After stopping by several places to see what their pizza look like I decided to order after seeing someone's eating a pizza in the store finally or other store had no pizza to should me or didn't sell by the slice But after notice on the menu that they were going to use provolone on the parm subs I called they back and requested mozzarella cheese instead the girl told me to wait as she asked one of the cooks she got back and said not all we have is provolone. I replied but what do you use for your pizza she said provolone at that point I had to cancel. the girl acted like she didn't even know what mozzarella is!!! Not impressed. I'd heard good things and my mom liked it (she chose it and had eaten there before), but I would only go back if a nephew or niece chose it. The atmosphere is not good - a few booths. You have to go up to the counter to order, pick up your own napkins and tiny plates, get your own drinks, etc. The 14" pizza (if you can call it that - the crust was thinner than the cardboard it was served on) and 3 fountain drinks were $18, which seems a lot when you consider the fact that it was less than half the crust of a normal pizza and you have to serve yourself. If you like super thin & crisp pizza cut into tiny little pieces, I guess it's worth picking up a pizza. I wouldn't eat there & didn't like the pizza. I hope not to ever return. There's just something about their pepperoni pizza, and I rarely ever order pepperoni on a pie (unless it's a supreme). Their slices are like a lovely salty potato chip... to the point where I could probably down an entire pizza if I tried. There are a couple of asterisks to best enjoy your experience here... 1.) Eat it fresh. Seriously, it degrades fast, but straight out of the oven it hits the spot, 2.) Eat it all. Don't reheat it as no oven can save it, and it's just not a pizza that heats back up well. Most recent price had the large 1 topping pizza at around $15+tax, which isn't unreasonable, but compared to some higher quality places it's a little on the high side. Last Sunday after visiting Pittsburgh, my partner's family and I stopped at this establishment in Wexford for lunch. It's a small place with a different kind of pizza. Since I live most of my life in the NY metro area, Sir is not anything like NY pizza. We ordered 2 pies one tomato white and the other with mushrooms. The pizza pies are cut from a different slice. Literally and figuratively, they are cut in squares even though they're round which makes them kind of unique. The pizza itself has a very interesting taste as the tomato sauce is more like tomato soup. The thin crust was nice and crispy just like finger food servings size. This was my sister's and I first time here........ my mother had been placed in hospice care nearby and we needed to get something to eat. The girl at the counter was very friendly and helped us order. Our pizza was delicious, and loaded with toppings. What my sister didn't realize was she had lost my mother's diamond ring at the restaurant! I grew up with Sir Pizza at the Sewickley Oakmont location, so it will always have a place in my heart. I love the square pieces with the triangle edges and the chopped pepperoni instead of whole slices. Yes, the mushrooms definitely come from a can, the sauce is probably some generic jar but oh the nostalgia. My mom did a pickup order which they messed up. It should have been a large pepperoni and half mushroom and a small half pepperoni/mushroom and half just pepperoni. We received: a large all mushroom and pepperoni and a small half pepperoni/mushroom with the other half just mushroom. At least the mushrooms are large enough to be picked off easily. I enjoyed the crispiness of the crust and appreciated the bottom was also crispy and not soggy. Bottom line: not my favorite pizza nor the best pizza but when I eat it, I know I'm Home. I ordered takeout from here on a Friday evening during the takout/delivery only stage of restaurants at this time. When I arrived there were cars lined up by the sidewalk waiting for orders, however the young lady coming out and delivering them to vehicles was doing an excellent job at acknowledging people and making sure orders were being received. I received mine 2 minutes after I spoke to her. I felt bad since she was the only one running in and out of the restaurant and there were quite a few cars waiting! By the time I got home, the pizza needed warmed up a bit but it was definitely fresh out of the oven. I have never seen a round pizza cut the way this was cut and it made it deceiving on how many pieces you were truly eating! I ordered a simple cheese pizza topped with bacon. There was a decent amount of bacon but there could have been slightly more cheese. There is almost not crust at all which is fine with me and the pizza was very thin. The sauce had a slightly sweet note that was pretty good, but there was plenty of it on the pizza for my liking. The bacon was crisp and tender all at once. We were pretty happy with this pizza, being that it is a little bit different than a traditional pie but nothing too over the top. A nice change up from our usual! There was none left for leftovers for tomorrow! Overall, a solid pizza if you like minimal crust/dough. My wife and I ordered takeout from here during the covid crisis. This place is close to my wife's work place and she picked up a large pizza to bring home one day after work. We ordered a bacon pizza and it turned out already. I like the thinner crust and thought the sauce and bacon made for a tasty pizza. Quantity it was not your typical pizza as my wife and I were able to finish it off fairly easily. Overall I thought the quality in the pizza is there, and for me this style of pizza is something I would enjoy on occasion and not all the time. I'd recommend trying it out for yourself. read more

What is the chance that you travel to Pittsburgh and find good pizza? Well thats exactly what happened when we went to visit some friends in the Burgh and to my amazement they actually cut their pizza in squares. I thought that only happened in Chicago and definitely not on the Eastern half of the US. We had a larger group including two small kids so we had a variety of pizza and pastas covered in butter. The interesting thing about the pizza is the sausage and pepperoni is diced up small and spread across the whole pizza. I usually always like onions and sausage on my pizza, but some other pizza places really butcher the sausage and get generic tasting brands; I can't say that about Sir's. When the thing that people most frequently mention about your pizza is how you cut it, you may not have a great product. Sir Pizza is simply not good pizza. It is unique in many ways, the chopped pepperoni is a nice innovation, but this stuff has no flavor beyond a heavy dose of garlic powder. If you actually like pizza you would probably enjoy a frozen Tony's more than this crap on cardboard. And if you love pizza, this stuff isn't for you. I've been a loyal customer of the Sir Pizza on Brandt School Road in Franklin Park for 10 years. Aside from ordering pizza, I've often ordered their side salads and asked if there is any chance they can add cheese to my salad & I would pay extra. Many times for several extra dollars, the cooks have added long strands of shredded cheese to this side side. However, 2 months ago I paid $2-$3 extra dollars for this yummy cheese to be added, only to discover that they never added it, even though I paid for it. I called and asked if the next time I ordered, if I could have the shredded cheese at no charge. The young girl who took the call was kind & agreed to do this for next time, yet when I got my salad next time, there was literally "sprinkle cheese" very sparsely added. I was perplexed since I paid quite a bit extra money on a small side salad for the cheese I love, yet it was not the shredded cheese. When I called back, is when everything went downhill FAST. The owner, KAREN answered the call & when I kindly & calmly told her about the lack of cheese on my salad like in the past, (that I had paid for), she immediately got upset & annoyed & the first thing out of her mouth was "DIDN'T YOU CALL LAST WEEK ABOUT THIS?" She apparently has caller ID. I was shocked by her response, but figured once I explained that lately when I have paid for cheese on my salad, it was either forgotten to be added or was completely different & a sparse shake of "sprinkle cheese" for $2-3 extra dollars. Karen had the nerve to begin arguing saying that they have only have EVER added smoked provolone sprinkle cheese when asked for cheese to be added. I politely said, that had not been the case, because when my husband & I paid extra, the cooks always added the long shredded smoked provolone cheese that I came to learn is what they put on their pizza usually. The owner Karen was not willing to concede that her cooks could have simply & understandably been putting the shredded stands of smoked provolone on my side salad for over a year, vs the sprinkle cheese that she is claiming they have only ever put on their side salads since they opened up to 12-15 years ago. She was rude, annoyed & had ZERO CUSTOMER service skills. She never was able to admit that most likely the cooks added their long strands of smoked provolone (that I mistakenly thought initially was mozzarella, like most pizzas often have). She hung up on me in mid-sentence and when I called back to try to finish my thought very calmly, she became angry and told me I was "dead wrong" even after a decade of being a loyal customer. My issue is not with the quality of the food, i love the food, it's only with the owner, Karen who is rude & unprofessional! I was so frustrated, that when I said I should contact the better business bureau, seeing I had paid for extra cheese last time that they are not giving me anymore, she said "Go ahead & call the better business bureau. I do my care!". I decided to do better than that and write this yelp review instead! All Karen had to do was apologize for the mix up & tell me she herself adds sprinkle cheese & that the cooks occasionally must have been adding the standard smoked provolone to my side salad from time to time, instead of arguing with me & hanging up over extra cheese that I have been paying extra for years! She basically called me a liar & my loyal 10 years of frequenting her establishment, did not matter one bit to her! All of this could have very easily been resolved and worked out! Instead she had no customer service skills to work this out & was a major hot head. So as petty as it sounds, I paid $2-$3 for cheese I never received on my last order. I absolutely love Sir Pizza and have since it opened, I have been going to the other location for like 20 years also. I especially like it is kind of a thin crust which is really good if you try to eat healthy. The toppings are piled on and the dining room is really clean. The salad is also fresh. The staff (mostly local kids), the manager (who gets to know your order by your phone number I think) and even the other customers are really friendly. I wish I could give it more stars. I keep wanting to try other items but mainly I just love the pizza. read more

There is something about this big round pizza, cut into little squares, and covered from edge to edge with crumbled pepperoni that people just can't seem to walk away from. I was introduced to the pepperoni and onion (sometimes with mushrooms too) years ago and I've never ordered anything else on their menu since. These are cheap, but good eats. You'll need a pitcher of cold brew to nurse the roof of your mouth after eating this. What a throw back to my childhood days, when I would climb out of the pool and race to the table to devour snacks on snacks on snacks. Pizza bagels was always a summer day staple. The pizza here is also served with square cuts. SERVICE Order at the counter, which is the front part of the kitchen. They call you up once your order is out. Not a long wait. Self service (you pickup your own napkins, plates, drinks). IMPRESSIONS All I wanted was some pizza! Not only did I get that, I was also reminded of my Bagel Bite phase. I miss those carefree days where I did not have any real responsibilities (other than keeping my room clean, like every other kid). I have a fondness for the simple things in life. Sir Pizza is one of those simple things I appreciate. Sir Pizza is a perfect local pizza place. Prices are great, and the pizza is even better. The crust is thin, the pepperoni tastes fresh and is crumbled, and the sauce is delicious (worth ordering extra sauce!) Pepperoni and onion is a winning combination here. Pizzas are round, but cut into squares, which is kind of fun. The service is consistently quick and the staff is nice. If you eat in, the atmosphere is family friendly and feels just like a nostalgic local pizzeria. Side salads are pretty standard - mainly iceberg, but they're refreshing and fit with the atmosphere. They do have several beers on tap, including one from East End Brewing (usually Monkey Boy), and they recently started carrying growlers. If you order during the week, the pizza is even tastier because they seem to put more toppings on. read more

The food is great (for pizza), it is so convenient to this part of Wexford that it is the "go to" pizza place, it is not a chain (cookie cutter). Prices are very reasonable, service was good. The pictures that are posted -- only one of them makes sense as a point of advertising. The one on the far right looks like a frozen pizza with a cardboard backing!!! ((sure it is not but the image doesn't help their cause)). You can ask your pizza to be cut anyway you like. I suggest the small squares -- easier to manage/control. f8 and be there. read more

I ordered the white cheese pizza with tomatoes which was a mistake. I liked how the pizza was cut into squares but wasn't crazy about the pizza. I wish I didn't get tomatoes on the pizza because I don't think it tasted good as topping and I kept burning my mouth from the tomatoes. I would have to try a regular pizza next time. read more

I stopped by here this past Saturday evening with my wife and 5 other members of my family for dinner. We decided to come here since my sister was in town and Sir Pizza is her favorite pizza place. Normally we would go to the original location (Sewickley Oakmont Rd.) but my mother thought it would be crowded and so we ended up here. The inside of this place looks like many pizza joints as it has a counter to order from up front, a soda machine nearby and then a number of tables and booths to sit at. In addition to this there was a large TV on one of the walls that had sports on it. For dinner our party decided to order two crusader hoagies and three large pizzas: one plain, one with pepperoni and one half bacon half mushroom. Our pizzas came out rather quickly and I started eating the pepperoni as soon as it hit our table. If you have never been to Sir Pizza before then the first thing that you notice is that they cut their pizzas in an unusual fashion. They cut it three times longways and then three times sideways which gives you a number of different shaped small slices. It can actually be quite nice if you are not looking for a full piece of pizza. One thing that I really enjoy about Sir Pizza is that their pepperoni topping is crumbled pepperoni instead of slices and that it tastes really good. With that being said I really ended up enjoying the pepperoni pizza especially whenever I noticed that the bottom of the crust was crispier than normal. Sadly only the pepperoni was that way and I was slightly disappointed whenever I tried the bacon only to have the crust at the normal crispiness. I ended up not trying the cheese pizza nor the mushroom pizza as the mushrooms looked like canned mushrooms and the cheese was gone by the time we had finished the pepperoni. After the pizzas disappeared I then proceeded to eat most of a crusader hoagie myself. The crusader hoagie consists of ham, salami, capicolla, cheese, onions, lettuce, tomatoes and oil & vinegar all on a 12 inch bun. This particular crusader hoagie seemed to be swimming with the oil & vinegar and while I liked all of the other items in the hoagie, I could have done without most of the dressing. The bottom line for me is that I am sure I will be back here again in the future. While it is not my favorite pizza in the world, my sister certainly enjoys it and it is nostalgic for me. read more
