The drinks themselves are on the pricier end and the laksa drink I got did not come off as strongly as I would have liked. If you're going to have laksa, I really want the curry flavor and lemongrass to come through. The winner of the night was the chicken "slider" (which was really just a burger). The place is small, with a few tables and a couch downstairs and more seating upstairs where the bar is. Our drinks were really good; I had a mezcal pineapple chili cocktail and my friend had hot jasmine tea with some kind of alcohol in it (can't remember, but it was delicious), We shared nyonya top hats filled with jicama and fermented soy beans and a spicy papaya salad. We were seated as a walk in party of 2 pretty quickly, although the space felt a little cramped and unorganized. I'm not sure if this is because we were seated in the downstairs area and not the upstairs, but it is a small place overall. I really liked the presentation of the drinks on the menu. They are very on theme with the Singaporean identity of the bar and each drink has a blurb about the culture behind the drink which I really appreciated. The drinks were a little bit pricey in my opinion for what we got; they were good but the quality felt a little bit lower than a dedicated cocktail bar. Heard a lot about this place, was glad to finally check it out. Not everyday you come across a Singaporean fusion cocktail bar and I hope this place sticks around. The drinks are very interesting, and going to be unlike something you've tried before. Each one honors a ton of different ingredients - I got one that had turmeric and curry in it which was super interesting - i'd reserve this for an adventurer. The ambience is intimate, dimly lit, and nice. It wasn't super crowded at 7pm on a Sunday but people started trickling in and it got louder for sure. Def recommend reservation if you can do it in advance. There's an upstairs where they seem to try to seat people first with booths, high tops and bar seating. There's a downstairs as well, where the bathroom is but it never seemed to have people get seated there throughout my visit. We visited Singlish twice in two of the three evenings during our recent visit to NYC because we really liked its cocktails and mocktails. The server we had seemed very talented in recommending drinks based on customer descriptions of their taste preferences. The price is a bit higher than at a typical bar, but the experience is well worth it in our view. Really enjoyed this place! My friend and I came here to grab drinks and just chat and I love the ambiance inside! Super cozy and well decorated. It's a small space but there's an upstairs and it's just very intimate. Service was great, our waiter was very helpful. All of their drinks are Thai inspired/have Asian flavors mixed in which I love. Both of our drinks were delicious. We also ordered some of the food: Singlish fries and the fried wontons. Both were very delicious and were just enough to hit our snack cravings. If you love spirit forward drinks like I do, then this shall be your heaven. I would strongly recommend the one bam. This is probably the strongest drink on the menu- 3oz of alcohol, and you will definitely feel the effects of alcohol, however it tastes so yummy and you can't taste the alc at all this is when I know a cocktail is extremely well made. Also one drink in that flask is actually equivalent of 3 small shots, so you are definitely getting your money's worth 2. Pretty presentation / intimate ambiance : space is limited and small, thus why it's such a great date spot. 3. Intricate taste profiles- each cocktail is so well made; and there are so many ingredients that go into crafting the cocktail. THIS IS LITERALLY ART. I don't just feel like I'm drinking a cocktail, it feels like I'm appreciating state of the art 4. Service is immaculate. First, it's a bit hard to find the place, especially in the evening as there is no clear sign. Just the number 17. It's also located on the second floor of a building. The place itself is really tiny and dimly lit. Its definitely a cute spot for a a first date. The seating is limited and all the tables are for two people and no more. So it's not great for big groups. Also, highly recommend making reservations if you decide to come here. The drink menu looked interesting. Lots of interesting twists on drinks with Asian flavors. I got the die die hard cocktail which was a lychee and ginger cocktail. It was decent but nothing amazing. 4.5. A Singapore-inspired bar, hence the name. This bar is small but plays true to its roots and has a fun menu. Drinks were unique and well made - I got the chiobu (Singapore slang for a cute girl and that I am); granted the chiobu was slightly sweet for my taste but perhaps I'm just too spicy ;). Jokes aside, my favorite was this refreshing teacup drink (forgot the name) - it was fresh and slightly sour, served with a rice crispy. Their Kopitiam (version of espresso martini) is true to a Kopitiam coffee (sry, unhelpful if you've never had), which is a bit more creamy and sweet. Clearly I didn't do my research bc I now see that I did not order the most fun drinks (by presentation) - the Mai Lai (salted egg martini) and One Bam (this mahjong looking drink). Guess I might need to revisit. Vibes wise, this spot isn't super canoodling conducive. It's dim and appropriate for 1st dates, many dates in, friends etc but doesn't give romantic intimacy. It's quiet so a good place to talk. Given that you're looking at this review up to now, it's unlikely you'll be anywhere near Singapore. Music selection was a bit off (they were playing pretty basic edm trash) but I've heard on other nights it's really good. My friends and I were so lost trying to find Singlish. LOL. Tucked away upstairs, you enter a dimly light, gorgeous space. You feel very royal. The service was good, and attentive.
