Got the royal princess treatment at Sitara Spa! Treated myself for Mother's Day. I am so happy with my hair! Made a consultation with Marie followed by a haircut. She gave me everything I wanted and more. She is so fun and thoughtful. The spa is clean and well maintained. Can't wait to try a massage. On top of it all, I was given flowers and chocolates for Mother's Day and a complimentary hand scub and massage. It smelled like heaven and made my hands so soft. We went here to get our hair done for my sisters wedding. The make up done by the lady they brought in looked amazing and completely worth the cost, my hair on the other hand was a whole different story. We wanted a braid with a side messy bun. My lady didn't know how to braid and needed to get the stylist wearing a face shield to do it. The bun was a train wreck. I got my hair done first, and while doing my makeup afterwards a couple bobby-pins fell out. While on the way back home I had 11 more pins randomly fall out in the car. By the time I got home most of the "bun" had fallen out and I had to have someone take it completely out and attempt to fix it. One other girl got her hair done by the same lady. She had the exact same experience... multiple bobby-pins falling out too, and had to find someone to help fix her hair. read more

Went for the first time since my favorite nail technicians (James and Kathy) just joined their location. Nice and relaxing. Kathy did an amazing job as usual. Since I was had extra time I asked if they had time for a hair cut as well. I got in last minute with Breezey. She did a fantastic job, listened to what I was wanting and made sure I was happy with it by blow drying it to show me what it actually looked like. I do wish there was a bit more time spend on shampooing (scalp massage always feels so good) but overall was a good value. read more

I started out extremely pleased with this salon. I had to change hairdresser because of a leave and I truly enjoyed the work and personality of the new person. Here is the problem, almost every time you call you get an answering machine. I have called and left 2 messages that have yet to be returned. This reflects on everyone in the business. It's sad because I didn't want to look for a different place. read more

It would be so helpful if there was a phone call the day before my appointment if theres a time change in your guys schedule. That's the only thing I rated so low, I didnt want to. I was very disappointed when I got the call saying I missed my appointment when I didnt even realized that you guys changed it. I'll come back again, sometime but not for awhile. read more

Went for a simple cut and style. Was left with mats the size of my fist because the lady did not know how to thin curly hair. My hair has been falling out in chunks for the last 24 hours and when I requested a simple refund so I could reinvest in some Rogaine, I was told to wait until Monday. What was once a head full of beautiful curls, is now wisps of straight hair that barely pass my shoulders. This salon has ruined my life. read more

Never going back to this place again! Terrible terrible quality of work. I went here to get my hair highlighted and instead I was overcharged a ridiculous amount and did not even come close to the look I wanted. Marie, the manager, took 3 days to properly give me any kind of response. Kept putting me off over and over till I told her I was parked outside and wanted to discuss it. Debbie, who did my hair, claimed that going from black hair to Carmel highlight was "impossible" yet she still went ahead and did it. Miscommunication between Debbie and Marie ruined my hair and left me dissatisfied with a huge bill. When I went in to discuss with Debbie, she argued that it's what she charges for her services because of the "education" she received. I am not sure what they taught her but it's definitely NOT what I asked for. I was not refunded a penny and all I got was an argument from Debbie. I will never go back to this place. Sitara Salon is my new go-to salon! My hair is normally highlighted and when I get the highlights done, it looks bright for maybe a day then it becomes drab and seems like they never put enough foils in. I really needed my hair colored because my roots were starting to show so I booked an appointment at Sitara. I told the hair dresser (Mackensea?) my problems with it never being bright enough. She did my highlights PERFECTLY. I work at a hotel and had many guests ask me where I get my highlights done. Excellent! read more

Let me preface this by saying that I absolutely do not recommend this salon in the slightest. I went in to get my hair dyed, and frankly, it couldn't have turned out any worse. I had asked for a gray color, and since I'm blonde naturally, that requires a bleach and tone. When my hair was bleached, the woman (I believe her name is Leah) didn't leave the bleach on anywhere near long enough for the golden/ red undertones to lift from my hair. In order to achieve a pure gray color, my hair should've been very near a platinum/ white color before she preceded. She then went on to tone my hair- rubbing toner into my roots first. When she had tried to tone 3 different times, I knew something was wrong. By the time she finished, the top half of my hair was PURPLE and the bottom half of my hair was a dingey blonde. Hands down the WORST experience I've had at a salon- I've been cautioning other girls to avoid going there at all costs. The total charge was around $200, and at first they wouldn't even give me my money back- until I called the manager, who then called the owner. Now, I have to wait 3 weeks to get the color I could've gotten in one day, because if I bleach my hair again, it might fall out. I went to jcp immediately after that, and their staff was incredibly helpful. The woman there made my hair an all over EVEN blonde color, that way I can actually walk around in public until I get the color I originally wanted. The woman's name at jcp is Nicole, and she completely calmed me down and took care of me. I'm so so grateful that she did such a good job. I'll be completing all of my follow up appointments with her. All in all, do NOT go to sitara unless you want anything other than a simple hair cut, unless you want to end up with purple hair. read more

The pay was nice ($8.50/hr or if your commision is higher then it is 50% commision) but the management made it NOT worth your time at all!! They always said they would do things for their employees but they never delivered at all. And they would always yell at you for taking a lunch break when you didnt have clients during your shift. not to mention always feeling like you are being watched like a hawk, The manager of the salon seems to blame things on her employees so it makes them look bad, not her. I think the only good thing about working here are the awesome coworkers and clients! A typical day of work consisted of a lot cleaning and trying to organize things to servicing clients. I'd say the hardest part of this job is getting harrassed at by management right as you walk into work when something didn't go right the night before or the morning before your shift (even if the issue didnt pertain to you). If you are receptioning you would be lucky to have money in the cash register ready to go when your shift starts. Then for stylists/aestheticians you would be lucky if the time went by quick when you are busy. Theres a lot of cleaning thats involved with this salon too. More cleaning than most salons.. which isnt bad but dont get your hopes up thinking that you're going to be doing services on clients right away. You have to bring in your own clients, they dont help you one bit like they say they do. The salon is one of the biggest ones in lacrosse/onalaska. They could use more stylist stations and maybe a bigger lobby area too. 90% of the time I was always confused on what was going on during the meetings that are held once a month. if you apply make sure you stick to a schedule that works best for YOU.. especially if you need a saturday off once a month. One thing that i did not like was the time off, not having a saturday off once a month or if you were sick and couldnt make it into work. it was always a big deal and she would complain about you calling into work to your coworkers behind your back. Like I said the best thing about working here are the coworkers, you'll have a bond like you've never had before with them. read more

Saw the most disrespectful customer service and it makes me sad that people like this exist. A young gentlemen was getting his hair cut when presumably the manager came over and had to readjust him in the chair, she was not gentle-did not talk to him before she did so and had a complete disregard for his personal space and preferences. On top of that the hairstylist who was cutting the individuals hair didn't ask for any assistance. The same person (again presumably the manager) went and spoke to the mother and told the mother (none too privately) that her son was too much of a "hassle" and shouldn't come back. On top of this another patron complained on social media about witnessing this experience, mentioned a comment their hair stylist made about how the situation could have been handled differently-that stylist was then let go despite having no control over what her client posts to their private social media. While I have no doubt in the services provided by the stylists themselves-the management leaves a lot to be desired. I only wonder how truly great this establishment could be if the leadership matched the compassion of the stylists. read more
