Dump! Nasty and over priced. Their service is horrible. They use low quality product and charge a very high price.

What a great experience sitting at the bar for dinner…read more I was quickly greeted and got my drink order taken care of. I ordered a two piece white with slaw and greens. Awesome flavor! The staff let me sample the potato salad which was amazing. Was told the story about the lady that makes the pies and had a slice of pecan. Very good. I recommend you give them a try, because I will be back on my next visit to downtown. Enjoy!

While I admire their aspiration, the fact that I and many others didn't even get to try their self proclaimed world famous chicken makes that lofty goal pretty impossible to attain. What I mean by that is their service and kitchen are so extremely slow that they are constantly turning customers away. On a trip to Atlanta, I visited the restaurant with a party of 5. We seated ourselves because the sign told us to do so. But for more than 20 minutes we were ignored. I had to grab menus myself and had the greatest difficulty flagging down a server. When I was finally able to flag someone down to take orders, they said the food will be a 40-60min wait. First impression of this place is horrible, floors are sticky and a part of the table was not properly cleaned off with chicken batter crumbs still present. The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived, but the lack of service and care is totally unforgivable. I heard from a friend after the fact, who came by the restaurant earlier that same evening, that the situation was similar at that point. At that point the restaurant was pretty empty, and they said the estimated food wait time was more or less the same as what we were told. We left right after without trying the chicken. And so did my friend who tried visiting earlier in the evening. World famous? Not quite.

I started my last Yelp review in 2016 of the famed Varsity in Atlanta by saying "What can you say…read moreabout an Atlanta institution that has been in business for more than nine decades?" The answer now, as then, is "What'll ya have?"? Of course you have to get a couple of hot dogs with chili and cole slaw, with a side of fresh chopped onions and some mustard to add to the heart burn. Some onion rings, and a Frosted Orange (ust get one, it's big enough to share with your spouse or sweetheart.) The Varsity claims to be the largest drive-in in the country, if not the world. Maybe it is. It covers two city blocks, seats 800 inside and has space for hundreds of cars. It now has eight locations around Georgia, some of them spic 'n span new, but my heart will always be on North Street in Atlanta, where the restaurant had its start in 1928. Some things have changed. Prices are up. The people that take your order seem a little more patient. And no longer are there special lines for women (and the Athens location, now closed} doesn't have to 'splain anymore why women aren't allowed inside.

You'll need to add some salt, but they're not bad. The rest of the food was awful. AWFUL. The frozen orange tastes like medicine. The chili dog was overcooked. And the chili hamburger is an abomination that should not exist. Think a combination of a crappy hamburger and the worst sloppy joe you've ever had. I just assume this place has to be trading off a nostalgia. The service was slow to the point of indifferent. Many of the tables are dirty. But, it's huge enough that you'll probably be able to find a clean table. What'll ya have? How about some syrup of ipecac.

So sweet, kind, friendly and efficient -- very understanding that we could only make a reservation up to 10 people on Open Table and now had more than that. She set us up at 2 high-tops in the bar and was able to slightly decrease the music volume so we could chat. I had the SoCal bowl and it was really good and a MUCH-needed healthy meal in the health desert that is Downtown ATL. The second time, we were seated in the front part and our server was just OK. I had a kale and mushroom quesadilla and my dining companion had a bowl. We both enjoyed our meals and the chips & salsa. Worth visiting when you're in the area.

If i did, I would be some bad ass grandpa still reviewing on Yelp at 118. This taco place named after a car is rather divisive from a review standpoint. On Google, crazy rave reviews, but on Yelp, mediocre would be an accurate description. By the time I ordered the food which was 9pm in the evening, I was just super hangry. Aside from an early breakfast, all I had all day was a donut and an ice latte. So whatever food that comes my way should be super delicious, right? The takeout took awhile to come. And the flavours were lacklustre and unauthentic. The first tell would be the tortilla. They were definitely store bought and were not corn tortillas. They were also a bit dry and hard. I had the grilled mahi mahi. The fish was ok, but overcooked. The biggest problem was the lack of sauce. Adding some salsa would have been nice. They were also very lazy with the avocado. They just put a wedge at the top of the taco filling. So every time i held onto it to take a bite, the avocado pops out. The other taco was the low country boil which is essentially a grilled shrimp taco. A lot of the taco does not match the menu description. They were supposed to use a spicy ranch sauce, but it felt like a really weak ranch with zero spiciness. They loaded up the taco with corn, but most of the other stuff including peppers and tater tots are not noticeable. Tim Lizzy is to me one of a very long list of tourist traps in the downtown Atlanta area. I wouldn't waste my time and money here.
