Fun in the sun! Phoenix needs more water parks, with our warm climate we can enjoy warm weather for many months! I hope our Hurricane Harbor isnt going anywhere! I was reading online that Six Flags was closing by 2027? I hope it's only certain locations! We came to Hurricane Harbor Phoenix the weekend before school starts for our first time and had a great time! I recommend coming right when they open. The day we came they opened at 1030 am. The lines weren't long at all. I did learn that we should have gone to the popular rides first because the lines got long in the afternoon at Big Kahuna, Mammoth falls and Serpentines/Typhoon Twister. The boys really loved the rainbow slide with the blue mat you lay on. We did this one a few times. The wait for the ride wasn't bad because 6 people can slide down at the same time. The wave pool was also very popular, we went here a few times as well. The big kahuna is a family fun ride! You sit in a huge raft that can fit large groups. We waited for maybe 35 min so this would also be one of the rides you should go to first when they open. I do appreciate all the misters that are attached on the railings at all the rides. This made waiting in line in the Arizona heat very bare-able! The only ride we didn't get to was Bahama Blaster, next time this will be one of the rides we go to once they open. I did not bring my younger son, who is 4, but now I know he will love the little kid rides at Coconut Bay and Splash Island! I can't wait to bring him, he will have so much fun! I took pictures of most of the food menus because prices have increased throughout the years. I was looking ahead of time to get a ball park of what food would cost but could not find updated prices. I was trying to decide if the food pass is worth it. We didn't have complaints about the food. My husband and my son's friend liked their burger and fries, my son and I liked the nachos. If your kids don't like jalapeños, you can ask for them on the side. The icee slushee drink is huge, the boys did not finish theirs. You could easily get one and have the kids split it. The park does have drinking fountains near the bathrooms if you need a quick sip of water while running around or you can go into the tidal wave cafe and get a water cup from the counter and get free water with ice at the soda station. They do offer a food pass which I might consider for next season! Not a bad deal! last time we went was 5 yrs ago. this year we got the annual gold pass, free entry to other Six flags and Knotts! which is y i got it.Staycation especially if u have young kids. my 5 n 11 loved it. the restrooms were clean, the huge pool at the end was empty only us and a few families, more people showed up about 1pm but not crowded. I dont know if its cuz its no officially summmer yet. Some food s very expensive like 1 slice of pizza for $16. So eat before u go or after, snacks are good for the price. I would like to take my kids 2 days a week in the summer. Really enjoyed it and i dont leave good reviews on yelp, ‍ but i had to mention cuz i was happy and so was my kids. read more

But I was pleasantly surprised that there were multiple staff, the grounds were clean, and there was more than enough tubes available for usage. This is the worst amusement park on the planet !!!! My daughter purchased a season family pass. The first time she entered the park, she knew there were problems. Only half of the rides were staffed and operating. The food at the snack bars was cold. The restrooms were dirty. Trash cans throughout the park were overflowing. When she tried to get a refund, they refused. She filed a claim with her credit card company (VISA). It took many emails and phone calls before she succeeded in getting a refund. If you like a filthy amusement park with long lines for the rides, this is the place for you !!!!!! read more

So much better when it was Wet n Wild. Not well maintained and very understaffed. Six Flags came in and increased prices for everything but decreased the available tubes (so you'd have to pay for a rental) and portion sizes for food. I used to go to that place all the time back when I was 14 and same with when I was in elementary school when it was called Wet N Wild/Waterworld. It was awesome then but surprisingly when I was there back in 2023, only two of the rides was in order. Tickets are overpriced, and the food was overpriced and prison/school lunch quality. Well, despite being unsure we would renew our membership, we did so as we also frequent Magic Mountain in CA. So yesterday we decided to visit hurricane harbor for the first time this summer. What a DRASTIC change from last year. First off, parking is now free for everyone, not just those with a pass. Secondly, the whole park seemed well kept and refreshed. I am wondering if this is because Six Flags has merged with Cedar Entertainment (the big boys in the amusement park industry). Whatever the reason, we were so happy to see the inner tubes/floats well stocked at each ride. Part of that may be it being a weekday, but it still was SO much better than last year. We are definitely going to visit several times this summer, after seeing all the improvements they've made. Oh and one other thing-they actually had all the misters running for the ride lines...this is so incredibly helpful to prevent overheating. They hadn't been running at all last year (at least not for the several times we visited). I feel that's an absolute necessity in AZ. Well done six flags. This place was so fun! Whenever we are home for the summers in Arizona (our second home) this is our go to spot for cooling off and water park fun! Been taking my kid since she was 2 and she's 6 currently. To Save money I would indefinitely purchase the season passes and parking. Food was pretty pricey and mediocre. I thought we would save money, not having the service charge by purchasing a ticket at the gate. My daughters went instead of being a little over 100 it was $130 for just two of them. They're both minors. If you're gonna purchase a ticket, do it online Even though you may pay a service charge they rape you at the door. I don't know that I'd send them again too pricey, and then it gets worse. I just find out that the only couple they would seller is $36 because they were out of the smaller cups and she wanted refillable one this place is such a rip off. I will never let my girls go there again. They said they didn't have the $20 refillable cup. She could only get the $36 ones. The girls spent over $200 for a very little food and the day this is worse than Disneyland. just reviewed her credit card. It came out to $264 plus for the two of them. this is insane. read more

Was nervous about going due to horrible reviews. Honestly we had fun and didn't come across any issues. There was a group of younger side of teen boys trying to cut the line but I told them nope they ended up a group or two behind us so I let this really nice lifeguard know and he kicked them to the very end of the line and everyone clapped. We came here on a Monday. Got there about 30 minutes after opening. There was a small line to enter but once they got more staff to man the entrance it went pretty quick. Once inside there were still chairs available. It does seem to get much busier in the afternoon so there might not be chairs available anymore at that point. Also, chairs in the shade are limited. Overall the lines weren't terrible. Some slides had a 5-10 minute wait while others were a bit longer. I think the most we waited was 40 minutes. We were able to ride all the slides that were open (I think 2 were closed for the day). The lazy River did end up closing in the afternoon due to a staffing shortage. I cannot comment on the food service as I have food allergies and brought in my own food. Next time I may consider renting a tube as that seems to be where most of the wait is. Once you get a tube the line at the actual slides aren't that long. Also, there are only about 5 tubes available for the lazy river. If you don't rent a tube you have to hope to be lucky to find one that someone is done with or you just walk the lazy river. I imagine they did this to avoid a huge amount of tubes blocking up the lazy river. I suppose there are pluses and minuses to this. We got the summer weekday pass and enjoyed our time here so we'll definitely be back! read more

TL;DR Six Flags is continuing the tradition of Arizona water parks by inflating prices, cutting staff, neglecting slide maintenance, and squeezing every last penny out of the guest. Until they at the very LEAST have all the attractions operational, this will be a 1 star. Pricing: Hurricane Harbor has really mastered the art of separating money from the consumer. As soon as you enter the parking lot you are met with a $20 charge JUST for parking. Next, tickets. I only tend to visit the park towards the end of the season so I do get discounted tickets. I also purchase these online, in advance. However, even when purchasing tickets online you are subjected to an unavoidable $9.99 "processing fee". Overall, this place is just a money pit, be prepared to spend close to $75 per person for a visit under normal circumstances. Food: Food is extremely expensive for what it is. Frozen tenders and fries being heated up in oil. Drinks are equally pricey with a small being 7.30 and a large being 7.80. I'm sure you can figure out why they are priced like that. Taste is pretty mediocre, nothing great but nothing upsetting Rides: The rides (when they work) are very exciting and fun. Unfortunately, when we went Mammoth Falls was not open, the lazy river only had a total of 10 tubes, so you're either at the mercy of kids on their 7th lap or you dish out the 10 dollars for a rental tube. The wave pool for some reason has less water than normal, you can see the water line on the wall. The rope was pushed closer to the entrance so there is less room, and the waves are pretty pathetic. read more

Has an executive from six flags ever visited this location? It's run down, slides are rusty, not enough employees are working to direct the flow of people riding slides. Price gouging galore. 27 Parking, ticket 35, and 20 bucks for a medium locker. Not to mention ball park prices concessions. We loved the rides, but very few tubes available and we went on a Thursday in July. It was actually ridiculous how long we waited, an odd amount of time between people going down the slides. It was decently clean, food way overpriced- moreso than typical at yhis type of venue. Our 6yr old is 44" and we always waited in line before someone would measure her and refuse her for a 48" ride. Don't buy the season pass. They randomly close the park for weeks and when they r open they are only open during the busiest hours making it impossible to enjoy all the rides. They also always have at least 2 slides closed when open. So the season pass or even just a daily pass is a waste of fucking money. Dirty and run down! Just left with my daughter and we have been going for years but today was just unacceptable. Looks like last nights crew didn't clean up. The garage cans were overfilled and this was at opening hour 10:30 am. Went to the lazy river there was a sock a shirt and a new tampon floating. It was beyond disgusting. The tidal wave cafe floors were dirty not swept or mopped. The floors under the lounge chairs had yesterday trash and sticky ice creams or drinks spills. HH needs to hire an outside cleaning crew at night and power wash the floors and those bathrooms. It's disgusting smell like urine. Oh and the lazy river if you look at the vent areas it's just filled with trashed it's so full the suction pump isn't working. And with the scare of electrocution lately with water leaving a water light just hanging on the side is danger hazard for anyone. read more

Like all of you I read the reviews and thought to myself, could the park be that bad? We drove over an hr to get there in hopes that it would be worth it. I am sad to say it was not. Things to know when planning your trip. Get water shoes, rent the orange tubes ( you can take them down a lot of slide without waiting for the tubes that are for the ride), rent a chair so you and your family have a meeting spot. What to expect : long lines, run down and expensive! My husband and I decided we would let the kids (teens) go off on their own while we did the lazy river. Half of the sprayers on the river don't work. The wave pool makes very small waves unless you are right up front on the left hand side you wouldn't know you were in a wave pool. They need to close the park for a month or two and revamp the place. Plan to go during the week. We went on a Saturday morning that could have been why the wait times for rides were so long. A lifeguard named Rachel gave some girls a lot of attitude at the top of the big kahuna and mammoth falls at around 12:50 pm because one of them didnt want to ride with a random group. The wave pool (you know the whole reason that people go there).. is broken. Apparently...all the workers say, It's been broken apparently for years! The Cabana that we paid for had no working ceiling fan! DIRTY!!! STicky stuff all over the furniture, cant you wash it down with a hose every now and then? The Lazy River was broken. This was a pleasant find during our trip to Phoenix for my daughter's birthday. Having lived in Arizona when I was younger, this park was not around so it was exciting to go, even as an adult. After a little driving out to what feels like the edge of no-where we were excited to see the tall slides above the surrounding homes. Upon arrival the line waiting to get in was not long and moved quickly once the gates opened. We quickly found the lockers and went out to adventure. We found there to be a nice variety of slides and smaller pools but several were closed. I'd say 60% open, the rest closed. This caused some disappointment but we quickly learned why they were closed. The water was still pretty cold as it's early in the season. This did not stop myself or my fearless 4 year old. We found s few open slides and made the best of a couple hours of the day. All the interactions with the staff were great and they were very helpful and friendly. After a few slides we decided to give the wave pool a go and were very disappointed. The wave pool only appears to actually create waves at the very corner of one side and not across the whole pool. This made it very uneventful but we decided to swim a bit anyways. After a short time it just became too cold in the water to spend much time in it, even with it being 90 degrees outside. We decided it was time to go and re-visit later in the season when the water warms. Short version: Overall great experience with staff and venue but it seems as almost of the attractions were closed and the water was too cold. Will return. read more

It was awesome to have the waterpark opened back up. I think staff was a little undertrained, the reservation system was a total flop, and the park isn't really ready for the masses yet. The temperature reader walk through is very high tech and cool, A+ for that. The locker area is filled to the max with people everywhere. The eating lines are close still. And on a side note, as Diamond Elite Members we were really confused how the general public was sitting in the Diamond reserved sections and the Hassiandas in that area being sold and filled with non members before we had a chance to get one. The lines for the rides were still very packed and the kids running the lines were not very helpful. Lazy river was pretty nice and the flow was good. You only get one lap though. My child works at Hurricane Harbor and the horror stories I hear is absolutely outrageous. The thing that gets me the most is the things that they think are acceptable for example, last week they were short on lifeguards and pulled workers from the kitchen to work as lifeguards!! KIDS THAT DON'T HAVE CPR TRAINING OR ANY TRAINING AS A LIFEGUARD and they were forced to work as a fill in lifeguard WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IN THE CASE OF A DROWNING?! I told my child that if they ever try to force them to be a fill in lifeguard that I want them to walk off the job right then and there. I cannot fathom putting someone else's life in my child's hands when they don't have the proper training. They should be ashamed of themselves for thinking something of this nature is okay. There is no communication between management and workers. They are allowing certain employees to leave work without completing all of their work and forcing the employees that are left to do all the work that's left, work that should have been shared between employees. If there is a mess up in the kitchen they are being told that if another mess up happens EVERYONE in the kitchen will be getting a write up. Yet they didn't properly train anyone and expect there to be no mess ups, when majority of the employees are kids and this is their first time job. One shift they will allow employees to do certain things like eat for free while on shift or whatever else and then the next shift they're doing what they've been told was allowable only to be yelled at that if they do that again they will be written up. This establishment is a nightmare and I would steer clear as a customer & those wanting to apply. read more

Visited hurricane harbor today for my first time, park does have potential if six flags invested in park maintenance and safty issues, I'm a professional steel welder and you can see broken welding on hand rail, stairs rusting out underneath, cracked concrete that holds structural column to the stairs of the water towers broken, water leaking out of slides wasting water, there just a lot wrong that could potentially hurt someone, definitely a concern and they definitely should fix thing up, why even buy the park if ur not going to maintain the equipment. Or even have enough tubes for customer to go on slides. This place definitely has potential, but the owners of this place are not good maintaining the park condition more like out of sight out of mine until something happens. Plz know the risk of taking ur kids, the steel is not in good condition just look up when ur going on the slides, especially for galvanized steel. read more

Knew about Hurricane Harbor, but never took the grandkids because I am not a big fan of the six flag chain. Also after reading all the bad reviews decided to go with a open mind. Let me start of by saying we spent around 400 bucks for tickets, parking, meal passes, and private lounge chairs for 5 people. This with cheaper than if we gone to the other water park in our area. All the complaints I read were about the long lines and rides not working. We went on Labor Day weekend and all but 3 rides were open. The wave pool was open but no waves. When I asked why there were no waves. I was told they were short staffed with lifeguard and to have the waves going would be a safety issue. I can respect that. All the staff that we came in contact with were nice and professional. I recommend getting there early as the lines and wait times for rides get longer as any water park/theme park. We spent about 7 hours and our grandkids were able to ride every ride multiple times. My only complaint is the line get food took forever because they only had 2 cashier working the registers. The other complaint is our grandkids left their food on the lounge chairs which attracted ants. We enjoyed this park so much we bought seasons passes which are good for this park and all six flags in the US. It also includes free parking. Growing up in California and going to water parks and theme parks. This park not bad. it not a Raging Waters but with time I'm sure Six Flags will build it up as they only owed it for about 3 years. read more

It's getting better - I'm a member of six flags parks and it's not horrible but they have a lot of work before they get to the status of other water parks within the chain. We use the meal pass and they glitch all the time - they often utilize my meal without the food being processed . The bathrooms need more attention.. Overall it's a good day for AZ summer but they need to work out the bugs.... Also they need to open up all the different food places. Having spot after spot closed shows the poor staffing and attention to detail. Hopefully someday this will mimic the other six flag parks... read more

Rides are fun, lazy river was great, staff was plenty kind. All our kids had a ton of fun. I was a bit nervous given all the negative reviews but I thought the place exceeded our expecatations. What a S-hole. Last time I was here was when I was high school, close to where it was first open. Looks like not a single upgrade or repair has been done to the park since that day. Where do I even start with this place. Parking was an extra $21. I looked all over the website to find info on the cost, and after looking for a good time, assumed it was free. That was irritating but, fine. First thoughts walking in. Not a single stand-alone concession stand was open, Indian Fry Bread, Italian Ice, pretzels, etc. I thought it was because we got there early. Nope, they never opened. Approximately 50% of the parks attractions were close. This included one of the major water slides being totally closed, with many of the other slides having one or more of their slides closed. The lazy river to green and close. The wave pool broke several times and the eventually closed the entire pool. We never actually saw waves in it the whole time we were there. With half of the rides, lazy river and pool all closed, the people that were there all packed a few rides that were open. We waited almost 45 minutes for a 10 second ride. We then noticed why. The ride has two slides that require a large, 4-6 person tube that has a conveyor belt that takes it to the top. ONLY ONE TUBE WAS OPERATIONAL. That means that about every 4 minutes 2-4 people got to go down before waiting again. Just stupid. The park is disgusting, overall. It's dirty. Several slides leak so much that there are knee deep (to kids) brown puddles where you can't even see you feet and you have to stand in that water for a few minutes. The only thing dirtier than the park are the mouths of those that visit. The visitors here are of a certain economic status, and the behavior of people show. I had to alert staff two time of ground dropping F-bombs, c-words and getting into heat verbal arguments before a fight. Staff did nothing. If you want to go to a nice, clean park, visit the JW Marriot a few miles away. After one hour my 10-year-old was ready to leave. We looked for a manager to complain. A staff member said she would get one. It was 1pm and 113 outside. We waited for twenty minutes and nobody every came to talk with us. We finally left and I wrote an email to the corporation. My husband and I Purchased season passes online this Afternoon and then went to the park shortly after ... we took our one year old and we were extremely disappointed with the unsafe conditions of the toddler / young child area. The first and biggest concern is that the whole kiddie area needs to be drained, sanded and repainted... the amount of paint chips floating around the water is extremely concerning because it hasn't had proper maintenance ... I'm sure that the paint is extremely toxic especially when there are hundreds , if not thousands, of visible paint chips floating around the water and I'm sure that some children swallow this water when they fall / play. The sunshade over the area is ripped and four of the water activities in the toddler area are not functioning and a lifeguard on duty told us that he's worked there for a few years and they've never worked to his knowledge... So if this is the kind of care that has been put into the infant toddler and young child area, I don't even wanna think about the maintenance on the rest of the park My husband and I went to the kiddie area ... spent about 20 minutes and then left because we felt it was unsafe for our son. For the most part I am unaware of the state of the rest of the park, such as the slides and wave pool because we did not take our son there due to his age and our concern of safety with paint chips in the water and broken equipment. I was really excited about Six Flags taking over the waterpark and excited to take our son there over the summer... in addition, I own a daycare, and was hoping to suggest this as a place for my clients to bring their children over the summer as an activity... but now I am going to suggest that they do NOT bring their children here because I'm extremely disappointed that they haven't put in the effort to make the kiddie area safe and functional. So as a child care provider that Has to uphold health & safety standards I would not recommend this park for young children in its current state. read more
