My go to go to go to.. I've been coming here for almost 1 year now and I love it. I come here almost on a daily basis to have breakfast for dinner or breakfast for breakfast. Check this out. Toast, jam, eggs how you want it, two pieces of bacon, hash browns, and an extra piece of ham or sausage for only 5 bucks and some change. I've ate at a lot of diners style places and this place has the best value, service and flavor for you dollar. When I'm not enjoying the Classic breakfast I like to make my own dish up. Ask for super fries if you want to share something heavy for 2 people. It's their Super Nachos toppings on top of a fresh bed of French Frys. $7 bucks and some change you can't beat it. read more

Have a Coors Light or a Bud Heavy if you wish, but I prefer to choose from the many craft beer offerings personally selected by Mr. Siri himself (the guy knows his beer!). For example, I had a Stone Mojay IPA the other day that blew my mind. It was so juicy and hoppy good that I would have gladly paid a king's ransom for it. This review is for the tiny snack place inside. I was surprised the cheap food was as good as it was, considering this isn't the best place in town. I ordered the cheeseburger + fries and a drink, and also the super nachos. My cheeseburger tasted as if it were made straight from my grill at home, and the fries that were supposed to be "small" we're actually a big order- not bad for an additional $1.75. The super nachos had good meat, and was also a larger amount for your dollar. Basically a cheap find with decent results. Only complaint I have is with like other places: not the best area to sit and eat. However, the food was good. read more

Any new business that opens up in crumbling, nearly haunted Downtown Reno is a blessing. Thus, Siri's Casino on Virginia Street could become the apple of one's eye after years of the overripe scene on the street's sometimes-seedy core slot-machine floors (I'm really tryin' here). Situated between The Nugget mini-casino (home of the Awful-Awful Burger) and Whitney Peak Hotel (the smoke- and gambling-free current incarnation of the late, lamented Fitzgerald's Casino & Hotel), Siri's is an updated hybrid of its casino neighbor and the grizzled Club Cal-Neva a half-block away. Siri's newness (opened last April 11 by Jeff Siri, also owner of Cal-Neva since 2012) makes it palpably attractive to enter and take a look around. Its decent slots, flat-screen TVs, bar and cheap eats just might keep you inside for longer than planned. The interior's decor--it's been called "tropical"--is new and brightly lit, with blue and cream-colored flourishes below the ceiling, unlike anything else around. The floor's configuration--slots in front, long bar, back diner--parallels The Nugget's. Similar to Cal-Neva is the greasy-spoon-style back snack bar that serves all-hours entrees, fun food and fried sides. The clientele might not be upscale, but it is noticeably the youngest crowd at a Downtown Virginia Street slot floor or casino bar. One of the bar's specialties is a 16-ounce, $3 daiquiri made with a nameless 151-proof rum and numerous flavors poured from Slurpee-like dispensers in any combination. The flavors are incidental because all you can really taste is the rum (yo-ho-ho!). No lodging or loyalty-club commitments to deter casino-hopping--just a no-frills, casual place to hang out and let time, and the world, pass by unnoticed. I just LOVE making bar bets with twenty something bartenders around town. And the dayshift bartender at Siri's was no exception. As I plop at the bar, I ask, "So where would I find the PRIMA DONNA?" He has no idea. But many years ago, THIS was the Prima Donna, Flamingo Hilton, Golden Phoenix an NOW SIRI'S. And after shift change, the swing bartendress is NOT so easily fooled. I thought I might have a "first to review"....no luck. I think it's great someone unboarded the windows of this once hotspot....but where the hell did the escalators go? Anyway, they have a good selection of craft beers (odd that would be rare on Virginia Street) and a full selection of slots. I might have stayed longer if they had a club card which I'm told is in the works. So I have a long chat with the very friendly (and fascinating history) security guard, Fernado about old Reno before dropping a few twenties at the bar. I like to think I'm observant and alert. but I should have detected the brass floor to ceiling pole was there for a reason. A the lovely bartendress, Jolee showed me what it's there for. I'm required to have her join the $ 2 bill club....Cherrie is not present, but she joined that club years ago as the day shift bartendress at the sky view bar at the Cal Neva. So Siri's has a diner in the back at it's going to take a lot of late night business from the Little Nugget. Sandwiches, Chicken & Waffles (going to have to try that), and grill fare. Siri's Casino is a great new addition to Downtown Reno. It isn't perfect and why would it be given it's the younger sibling to local favorite Cal Neva. When Siri's opened earlier this summer, I loved everything it offered: the $1 Coors Light pints, the new machines and the fact that Siri's didn't smell like 30 years of smoke and broken dreams. I didn't get much time to hang out Siri's but with three trips since their opening, I can finally give a fair assessment. Cal Neva is a great place. $1 Buds, $1 shots and cheap thrills. When Siri advertised Coors Light for $1, I was truly excited. A new place with my domestic beer of choice and right in the heart of downtown. On my most recent visit, Coors Light was no longer a buck but rather $2 for a 16oz yet Cal Neva offers Bud 24oz for $1. Neither myself or my +1 have any real luck on their machines, making me think their payout is very low. In addition to the gaming and drinks, Siri offers a food menu towards the back of the house. The menu has your standard bar fare: nachos, fries, hot dogs, chicken tenders, carne asada offerings as well as a breakfast menu. Given the low pricing and my gut instinct, I knew the food would be decent drunk food - nothing more, nothing less. On my most recent visit, my +1 and I watched the San Francisco Giants take on the St. Louis Cardinals in their sportsbook area. The viewing area is to the left of the bar and includes limited seating and three large screens. After a few innings, we were a bit hungry and ordered nachos, fries, and the carne asada tacos. Although the items looked decent on the menu board, the same can't be said once we received the food. The tortillas were cold, the meat was tough and was more beef jerky than carne asada. The nachos were passable with the fries being the best of the trio. Sure enough you can't complain when you're paying less than $10 for three items off a 24/7 kitchen. Siri's is a great spot to grab a drink and drop $10 in a machine. It's also a great place to catch a game with their large screens. Any future visits, I'll be saying clear of their food offerings and won't spend too much on their machines given their low payouts. With Siri becoming a staple with locals and visitors, I hope Siri can improve what makes Cal Neva a gem: its service and value and please, please have more than one bartender during peak hours. Ok, since my bud Jeremy wrote a review on Siri's below , he has inspired me to write one too. What I've noticed is this. First of all, it is my understanding that the owner of Siri's is the owner of the wonderful Cal Neva. Please excuse me if I'm wrong about that, but that's the way I think I heard it. This was kinda-sorta backed up when I saw on the menu they had the "El Gordo burrito," which to me is an all time classic bargain at Cal-Neva. But here's the catch (and again I may be wrong about this, if so, my apologies and I would welcome a correction, but this is pretty much how I seem to remember it). Instead of it being the "El Gordo" it's sort of more like the "El Gordo does the Twist." You know. like Chubby Checker. "C'mon baby. Let's do-ooh the Twist!" Yes. that's right. El Gordo. Checker. Anyway, what's the twist? Again, as I understand it, at Cal-Neva, I think the El Gordo is a two pound burrito at a skinny, classic, patented Cal-Neva Top Deck price of $4.99 (oh and don't forget the$1 beer!), but apparently the twist at Siri's is that (if I recall correctly) the "skinny" part is the burrito (it's only one pound), while the "Gordo" part is the price, $5.99 (again, sorry if this is not correct, I'm doing this by what I seem to remember). But it's great to see some competition on that block with a small casino. It's pretty nice in there, and one great thing I noticed was, after they opened, I was able to go into the Nugget late night and order an Awful Awful, at a time where for years before that it seemed like the restaurant would be closed. That made for an "AWESOME AWESOME" Improvement. Glad to see you back, Last Chance Joe buddy! Hee Haw! :) One other thing. I had a watermelon daquiri at their daquiri bar (loaded with flavors). And while it seemed kind of expensive ($3.00) it was terrific! Man I hope they keep that going ! While maybe the owner may be the same, it's definately different than the Cal Neva. But in a lot of ways that's a good thing (provided of course the Cal Neva never goes away!). read more

Awful customer service and kind of just a shady place to begin. I come here from time to time when I'm downtown late to grab a bite to eat or for a quick drink. I brought some friends here recently to show them the "alcoholic slushies" but we were denied entry because a member of our party had a vertical license (as opposed to a horizontal one). It's a valid license that is still good for another few years and states he is indeed 24, but they didn't care. Wouldn't let us speak to anyone in charge and basically said "it's policy, tough luck". Went here the like 2 days after it opened. It's a really small casino overall and has to be owned by the people who own cal neva. I kinda like the vibe here. It's basically like a newer cal neva. There is a grease joint in the back just like cal neva. Had 2 chilli dogs and fries and thought it was really good. I just wish they had a burger on the menu. There is a bar in the casino which stretches out through the whole casino wall. Like I said before, this casino is really small and probably has like 100 slots if that. You won't find tables here if you are a cards player. I kinda like this place. It's like a gucci version of Cal Neva. Minused 1 star for the food menu not being as good as Cal Nevas. I'm writing this review solely because of Gina, whom was our cook at the snack bar. It was my partner and I's first time in Reno and after realizing that basically all restaurants close at 10, we found ourselves at the snack bar. She was friendly, generous, and hellllla accommodating; the snack bar closed at 11 when a person came in around 10 minutes after closing and asked to place an order. She politely explained the closing situation and so he walked away when the manager on duty asked if she could put a burger and wings on the grill for him. She didn't say no but continued to turn back on the fryers and grill for the person. Upon us getting ready to leave, we overheard the individual continuing to place additional food requests to which she kindly accepted. You're amazing, Gina! I didn't go here to gamble. This place is a secret gem for late night "I'm drunk" good food that is cheap, decadent and fast. Head straight to the back of the casino and while it doesn't look too inviting, it's great. OMG was all I could say at a plate of Nachos that probably stood 8" tall, topped with TONS of good munchie stuff. Took it back to my room. Engorged myself and had nightmares with all of that food in my stomach! I'm smiling because I don't think there is one thing on that menu under 1,000 calories. not for Jenny Craig, and not for a granola eater. If you aren't either of those, you'll love it. read more

So, I have been coming to this place for its cheap delicious food at the little cafe in the back ever since i moved to Reno a couple years ago. I decided to stop by on a Hot August Nights night to go back and get some delicious food. This review is more about the people they choose to hire like this guy and how he needs to be fired now! There was a new line cook though and he was absolutely TERRIBLE! My bf and I were waiting in line for 10 minutes while we waiting for the guy to help us. There was a line and we were all getting frustrated. This guy comes and walked up in front of me and then the line cook came up to speak to him and I was a little offended, until I found out that that was the manager. The manager asked if the line cook even helped us and he said he hasn't yet because he was too busy. So he takes our order, finally, and I ordered the Italian beef sandwich and I asked for 2 Au Ju sauce and 2 ranch for my fries and he said ok. He then is taking other peoples orders and when he is done is he clicking his young and saying "man this is too much sh*t" and things along the lines as that. So basically we are waiting about 30 minutes for our food. while we are waiting, we gambled a little bit and hung out. We come back, our food isn't even done and the guys kids are running around the casino unsupervised! So we get my bfs food first and I notice he forgot to put our fries in and put it in a few minutes after he gave my bf his food. about 10 minutes later, I get my sandwich, and no Au Ju sauce. I ask the line cook for it and he said 'im all out! there is none in the store' and ive worked in food before and no way that was true. finally after fighting with him on it for 5 minutes he opens the cooler and they literally have a BUCKET of au ju sauce! like wtf! so he finally heats some up for me in a Styrofoam cup and it was too hot because it burnt my tongue. Then 5 minutes later he gives us the fries and there is no ranch. I ask for ranch and he said ok. his kid even says "hey dad shes asking for ranch" So I am waiting patiently for the ranch I requested almost an hour ago. Finally he picks up the bottle of ranch and says "I'm out, look at this", then started waving the bottle at me to show me he had none left.... even though i saw some in the cooler that he opened where the bucket of au ju sauce was. I come back up and ask for the ranch I asked for and he said " I said Im out." (clicks tongue) "you think im lying?" and quirts out half of a dipping sauce cup and basically wouldn't hand it to me and walked to the other end of the counter and dropped it in front of my bf. So after an hour of this crap, I am literally fed up and we speak to the manager who says he knows how terrible of a cook the guy was and that he wants to fire him, but he cant cuz he is all that they have, and then offered us free drinks on the house for the terrible service. He is the reason I am giving 2 stars, the on site manager at the time was very courteous and said they are looking for a replacement. So, yea... if you get that line cook, dont plan on getting your food for at least 30-45 mins with terrible service. read more

i was like why is this on my draft list.... then i remember the good times i had with wifey... . originally we were going to cal neva - but then i saw the hh list and specials by the front door, i was like umm lets check it out. When we got in, it was busy packed, so there was some waiting for the drinks. I believe it was 2 bucks for a pint of microbrew - add a 1 buck for a well shot of whiskey, tequila, gin and etc. Wait a min - micro brew for 2 bucks, yeah, you read that right. . wifey was like lets go and gamble some where - when i found the right price range with good quality, i know i am going no where til i am done - which gambling wasn't even on my mind no more because of this great deal. This hh is 7 days a week, if you happen to be in reno come stop by for a quick drink. . Overall it was a hidden gem that we walked by and went in, not even expecting this to be a great experience, but raving it all night to our friends about this spot. One thing we didn't like much about this spot was the bathrooms - they had it locked due to random bums going in, so if you need to use the restroom, go ask the bartender to buzz you in. I'm here at Zombie Crawl and this was the first place I stopped. The bartender with long black curly hair was very rude. I was waiting for $20 minutes to begin with and by the time she was even in my view, she served the guy next to me who had just walked up. I did tap my cup on the counter and she stated "if you slam your cup, I will not serve you". I told her that I was irritated because she was serving everyone else before me. She stated I should have gotten her attention, which in fact I already had. I left without her service and my husband and I will not be back. The 5 star is for the food in this casino. Jodi, the employee that cooks and serves the food there is wonderful! She does it all on her own and she's quick and the food was mmm mmm delicious! It was mine and my boyfriends first time here and we were in Reno to spend our anniversary weekend. And let me tell you, fancy expensive yet good food may be outweighed by the food at Siri's. If we knew about this place the first night we were there, I think we might have eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the whole weekend here. It's not only good food but also good drunchies food! Christina is without question the laziest and poorest bartender we've ever seen. When there were 3 other people at the bar it still took her 20 minutes just to look up from her phone to check in with anyone there. We didn't mind the homeless people begging for change in the bar. They might as well come inside because they are all lined up begging along the entire front door too. If you want to be completely ignored by the only people that can actually make you drink, this is your spot. read more
