian food or simply curious about what something called a Loco Moco would taste like, Teddy's Bigger Burgers is the place to try it. Mahalo, Teddy's! (Four stars because their salmon poke isn't that good, though.)

Do those 2 things correctly and you're 95% on the way to a good burger. I mean, what did the burger ever do to you? Okay, enough of my ranting. I'm just happy to have stumbled across The Beef a few weeks ago. I've been to Hole in the Wall 2 or 3 times already yet I've never tried The Beef. It's an inconspicuous looking black and gray colored shop with a sign stating "The Beef" overhead. Maybe the reason I overlooked it the first few times I visited. Their menu is intriguing because it consists of only 3 items: burger, cheeseburger and fries. I went ahead and ordered a cheeseburger with fries and waited patiently. Little did I know what was waiting for me when I took my first bite into this burger. The burger is delicious and everything I look for in one: juicy, huge beef flavor and I particularly liked the salty, seared crust on the outside. The bun holding the burger appears to be brioche and is soft and spongy, which absorbs all the juices as you consume it. These 2 components alone make this possibly the best burger I've ever tried in Manila. The burger is also dressed with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles and other condiments which only enhance the experience. This thing literally had me daydreaming about it after my first visit and I kept bothering my girlfriend that we had to return and trust me, I will. Pros -One of the best, if not the best, burgers right now in the Metro. -Simple menu. Cons -Pricey. Burger and fries will set you back at least P350. -Fries are meh. Last but not least: Dill pickles on a burger? Yes. Raw cucumber and/or sweet pickles on a burger? NO, just NO. Just wanted to get that off my chest.
