Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the plethora of wines they offer. I went in not knowing much, but he recommended a few different wines on the list and described them, from there we each selected 4 wines to try for our flight. The wine experience was definitely the highlight, I would go back for that alone. The build your own charcuterie board was also a nice addition, I would definitely order the homemade ricotta again! My gal pal and I went for a girl lunch and yap on a Sunday afternoon. The waitress was really amazing. I had the pasta with shrimp and a white wine sauce and an espresso martini made with tequila. My pasta was not my favorite. The white wine sauce was sparse and the pasta was al dente on the outside of the plate but a soggy mess towards the middle. It may be from the initial pour of the white wine sauce. But overall it was unseasoned. I had two espresso martinis made with tequila and they were very delicious. I just want to preface this by saying I work in a restaurant as a server and I understand the challenges that come with restaurants and busy nights. I hate to be the person that complains and I always try to give restaurant staff the benefit of the doubt. That being said, the service we received was extremely unprofessional. My friends and I attended the restaurant on a Friday night for a birthday celebration. Our reservation was for 7:30, and we arrived a few minutes early. We were sat by 7:40 and got our orders in quite quickly, probably by 8:00 at the latest. We did not receive our food until 9:15. At one point during our wait, our server, Michael V, came over and said the kitchen was backed up and he apologized and offered us some burrata while we waited. The way this was phrased seemed as if we were getting the burrata for free as an apology for how long our food was taking. We were mistaken. He added the 3 burrata plates he brought us to the tab. When we expressed our confusion to him, he immediately caught an attitude and eventually, after some back and forth, said he would take 2 of them off of the bill. He sassily told us "split up it'll only be like 2 dollars on everyone's tab," as if that made it okay. We did not order this burrata. Eventually, our food came, and while it was okay, it was definitely not worth the price. One of my friends paid $35 for a salad barely filling half of her plate and 4 pieces of shrimp. For the price we paid, I would've expected much better service along with much better food. Again, I hate to be "that person" as I understand and can sympathize with the kitchen being backed up and your table being frustrated with you, but I'm quite disappointed in the service we received. read more

It was pretty crowded in here but it's pretty spacious and there is plenty of seating. We had reservations so we were able to be seated immediately and sat in what looks like a sunroom on the other side of the bar which had a nice view of the city. They have a lot of wine selections so we told them to choose our selections for us. You can get half pour glasses if you just want to try some which is what we did. We got cheese with it which was okay, I wish we decided to try one of the shareable instead (next time) but for entree I got a pasta and my husband got the trout. Both were yummy and reasonably priced so that you can spend your money on more wine! It was really nice until a group came and decided to crowd the bar area that were pretty much on top of us. Luckily we were almost done with dinner but had to switch our seats to the far side of the table to avoid being bumped. We wished our waitress addressed that. Every time I go to Sixty Vines, I'm always like dang I reallly like this spot. Guess I've never been during warm season because I always comment that I bet it's comfy sitting outside. My bestie and I were originally headed to Culinary Dropout for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. Im we both have dinner at Culinary before so I suggested we try something new. When we walked in we were greeted by the most amazing aroma of a rosemary candle! It was divine! When we approached the host stand and advised we did not have reservations- we were told no problem and immediately seated. Our wait staff took about 10 minutes to come over to our table and greet us. She had a great disposition. She asked us our water preference. We asked hr a few questions about the menu options. Several of the menu options were sold out. I assume they make a certain amount daily and once it's gone- it's gone. I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk, and the bagel board. It is essentially a deconstructed lox bagel. My bestie ordered the gin and juice cocktail and a pizza that had eggs on it. The drinks and food came out quickly. My bagel was good- but I mean how can you mess up a lox bagel?? However, I really enjoyed my friend's pizza. The addition of the eggs was a nice touch. She also noted that her drink was perfect. The ambience of this spot is stellar. I love the decor, and the aromas . I also think a requirement for a job is you have to be physically attractive. The flavor of the salmon was fine but it was cold and the brussel sprouts it was served with lacked any seasoning. Don't come here hungry. Food was good but waiting 30min for drink was frustrating. Restaurant was maybe 1/3 filled and watching everyone around us get all their drinks and food while we sat there was upsetting. First time I ever felt like walking out. Waiter offered us a shot when I asked for the check so one would assume this would be on the house since we waited forever for our drinks and we said no to more drinks. Loved the outdoor atmosphere when I ate here with my friends. I ordered the fried chicken and caviar and the shishito peppers to share with my boyfriend. The fried chicken wasn't our favorite -- it tasted too sweet and like there was too much batter for our preferences, but we're glad we gave it a try. I preferred the shishito peppers since they had a bit of a kick to it! Also, I'd recommend ordering the frozen Aperol spritz. I'm looking forward to trying more dishes on their menu. So there are several reasons I give this restaurant my 5-star rating! The food! Spectacular with an array of cuisines to choose from. I recently moved to Charlotte, and sooooo many people mentioned that I needed to go to Sixty Vines. It had been on my favorites for a while but finally my friend had a birthday dinner there. As soon as I walked in, I was obsessed. The atmosphere is just beautiful, spacious, chic, modern, and clean. Great spot for a date, and occasion, a group celebration, or a gals get together. I honestly could have eaten any of their pasta dishes or any of the desserts listed. It was hard for us to choose what we wanted but we all enjoyed what we ordered, which was all pasta. I will say, the portions are not humongous, and I was a little bit hungry having just had one dish. I'm not a wine drinker, so unfortunately I can't comment on that, but I can't imagine that there's anything negative to say about that. Our server was also very nice, so no complaints there. Great small plates, crispy Brussels, wood fired shrimp, Burrata, mussels , shishito peppers, zucchini fries and the mushroom and leek fromage. All so good the mussels were super meaty and the fromage nice and creamy. The desserts also a bit hit. The deviled good affagato, sticky toffee cake and the basque cheesecake. All amazingly good . The affagato being my fave. Nice chocolate and espresso balance . We had a great time and was a great place for a group event. They validate parking for the lot next to the restaurant! I actually visited on Wednesday but was so busy enjoying the company I was with and the atmosphere- I neglected to check in! There were 5 in our party and we sat at the bar which was huge. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and nicely lit. The menu has a range of foods and even shareable items. We started with the chicken and caviar which at first read sounds like an odd pairing but it was very tasty. We had 2 orders since it was so good. For my dinner I had the CRESTE DI GALLO with shrimp instead of the roasted chicken and it was amazing! I'm always hesitant to order pasta dishes out because I like heavy garlic and this has the perfect amount. But the frose! It is a must. It's beautiful, well made and just perfection. This place was great. Has excellent food, amazing indoor and our ambiance and great service. We are here for brunch. So with that I'll start with the mimosas. The wait staff will pour the champagne, prosecco, cava, etc and then you take it to the bar where you can mix with fruits and juices if your chose. The food was great. We had the the fig and prosciutto pizza. So good and the crust was almost a warm loaf of bread. Very good. The burger was juicy and so flavorful. The pork chop also was extremely juicy and had great seasoning. The pastas are made fresh and good to perfection. Atmosphere is attractive but extremely loud. Don't plan on conversing with people across the table. The place is large and I was there on a Sat evening, so it was crowded. Kitchen couldn't keep up. Service was VERY slow. 20 mins just to get the glass of wine ordered and 30 to get food. Which brings me to food. Basically, it's very mediocre food, sloppily prepared, poorly cooked and anything but delicious. We tried the pizza - meh. We tried tuna crudo - not fresh so a little scary. Steak - literally burned. Friend chicken was okay but I e piece was pink inside so skipped it. Hamburger - one of the worst I've had in Charlotte but eatable, just not good at all - greasy, tasteless. Wait staff was friendly and got a full tip since none of this was their fault. Which brings me to price. Very expensive for what you get. Overpriced by Charlotte norms. The wines here are excellent, 60 to choose from, all on tap. The bartender was incredibly helpful in helping me pick what I wanted. I tried three different styles, a Cab Franc, a Sauvignon Blanc-Semillon blend and a Rosé. All were really great with complex flavor notes. The Sauvignon Blanc-Semillon was definitely my favorite.
