A ma and pa place in Battle Creek area. We stayed at Firekeepers and drove to get some much recommended pizza. It's been around for years. The locals grow accustomed to a specific pizza. So this place is a hit out there. However. We found the sauce on our pizza to be very bland. The cheese was bland. If we lived out there by it maybe we'd go back. I had Steve's pizza a few times in the 90s and early 2000s. When we moved to Morgan Corners, that all changed. We get Steve's pizza every week. It's the best pizza! They always get it right! I see a few reviews complaining about the sauce being plentiful, we always ask for light sauce and it turns out perfect! Forced to give one star as I can't rate them any lower. I have been in there three times and two of those three times I have experienced the absolute worst customer service ever. Both of those times I have been treated like I was invisible, receiving no acknowledgment what so ever that I was even there. People walking in behind me were greeted and received service, but not me. I guess they only acknowledge people they know or people that are regular customers. I doubt I will ever return. read more

I was really hoping to leave a great review for this place after all the publicity and positive reviews. I called to order a small pepperoni and mushroom pizza, so the order and the pick up took only a few seconds of interaction with the staff. I was very pleased with the friendliness of the young man who took my order on the phone, and the woman who cashed me out upon pickup. You literally walk up to a tall counter when you walk through the front door. You can't see into the kitchen or anything, just a counter and a back wall, and the kitchen is off to the left, out of sight, with a window that faces the parking lot. This was the first time I ordered pizza here, and took my carryout back to Kalamazoo. Got home and opened the box and was less than thrilled to see the wide doughy crust around the edge smothered in dark chunky sauce. The entire pizza was overly saucy and it was thick like tomato paste. The mushrooms were plentiful but it was almost like I ordered just a mushroom pizza, there was not a balance of the two toppings. I was disappointed with this pizza and was not excited to eat the leftovers the next day. I hate to say it, I would have been more satisfied with a $5 hot n ready. However, I see little to no complaints about their pizza, so maybe I'm just picky... ? read more

Outstanding pizza! I've tried the pizza fresh and reheated as left overs. We had a Deluxe and Special pizza. They pile on the toppings which have a great taste! The hand tossed crust was soft and tasty. This pizza, at least in the time i reheated kept its flavor nicely. The menu is pretty limited. They only have a small hand full of specialty pizzas. The menu isn't clear that they offer a thin crust. The facility isn't much to look at. There is no seats in the waiting area - which can be cold in the winter time. The waiting area is clean. The area behind the counter is cluttered which makes you question the product quality. There is an exterior window that you can watch the pizza makers. They were very friendly as we watched our pies being made. This area is kind of messy too. On this occasion...the phone order taker quoted 55 minutes to complete the order. He was right on the money in estimating the time! read more

After all of these years, Steve's Pizza is still my favorite pizza place...EVER. They are located just down the road from my in-laws and it's the one thing I look forward to every time we go to visit. The pizzas come jam-packed with toppings and cheese and the pizza is actually HEAVY when you carry it out. My go-to is a Pepperoni, Sausage, and Bacon pizza with cheese bread. The sausage has a little bit of a kick adding more flavor than the already is to the awesome pizza. The cheese bread is dripping with gooey cheese with a garlic seasoning that will have you missing it the moment it is gone. The staff has always been friendly when going in for pick-up. There is no inside seating - take-out only. Be sure to allow a few extra minutes for your pizza to be made - it's not a "hot and ready". Their signature is THE BRICK. It was good pizza and cheese bread. They were friendly and got the order done for take out. I think though when you get more than one item they double up the cheese. The second time we ordered we didn't really like all the extra cheese. Next time we will say light on the cheese for more than one topping. Crust was flavorful and bubbly. My wife and I love to order pizza from time to time this is always our go to spot here in Battle Creek. Steve's Pizza beats everything else around from chain to family owned businesses hands-down. They are always very generous with their toppings and their pizza sauce is wonderful just the right blend of spices and seasonings. Our favorite is the Hawaiian hand tossed and an order of cheesy bread we always have more than enough for leftovers for at least an extra day. A welcome surprise to find a good, local pizza shop. When I say 'local' I mean the cashier/cook knew customers by first name coming in. I ordered the "Brick" and of you are a meat lover, you will not go wrong. Crust is soft but not chewy or bready. The cheese is not lacking as that is the second taste you notice after the topping. If you like really chewy crust with huge amounts of cheese and meats then Steve's has the pizza for you. They use real cheese and it's everything a good pizza cheese should be - chewy, stretchy, buttery, nutty and it's even great cold. They are MEGA generous with toppings and a "Deluxe" or "Brick" pizza can weight upwards of seven pounds. Just two slices fill me up and I weigh 280 lbs. I'm a big guy and I can normally eat two 16 inch pizza from Little Caesars, or two large Pizza Hut pizzas by myself. Steve's pizza has no dine-in or tables - strictly carry out and the hours are a little weird (3:30 PM to 9:00 PM) and the pick-up area is plastered with religious pamphlets. But if that does not bother you, its the best pizza you can get in Southwest Michigan. read more
