6 course tasting menu...I wish I remembered to take more pictures since all the dishes looked so good! During the time I went, they showcased their "Miami to Ibiza" menu. The courses served were all quite good, with ample portions to fill the stomach moderately by the end of the meal. The courses featured steak, pork, and sea bass-- all done in ways to incorporate the Miami to Ibiza theme. For the amount they charge for the meal, I I think it was well worth it. The waitress was very kind and patient in explaining the ingredients used for each dish.

Outstanding! Love the concept, love the Sicilian theme, service was amazing and on the ball throughout and more importantly the food was 10/10, it's a bit pricey but it's amazingly good value for money. I can't fault this place one bit!

Since we haven't been able to dine out and review any restaurants over the last month, we found ourselves looking for something a little different to satisfy our foodie cravings! Luckily for us, we discovered the newly launched Six by Nico Masterclasses! Each week a selection of recipes are added to the Six by Nico website where you'll be able to choose two and build your own box containing two portions of each. The boxes will contain all the necessary ingredients to create both dishes, a recipe card which includes a private website link to Nico's masterclass video, and a complimentary half bottle of wine to accompany each dish. We decided to go for the Roasted Cod and Chermoula Chicken. At first glance, £60 for a box may seem like a little bit of a stretch, but you soon realise how much value for money it is, as not only are you able to create 4 restaurant standard dishes, but you gain valuable cooking skills and techniques from one of the UK's top chefs (also, if you're like us, you'll still have a few spare ingredients left to make similar dishes later in the week!). Although the instructional video does give you a great tutorial, for less experienced chefs like us, the recipe card gives you more context to the techniques involved in creating the perfect culinary masterpiece. To make sure you get the most out of this experience, we would highly recommend watching the full masterclass video and reading the recipe card in full before getting started! We look forward to trying this again, both dishes were delicious. To read our full review, please visit our blog: https://www.sandlblog.com/post/six-by-nico-masterclasses

I had lasagna and my friend had a chicken dish. Both were full of flavor. Then we decided to treat ourselves to dessert since they are famous fir their gelato. Wow! Dessert was even better than the meal. Not sure when I will be back to Edinburgh but I will definitely return here if so.

I ordered the Haggis Ravioli as it was on my list of delicacies to eat in Edinburgh but the rest of our orders were the sweet stuff. We got the Affogato served with espresso in a moka pot which was a first time for us. The crepe and the chocolate caked served with gelato were even better. The main restaurant has Italian caricatures and murals which was a nice touch. The secondary dining area (The Hispaniola) had feels of a Spanish pirate ship which was odd for an Italian themed restaurant. The latter was the site of the Rutherford's Bar (1834-2007) frequented by famous clientele and then was transformed into a Treasure Island themed restaurant. Food was really good. I'll even come back when in Edinburgh. Service could use a little work though.

We tried on our first week in Edinburgh and failed, but were able to make reservations 3 weeks out for our last night in Scotland, and we are glad we did. Pork cracklins were a bit hard and crunchy, but everything else was perfect. We had fresh bread and langostinis for starters, along with a smokey whiskey cocktail, the Smoked Indiscretion! For mains we enjoyed the poached Cod, and the Pork with Barley. Service was very good, and wine selection was extensive. Atmosphere was loud with music and locals' chatter in the bar below, but dark tables and heavy wood panels made it a perfect place for a couple celebrating 3 weeks of travel. Highly recommend a visit to the Devil's Advocate, if you can book a table in advance.

But they call these lessons, "character building," apparently. No matter, the Devil's Advocate is worth the search. Located in an old Victorian pump house halfway up (or down) Advocate's Close, the Devil's Advocate is known for a killer whisky shelf of more than 300 different bottles from various distilleries across the Highlands, Lowlands, Speyside, Campbelltown, the Islands, and Islay. I finally sipped on a 15-year Tamdu that has convinced me to keep a bottle at home. Then there's the Clydeside 2024 Limited Edition Cask Strength that was wicked impressive. The bartenders are class at making and serving seasonal and regular cocktails that have their spin and character. My wife enjoyed gin-based cocktails such as the Clean Slate (with St-Germain, citrus, and sugar), Rose Garden (with Yellow Chartreuse, Cocchi Rosa, apple, lemon, and mint), and Bee's Knees (honey and lemon). I went full speed ahead with the scotch cocktails, which are essentially classics with a scotch-substituted twist. The Double Shot is an Espresso Martini with Dalmore 12 in addition to Kahlua, espresso, and demerara -- quite smooth without being too sweet. The Scotzia is a Negroni with Fettercairn 12, while the Boxcar is a Sidecar only with Aberfeldy 12. We enjoyed the bar for a few hours, watching the bartenders make magic while sipping on cocktails, while listening to 80s pop tunes. A great evening indeed.
