Tuu's is a family run orienta restaurant specialising in Thai, Vietnamese and Peking cuisine…read more Situated in the village of St John's, just outside of Woking, this is arguably one of the best oriental eateries around. Various set menus are on offer, all offering superb value. Portions are large and the food is freshly cooked. There is also an all you can eat buffet at certain sittings and, unlike many establishments, the variety is huge and the food incredibly fresh. You can also dine a la carte and there's nothing to stop you mixing the food from the different areas. The Peking duck comes highly recommended, as do the scallops in Tuu's own sauce, a heady, spicy sauce that one would think would drown something as subtle as scallops, but, somehow, the delicate flavour is enhanced. The restaurant is not particularly large but privacy between the tables is maintained with good spacing. This is an ideal restaurant for a dinner a deux or a business lunch/dinner. It's also a great place to come for a celebratory meal. If there are more of you then there is a function room which can be booked and special menus arranged. The food is reasonably priced for the quality. It's not a cheap night out, but then it's not going to break the bank either. The set meals offer the best value. Staff are incredibly friendly and polite. The waitresses wear traditional dress, adding to the already highly charged oriental atmoshpere of the venue. The decor is in keeping with the oriental theme but again the balance is right and it doesn't feel tacky or over the top. For festival days (such as Chinese New Year, Valentines, Christmas) there is often entertainment during the evening meals. Finally, a takeout service is offered at a 10% discount to the restaurant price. This makes it quite expensive as a take away option but the food is superb!

More Chinese than Thai. Food is still pretty good but massively expensive.read more

I can't believe I've lived in London since like 2007 and I only found out about Thai Cafe this…read moreyear. I feel like an absolute fucking bellend tbh, spending all my time in fucking yumyums (which has the world's stupidest name and is only fun coz they have those tables that sink into the floor but half the time they don't let you sit in them anyway) when this absolute solid gold TREASURE is one minute round the corner. Anyway, the window seat is right next to some cute fairy lights and flowers and shit. As per usual I embarrassed my dining partner - 2015 Elite Yelper, Luke Y - by announcing that if this was a tinder date he would definitely be getting laid. BE WARNED THOUGH - romantic as it is, that table is draughty as fuck whenever anyone goes out for a cigarette. The food is the most authentic Thai I've had outside of actual Thailand. We ordered like the fat fucks that we are, and had fish cakes, chicken satay, squid and some kind of stir fried pork. I also rate their masaman curry and kanom jeeb dumplings more highly than I can express in words, and their homemade ice creams are fleek af too plus they do cool flavours like coconut and pandan. Your whole experience here is going to be heightened immeasurably by the cuteness of the tiny Thai grandma that serves the food. I just want to kiss her all over her jolly little face. She brings you these little spearmint chewy sweets with your bill that instantly take on the exact texture of pre-chewed chewing gum when you eat them. Maybe they are chewing gum? Either way, I swallow, but that's enough about my personal life LOL. All in all, it's an A+ experience every time. Big up Thai Cafe, I love you.
