I try not to do bad reviews on a place without firm facts, so here we go. I stopped here as I was craving pizza. So a small pepperoni was the order of the day. I always order a plain pepperoni pizza from a pizza place when I first go there, as this if kind of the benchmark pizza. Mess this one up and it tells me a lot. IMPRESSION: Big place, clean, and typical 80's feel with video games to play and lots of tables. CLEANLINESS: The place is very clean, the kitchen is open to everyone to almost walk into and it was very clean. SERVICE: The owner was very friendly and chatted me up nicely. Based on the these three I really am bummed I have to drop two stars. however read on. THE FOOD: I ordered a simple pepperoni pizza. The toppings were ample, however they use a square diced pepperoni and it frankly is tasteless and like those little squares you find on cheap freezer aisle pizza. The crust was very hard and and the cheese was partially melted. It is like they have their oven decks too hot. The pizza sauce was flat out disappointing. It literally was like plain tomato sauce with lots of Oregano, no hint of garlic, nor pepper, crushed red pepper etc. The pizza was just tasteless, and reminded me of an eight buck frozen pizza. Trust me, I wanted this to be good, I hoped it was good. But I just cannot rate it higher as the pizza was horrible. I mean, they saw the middle was not all the way melted..... CLOSING: I really am amazed at how lauded this pizza is. I love pizza, I crave pizza, and I love to find places to get it. But this is just one I cannot go back to or recommend. read more

I grew up in the neighborhood, great place at one time we now live in Manton Mich but have to come down for our fix;) still great but it is the oregano that is missing, we carry some with us so no problem:) My sons drive from Grand Rapids to eat there, say the new place is nice and except for the owner not always being as customer wise as the last owner he still has some good old help.We tried the one in Lansing not as good think it is the oven!
