We are so pleased with the work done by AR Landscape Design. We've lived in Miami for a long time…read moreand we're used to people talking big and working small. Not these guys. Everything they said they'd do, they did--and more. Our front and back yards went from bare ground with a broken fence to such a beautifully landscaped vista that cars regularly slow down to look at it. From the very first meeting, owner Alex Reyes incorporated what we wanted and gave us back many useful ideas about how to make both the front and back yards look appealing and inviting. His knowledge of plants and trees is extensive, but he goes beyond tree trimming and landscape design to make your whole green space beyond attractive. He's more like an outdoor contractor with a terrific eye and great connections. Beyond the shaping of overgrown trees and plantings of palms, a butterfly garden, fruit trees, and the installation of an entire new lawn and hedges, he helped us with fence gates, screens for our porch, and designs for our driveway, walkways, and pool patio. He also procured both the materials and installers for them. His crew, who showed up every day bright and early, carried them out exactly as he said they would. In fact, they never looked like they took a break. They even hung a swing, birdcages, and an outdoor television for us. They're completely willing to do anything you ask and help you any way that they can, and if something goes the slightest bit wrong (or Alex just doesn't like the way it looks) they come back to fix it. We can't recommend them highly enough.

The place is run by Glenn Hilton and Lourdes Arnaez, a husband-and-wife team with over 35 years of experience in bonsai. Glenn, who is also the president of the Bonsai Society of Miami, brings a wealth of knowledge, and it's clear that both he and Lourdes are truly passionate about what they do. First time I visited this place, I appreciated time that Glenn spent with me showing me around and explaining what their specialty along with one of the best things they offer is their Saturday morning bonsai classes. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, these classes give you the chance to work on your own plants or practice on ones they provide. I have five Desert Rose plants that are 3 to 10 years old, and while I've watched countless YouTube videos on how to repot them as bonsai, I didn't want to take any chances and risk losing them. The class was the perfect way to get hands-on experience with expert guidance. If you enjoy gardening, have plants at home, or have ever been interested in bonsai, this is the place to go. The classes are also a great couples' activity learning something new together makes for a fun and unique experience. I'll definitely be coming back!

My landscaper informed me that what I had in fact purchased was Clusia Rosea, which is not what I wanted. This plant grows out of control and that is exactly what I was trying to avoid. I called them to see what they would be willing to do to correct this mistake, and was very rudely dismissed by the man in the phone saying they won't exchange anything and that "it wasn't going to happen." He said they only have one kind and the website was wrong. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else for your Clusia needs, because you will not be getting what you're expecting from this place.
